The Feeding of the Four Thousand

In those days, there being again a great crowd, and they having nothing that they could eat, having called his disciples to [him], he says to them,

В те же дни, когда опять собралась большая толпа и у людей не было еды, Иисус подозвал учеников и сказал:

I have compassion on the crowd, because they have stayed with me already three days and they have not anything they can eat,

— Мне жаль этих людей, они со Мной вот уже три дня, и у них не осталось еды.

and if I should dismiss them to their home fasting, they will faint on the way; for some of them are come from far.

3

Если Я отпущу их по домам голодными, то они в дороге ослабеют, ведь некоторые пришли издалека.

And his disciples answered him, Whence shall one be able to satisfy these with bread here in a desert place?

— Как же здесь, в этой пустыне, найти достаточно хлеба, чтобы их накормить? — удивились ученики.

And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.

5

— Сколько у вас хлебов? — спросил Иисус.
— Семь, — ответили ученики.

And he commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground. And having taken the seven loaves, he gave thanks, and broke [them] and gave [them] to his disciples, that they might set [them] before [them]; and they set [them] before the crowd.

Иисус велел людям возлечь на землю. Затем Он взял семь хлебов и, поблагодарив за них Бога, стал разламывать на куски, передавая ученикам, а те раздавали хлеб народу.

And they had a few small fishes, and having blessed them, he desired these also to be set before [them].

Было у них и несколько рыбок; Иисус благословил их и тоже велел раздать.

And they ate and were satisfied. And they took up of fragments that remained seven baskets.

8

Люди ели и насытились, и еще набралось семь корзин остатков.

9

And they [that had eaten] were about four thousand; and he sent them away.

9

А было там только мужчин около четырех тысяч человек. Иисус отпустил народ

10

And immediately going on board ship with his disciples, he came into the parts of Dalmanutha.

10

и сразу же, сев вместе с учениками в лодку, отправился в земли Далмануты.

The Pharisees Seek a Sign

And the Pharisees went out and began to dispute against him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, tempting him.

К Иисусу подошли фарисеи и стали с Ним спорить. Они хотели испытать Его и требовали от Него знамения с неба.

12

And groaning in his spirit, he says, Why does this generation seek a sign? Verily I say unto you, A sign shall in no wise be given to this generation.

12

Иисус глубоко вздохнул и спросил:
— Почему это поколение требует знамения? Говорю вам истину, ему не будет дано никакого знамения.

13

And he left them, and going again on board ship, went away to the other side.

13

И, оставив их, Он снова сел в лодку и отправился на другую сторону озера.

Leaven of the Pharisees and Herod

And they forgot to take bread, and save one loaf, they had not [any] with them in the ship.

14

Ученики забыли взять с собой хлеба, и в лодке у них был всего один хлеб.

15

And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and [of] the leaven of Herod.

15

А Иисус предостерегал их:
— Смотрите, берегитесь закваски фарисеев и закваски Ирода.

16

And they reasoned with one another, [saying], It is because we have no bread.

16

Ученики стали рассуждать между собой:
— Он говорит это потому, что у нас нет хлеба?

17

And Jesus knowing [it], says to them, Why reason ye because ye have no bread? Do ye not yet perceive nor understand? Have ye your heart [yet] hardened?

17

Зная, о чем они говорят, Иисус сказал:
— Почему вы рассуждаете о том, что у вас нет хлеба? Неужели вы все еще не сознаете и не понимаете? Неужели сердца ваши совсем окаменели?

18

Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

У вас есть глаза, и вы не видите? Есть уши, и вы не слышите?31 Неужели вы не помните?

19

When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many hand-baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say to him, Twelve.

Когда Я разделил пять хлебов на пять тысяч человек, сколько полных корзин остатков вы набрали?
— Двенадцать, — ответили ученики.

20

And when the seven for the four thousand, the filling of how many baskets of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.

