The Resurrection

Now late on sabbath, as it was the dusk of the next day after sabbath, came Mary of Magdala and the other Mary to look at the sepulchre.

Після ж вечора субітнього, як почало свитати в одну із субіт, прийшла Мария Магдалина та друга Мария подивитись на гріб.

And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of [the] Lord, descending out of heaven, came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.

І ось трус великий став ся, ангел бо Господень, зійшовши з неба, прийшов, відкотив камінь від дверей, і сїв на нїм.

And his look was as lightning, and his clothing white as snow.

Був же вид його як блискавиця, й одежа його біла як снїг.

4

And for fear of him the guards trembled and became as dead men.

Од страху ж його затрусились ті, що стерегли його, й стали наче мертві.

And the angel answering said to the women, Fear not *ye*, for I know that ye seek Jesus the crucified one.

Озвав ся ж ангел і рече до жінок: Не лякайтесь, знаю бо, що Ісуса розпятого шукаєте.

He is not here, for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Нема Його тут; устав бо, як казав. Ідїть подивить ся на місце, де лежав Господь.

And go quickly and say to his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and behold, he goes before you into Galilee, there shall ye see him. Behold, I have told you.

І хутко вертайтесь і скажіть ученикам Його, що встав із мертвих, і ось попередить вас у Галилею; там Його побачите: Ось я вам сказав.

And going out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to bring his disciples word.

І, вийшовши хутко від гробу із страхом і великою радостю, побігли сповістити учеників Його.

9

And as they went to bring his disciples word, behold also, Jesus met them, saying, Hail! And they coming up took him by the feet, and did him homage.

Як же йшли вони сповіщати учеників Його, аж ось Ісус зустрів їх, глаголючи: Радуйте ся: Вони ж, приступивши, обняли ноги Його, й поклонились Йому.

Then Jesus says to them, Fear not; go, bring word to my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there they shall see me.

Тодї рече до них Ісус: Не лякайтесь; ійдїть сповістїть братів моїх, щоб ійшли в Галилею; і там мене побачять.

The Report of the Guards

And as they went, behold, some of the watch went into the city, and brought word to the chief priests of all that had taken place.

Як же йшли вони, аж ось деякі з сторожі, прийшовши в город, сповістили архиєреїв про все, що сталось.

And having assembled with the elders, and having taken counsel, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,

І, зібравшись вони з старшими й зробивши раду, дали доволї срібняків воїнам,

saying, Say that his disciples coming by night stole him [while] we [were] sleeping.

говорячи: Кажіть, що ученики Його в ночі прийшовши вкрали Його, як ми спали.

14

And if this should come to the hearing of the governor, *we* will persuade him, and save *you* from all anxiety.

14

І як дочуєть ся про се ігемон, ми вговоримо його, й вас безпечними зробимо.

15

And they took the money and did as they had been taught. And this report is current among the Jews until this day.

15

Вони ж, узявши срібняки, зробили, як їх навчено; й рознеслось слово се у Жидів аж до сього дня.

The Great Commission

But the eleven disciples went into Galilee to the mountain which Jesus had appointed them.

16

Одинайцять же учеників пійшли в Галилею, на гору, куди повелїв їм Ісус.

17

And when they saw him, they did homage to him: but some doubted.

17

І, побачивши Його, поклонились Йому; инші ж сумнились.

18

And Jesus coming up spoke to them, saying, All power has been given me in heaven and upon earth.

18

І, приступивши Ісус, промовив до них, глаголючи: Дана менї всяка власть на небі й на землї.

19

Go [therefore] and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;

19

Ійдїть же навчайте всї народи, хрестячи їх в імя Отця, і Сина, й сьвятого Духа,

20

teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have enjoined you. And behold, *I* am with you all the days, until the completion of the age.

20

навчаючи їх додержувати всього, що я заповідав вам; і ось я з вами по всї днї, до кінця сьвіта. Амінь.
