The Plot to Kill Jesus

And it came to pass when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said to his disciples,

1

Ye know that after two days the passover takes place, and the Son of man is delivered up to be crucified.

Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together to the palace of the high priest who was called Caiaphas,

and took counsel together in order that they might seize Jesus by subtlety and kill him;

but they said, Not in the feast, that there be not a tumult among the people.

Jesus Anointed at Bethany

But Jesus being in Bethany, in Simon the leper's house,

a woman, having an alabaster flask of very precious ointment, came to him and poured it out upon his head as he lay at table.

But the disciples seeing it became indignant, saying, To what end [was] this waste?

for this might have been sold for much and been given to the poor.

But Jesus knowing [it] said to them, Why do ye trouble the woman? for she has wrought a good work toward me.

Иисус же, поняв это, сказал им: "Зачем смущаете женщину? Она сделала для Меня доброе дело.

For ye have the poor always with you, but me ye have not always.

11

Ибо нищие всегда будут с вами, а Я не всегда.

For in pouring out this ointment on my body, she has done it for my burying.

Пролив на Моё Тело благовония, она приготовила Меня к погребению.

Verily I say to you, Wheresoever these glad tidings may be preached in the whole world, that also which this [woman] has done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Истинно говорю: где бы ни проповедовали Евангелие, будут, вспоминая, рассказывать и о том, что сделала эта женщина".

Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus

Then one of the twelve, he who was called Judas Iscariote, went to the chief priests

И тогда один из двенадцати, по имени Иуда Искариот, пошёл к первосвященникам

15

and said, What are ye willing to give me, and *I* will deliver him up to you? And they appointed to him thirty pieces of silver.

15

и сказал: "Что дадите мне за то, чтобы предать Его вам?" Они предложили ему тридцать сребреников.

And from that time he sought a good opportunity that he might deliver him up.

16

И с той минуты он стал искать удобного случая предать Иисуса.

The Last Supper

Now on the first [day] of [the feast of] unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

17

В первый день праздника Пресных Хлебов к Иисусу пришли ученики и сказали: "Где хочешь, чтобы мы приготовили для Тебя пасхальный ужин?"

18

And he said, Go into the city unto such a one, and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is near, I will keep the passover in thy house with my disciples.

Он сказал: "Пойдите к одному человеку в городе и скажите ему: "Учитель говорит: Моё время пришло. Я отпраздную пасху вместе с учениками в твоём доме".

And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the passover.

19

Ученики поступили, как велел им Иисус и приготовили пасхальный ужин.

And when the evening was come he lay down at table with the twelve.

20

Когда наступил вечер, Он сел за стол вместе со Своими двенадцатью учениками.

And as they were eating he said, Verily I say to you, that one of you shall deliver me up.

21

И когда они ели, Иисус сказал: "Истинно говорю вам, что один из вас предаст Меня".

And being exceedingly grieved they began to say to him, each of them, Is it *I*, Lord?

Глубоко опечаленные, они стали один за другим говорить Ему: "Уж наверное это не я буду, Господи!"

But he answering said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, *he* it is who shall deliver me up.

23

В ответ Он им сказал: "Тот, кто опустил руку в одну чашу со Мной, тот и предаст Меня.

24

The Son of man goes indeed, according as it is written concerning him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is delivered up; it were good for that man if he had not been born.

Сын Человеческий уйдёт, как указано в Писании, но горе тому, кто предаст Сына Человеческого! Тому человеку лучше бы и вовсе на свет не родиться!"

25

And Judas, who delivered him up, answering said, Is it *I*, Rabbi? He says to him, *Thou* hast said.

25

Иуда, который собирался предать Его, сказал: "Ты не думаешь, что это я, Учитель!" А Иисус ответил ему: "Ты сам сказал это!"

The Lord's Supper Instituted

And as they were eating, Jesus, having taken [the] bread and blessed, broke [it] and gave [it] to the disciples, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.

И когда они ели, Иисус взял кусок хлеба, благословил его и, разломив, стал раздавать Своим ученикам, говоря: "Берите, ешьте, это-Тело Моё!"

27

And having taken [the] cup and given thanks, he gave [it] to them, saying, Drink ye all of it.

27

А потом Он взял чашу и, возблагодарив Господа, передал им, говоря: "Пейте все,

28

For this is my blood, that of the [new] covenant, that shed for many for remission of sins.

28

ибо это-Кровь Моя, которая скрепляет новый договор и которая прольётся за многих ради прощения их грехов.

29

But I say to you, that I will not at all drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.

29

Но скажу вам, не буду больше пить из плода виноградного до того дня, когда буду пить с вами новое вино в Царстве Отца Моего".

And having sung a hymn, they went out to the mount of Olives.

И пропев гимн, они отправились на гору Елеонскую.