20

— А когда семь хлебов на четыре тысячи, сколько полных корзин остатков вы набрали?
— Семь, — ответили те.

21

And he said to them, How do ye not yet understand?

21

— Так неужели вы все еще не понимаете? — сказал Иисус.

A Blind Man Healed at Bethsaida

And he comes to Bethsaida; and they bring him a blind man, and beseech him that he might touch him.

22

Когда они пришли в Вифсаиду, к Иисусу привели слепого и попросили прикоснуться к нему.

23

And taking hold of the hand of the blind man he led him forth out of the village, and having spit upon his eyes, he laid his hands upon him, and asked him if he beheld anything.

23

Иисус взял слепого за руку, вывел из селения, плюнул ему на глаза и, возложив на него руки, спросил:
— Видишь что-нибудь?

24

And having looked up, he said, I behold men, for I see [them], as trees, walking.

24

Тот посмотрел вокруг и сказал:
— Вижу людей: словно двигаются деревья.

25

Then he laid his hands again upon his eyes, and he saw distinctly, and was restored and saw all things clearly.

25

Иисус еще раз приложил руки к его глазам, и он исцелился, зрение вернулось к нему, и он стал видеть все четко и ясно.

And he sent him to his house, saying, Neither enter into the village, nor tell [it] to any one in the village.

26

Иисус отправил его домой, сказав:
— Смотри, в селение не заходи.

27

Peter's Confession of Christ

And Jesus went forth and his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea-Philippi. And by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Who do men say that I am?

27

Иисус с учениками пошел в селения, прилегающие к Кесарии Филипповой. По дороге Иисус спросил их:
— За кого принимают Меня люди?

28

And they answered him, saying, John the baptist; and others, Elias; but others, One of the prophets.

28

Ученики ответили:
— За Иоанна Крестителя; другие же — за Илию; а некоторые — за одного из пророков.

29

And he asked them, But *ye*, who do ye say that I am? And Peter answering says to him, *Thou* art the Christ.

29

— А вы кем считаете Меня? — спросил их Иисус.
Петр ответил:
— Ты — Христос.32

And he charged them straitly, in order that they should tell no man about him.

30

Но Иисус велел им никому не говорить о Нем.

31

Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection

And he began to teach them that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and of the chief priests and of the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise [again].

31

И Он начал учить их, что Сыну Человеческому должно много пострадать и быть отвергнутым старейшинами, первосвященниками и учителями Закона, что Он будет убит, но через три дня воскреснет.

32

And he spoke the thing openly. And Peter, taking him to [him], began to rebuke him.

32

Он прямо говорил об этом. Тогда Петр отвел Его в сторону и стал возражать.

33

But he, turning round and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, saying, Get away behind me, Satan, for thy mind is not on the things that are of God, but on the things that are of men.

33

Иисус же, обернувшись и посмотрев на учеников, строго сказал Петру:
— Прочь от Меня, сатана! Ты рассуждаешь по-человечески и не понимаешь того, что хочет Бог.

Take up Your Cross

And having called the crowd with his disciples, he said to them, Whoever desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.

Подозвав народ и Своих учеников, Иисус сказал им:
— Если кто желает быть Моим последователем, пусть отречется от самого себя, возьмет свой крест и пусть следует за Мной.

35

For whosoever shall desire to save his life shall lose it, but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's shall save it.

35

Потому что тот, кто хочет сберечь свою жизнь, потеряет ее, а кто потеряет свою жизнь ради Меня и Радостной Вести, тот спасет ее.

36

For what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul?

36

Ведь что пользы человеку приобрести весь мир, если при этом он повредит своей душе?

37

for what should a man give in exchange for his soul?

37

И что человек может дать в обмен за свою душу?

38

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him shall the Son of man also be ashamed when he shall come in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

38

Кто постыдится Меня и Моих слов в этом безбожном и грешном поколении, того и Сын Человеческий постыдится, когда придет в славе Своего Отца со святыми ангелами.