Jesus Predicts Peter's Denial

Then saith Jesus to them, All *ye* shall be offended in me during this night. For it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

31

И сказал тогда Иисус: "Вы все отречётесь от Меня сегодня ночью, ибо записано: "Поражу пастыря, и овцы стада рассеются".

32

But after that I shall be risen, I will go before you to Galilee.

32

Но после воскресения Моего отправлюсь впереди вас в Галилею".

33

And Peter answering said to him, If all shall be offended in thee, *I* will never be offended.

33

Тогда Пётр ответил Ему: "Даже если все потеряют веру в Тебя, я никогда не потеряю".

34

Jesus said to him, Verily I say to thee, that during this night, before [the] cock shall crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

34

Иисус сказал ему: "Истинно говорю: в эту ночь, прежде чем петух пропоёт, ты трижды отречёшься от Меня".

35

Peter says to him, If I should needs die with thee, I will in no wise deny thee. Likewise said all the disciples also.

35

Пётр сказал Ему: "Даже если мне придётся умереть вместе с Тобой, я никогда не отрекусь". И все ученики повторили то же самое.

36

Jesus Prays at Gethsemane

Then Jesus comes with them to a place called Gethsemane, and says to the disciples, Sit here until I go away and pray yonder.

И пришёл Иисус с ними в место, называемое Гефсимания, и сказал ученикам: "Посидите здесь, пока Я схожу туда и помолюсь".

37

And taking with [him] Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and deeply depressed.

37

И взял Он с собой Петра и двух сыновей Зеведея и предался печали и скорби.

38

Then he says to them, My soul is very sorrowful even unto death; remain here and watch with me.

38

И сказал Он им тогда: "Моя душа полна смертельной скорби. Побудьте и пободрствуйте со Мной".

39

And going forward a little he fell upon his face, praying and saying, My Father, if it be possible let this cup pass from me; but not as *I* will, but as *thou* [wilt].

39

И отойдя от них подальше, пал ниц и стал молиться, говоря: "Отец Мой, если это возможно, пусть минет Меня чаша сия, но пусть сбудется не то, что хочу Я, а то, чего Ты желаешь".

40

And he comes to the disciples and finds them sleeping, and says to Peter, Thus ye have not been able to watch one hour with me?

40

Вернувшись к ученикам, Он увидел, что они спят и сказал Петру: "Так что же вы, не могли пободрствовать со Мной и часа?

41

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] ready, but the flesh weak.

41

Бодрствуйте и молитесь, чтобы не поддаться искушению. Дух бодр, но плоть слаба".

Again going away a second time he prayed saying, My Father, if this cannot pass [from me] unless I drink it, thy will be done.

42

И снова отошёл и стал молиться, говоря: "Отец, если не минует Меня чаша эта, и должен Я буду пить её, то пусть исполнится воля Твоя".

And coming he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.

43

И возвратился Он и нашёл их спящими, ибо веки их отяжелели.

And leaving them, he went away again and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.

44

И в третий раз Он отошёл и стал молиться, повторяя снова те же слова.

45

Then he comes to the disciples and says to them, Sleep on now and take your rest; behold, the hour has drawn nigh, and the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.

45

Затем вернулся к ученикам и сказал им: "Вы всё ещё спите и отдыхаете? Послушайте, настал час и Сын Человеческий предан будет в руки грешникам.

46

Arise, let us go; behold, he that delivers me up has drawn nigh.

46

Вставайте и пойдём! Смотрите, вот тот, кто предаст Меня!"

Jesus' Betrayal and Arrest

And while he was yet speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great crowd with swords and sticks from the chief priests and elders of the people.

47

И когда Он говорил это, появился Иуда, один из двенадцати. Его сопровождала толпа людей, вооружённых мечами и дубинками, посланных первосвященниками и старейшинами.

48

Now he that delivered him up had given them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, he it is: seize him.

48

И тот, кто предал Его, подал им знак, сказав: "Тот, кого поцелую, Он и есть, хватайте Его".

49

And immediately coming up to Jesus he said, Hail, Rabbi, and covered him with kisses.

49

И тотчас подошёл к Иисусу и сказал: "Привет Тебе, Учитель!", а потом поцеловал Его.

But Jesus said to him, [My] friend, for what purpose art thou come? Then coming up they laid hands upon Jesus and seized him.

50

И сказал ему Иисус: "Друг, делай то, зачем пришёл". И подошли они и схватили Иисуса.

51

And behold, one of those with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and smiting the bondman of the high priest took off his ear.

Один из тех, кто был с Иисусом, обнажил меч и, нанеся удар рабу первосвященника, отсек ему ухо.

52

Then saith Jesus to him, Return thy sword to its place; for all who take the sword shall perish by the sword.

52

И сказал ему Иисус: "Убери меч свой в ножны, ибо тот, кто поднимет меч, от меча и погибнет.

53

Or thinkest thou that I cannot now call upon my Father, and he will furnish me more than twelve legions of angels?

53

Или думаешь, что Я не могу воззвать к Отцу Моему, и Он не пошлёт Мне на помощь больше двенадцати легионов ангелов?

54

How then should the scriptures be fulfilled that thus it must be?

54

Но как же исполнятся Писания, если всего этого не случится?"

55

In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, Are ye come out as against a robber with swords and sticks to take me? I sat daily [with you] teaching in the temple, and ye did not seize me.

55

И тогда Иисус сказал толпе: "Как на разбойника, вышли вы с мечами и дубинками взять Меня. Каждый день Я сидел в храме, проповедуя, но вы не схватили Меня.

56

But all this is come to pass that the scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled. Then all the disciples left him and fled.

Всё это происходит во исполнение писаний пророков". Тогда все ученики оставили Его и убежали прочь.

Jesus Before the Sanhedrin

Now they that had seized Jesus led [him] away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

57

Взявшие Иисуса отвели Его к Каиафе, первосвященнику, где собрались все законоучители и старейшины.

58

And Peter followed him at a distance, even to the palace of the high priest, and entering in sat with the officers to see the end.

Пётр следовал за Ним на расстоянии, до самого двора первосвященника, вошёл туда и сел вместе со стражниками, чтобы узнать, чем кончится дело.

And the chief priests and the elders and the whole sanhedrim sought false witness against Jesus, so that they might put him to death.

Первосвященники вместе со всем советом пытались добиться лжесвидетельства против Иисуса, чтобы предать Его смерти,

And they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. But at the last two false witnesses came forward

но не находили ничего, хотя лжесвидетелей было много. Однако позже появились ещё два лжесвидетеля

and said, *He* said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and in three days build it.

и сказали: "Этот Человек утверждал: "Я могу разрушить храм Божий и восстановить его в три дня".

And the high priest standing up said to him, Answerest thou nothing? What do these witness against thee?

62

И тогда встал первосвященник и сказал Ему: "Почему не отвечаешь? Что означает свидетельство этих людей против Тебя?"

63

But Jesus was silent. And the high priest answering said to him, I adjure thee by the living God that thou tell us if *thou* art the Christ the Son of God.

63

Но Иисус молчал. Первосвященник сказал Ему: "Заклинаю Тебя Богом живым, скажи нам, Христос ли Ты, Сын Божий?"

64

Jesus says to him, *Thou* hast said. Moreover, I say to you, From henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

Иисус сказал ему: "Ты сам сказал это; и всё же, скажу тебе, что отныне увидите Сына Человеческого, сидящего по правую руку от Всевышнего и грядущего на облаках небесных".

65

Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He has blasphemed: what need have we any more of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard the blasphemy.

И тогда первосвященник разодрал на себе одежды, говоря: "Богохульник! Какие ещё нужны свидетели! Вы все слышали это богохульство!

66

What think ye? And they answering said, He is liable to the penalty of death.

66

Что вы думаете?" В ответ они сказали: "Виновен и должен умереть!"

67

Then they spit in his face, and buffeted him, and some struck him with the palms of their hand,

67

И они стали плевать Ему в лицо и бить Его кулаками, а другие хлестали Его по щекам,

68

saying, Prophesy to us, Christ, Who is it who struck thee?

68

говоря: "Докажи нам, что ты пророк, Христос; скажи нам, кто ударил Тебя?"

Peter Denies Jesus

But Peter sat without in the palace-court; and a maid came to him, saying, And *thou* wast with Jesus the Galilaean.

69

А Пётр в это время сидел снаружи во дворе, и подошла к нему одна служанка и сказала: "Ты тоже был с Иисусом Галилеянином".

70

But he denied before all, saying, I do not know what thou sayest.

70

Но он стал отрицать это перед всеми, говоря: "Я не знаю, о чём ты говоришь!"

And when he had gone out into the entrance, another [maid] saw him, and says to those there, This [man] also was with Jesus the Nazaraean.

71

Когда же он выходил за ворота, его увидела другая служанка и сказала тем, кто был там: "Этот человек был с Иисусом Назарянином".

72

And again he denied with an oath: I do not know the man.

72

И снова отрёкся он от этого, поклявшись: "Я не знаю Этого Человека".

And after a little, those who stood [there], coming to [him], said to Peter, Truly *thou* too art of them, for also thy speech makes thee manifest.

73

Немного спустя подошли люди, стоявшие там, и сказали Петру: "Ты точно один из них, ибо твоя речь выдаёт тебя".

Then he began to curse and to swear, I know not the man. And immediately [the] cock crew.

74

И тогда он начал клясться и божиться: "Не знаю я Этого Человека". И тут же пропел петух.

75

And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, who had said [to him], Before [the] cock crow thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went forth without, and wept bitterly.

75

И вспомнил Пётр слова, сказанные Иисусом: "Прежде чем пропоёт петух, трижды отречёшься от Меня" и пошёл прочь, горько заплакав.
