Parable of the Persistent Widow

And he spoke also a parable to them to the purport that they should always pray and not faint,

И рассказал Иисус ученикам притчу о том, что следует всегда молиться и не терять надежды.

saying, There was a judge in a city, not fearing God and not respecting man:

Он сказал: "В одном городе жил судья: он и Бога не боялся, и людей не уважал.

3

and there was a widow in that city, and she came to him, saying, Avenge me of mine adverse party.

3

И была в том городе вдова. Много раз она приходила к нему, говоря: "Защити меня от противника моего!"

4

And he would not for a time; but afterwards he said within himself, If even I fear not God and respect not man,

Долгое время он не хотел этого делать. Но в конце концов сказал себе: "Хотя я и Бога не боюсь, и людей не уважаю,

at any rate because this widow annoys me I will avenge her, that she may not by perpetually coming completely harass me.

однако эта вдова не оставляет меня в покое. Я помогу ей добиться правосудия, чтобы она больше не приходила и не надоедала мне".

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge says.

Тогда Господь сказал: "Слышите, что сказал неправедный судья?

And shall not God at all avenge his elect, who cry to him day and night, and he bears long as to them?

Разве Бог не сделает так, чтобы свершилось правосудие для избранников Его, которые взывают к Нему денно и нощно? Разве будет Он медлить с ответом?

I say unto you that he will avenge them speedily. But when the Son of man comes, shall he indeed find faith on the earth?

Я говорю вам: Он поможет Своим избранникам, и скоро! Но когда придёт Сын Человеческий, то найдёт ли Он веру на земле?"

The Pharisee and Tax Collector

And he spoke also to some, who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and made nothing of all the rest [of men], this parable:

Иисус рассказал ещё притчу тем, кто был уверен в своей праведности и смотрел на всех свысока:

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer.

10

"Два человека пошли в храм помолиться. Один из них был фарисей, другой — сборщик налогов.

11

The Pharisee, standing, prayed thus to himself: God, I thank thee that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax-gatherer.

Фарисей, встав в стороне, молился так: "О Боже, благодарю Тебя, что я не похож на других людей: грабителей, обманщиков, прелюбодеев или даже на этого сборщика налогов.

12

I fast twice in the week, I tithe everything I gain.

12

Я пощусь дважды в неделю и отдаю десятую часть своих доходов".

And the tax-gatherer, standing afar off, would not lift up even his eyes to heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, O God, have compassion on me, the sinner.

А сборщик налогов стоял в стороне и, не осмеливаясь даже глаз поднять к небу, молился со всем смирением перед Богом, говоря: "О Боже, будь милостив ко мне, грешнику!"

14

I say unto you, This [man] went down to his house justified rather than that [other]. For every one who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.

Я говорю вам: этот человек, закончив молиться, вернулся домой праведным перед Богом. Фарисей же, считавший себя выше других, был неправеден перед Богом. Ибо каждый, возвышающий себя, будет унижен, а каждый, унижающий себя, будет возвышен".

Jesus Blesses the Children

And they brought to him also infants that he might touch them, but the disciples when they saw [it] rebuked them.

15

Некоторые люди приносили к Иисусу детей, чтобы Он прикоснулся к ним. Ученики же, увидев это, осуждали их.

16

But Jesus calling them to [him] said, Suffer little children to come to me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of God.

16

Но Иисус призвал к себе детей, а ученикам сказал: "Пусть дети малые приходят ко Мне, не останавливайте их, ибо таким, как они, принадлежит Царство Божье.

17

Verily I say to you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

17

Истинно говорю: кто не принимает Царства Божьего, словно малое дитя, не войдёт в него".

18

The Rich Young Ruler

And a certain ruler asked him saying, Good teacher, having done what, shall I inherit eternal life?

18

И один из предводителей иудейских спросил Его: "Учитель добрый, что должен я сделать, чтобы унаследовать вечную жизнь?"

19

But Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, God.

19

Иисус же сказал ему: "Почему называешь Меня добрым? Никто не добр, кроме одного Бога.

20

Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

20

Ты знаешь заповеди: "Не прелюбодействуй, не убей, не укради, не лжесвидетельствуй, почитай отца и мать".

21

And he said, All these things have I kept from my youth.

21

Но предводитель сказал: "Я выполнял всё это с юности".

22

And when Jesus had heard this, he said to him, One thing is lacking to thee yet: Sell all that thou hast and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in the heavens, and come, follow me.

22

Когда Иисус услышал это, Он сказал: "Одного всё же не хватает тебе: продай всё, что имеешь, и раздай бедным, и будет тебе награда на небесах. Тогда приди, и следуй за Мной".

But when he heard this he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

23

Но тот, услышав это, опечалился, ибо был очень богат.

24

But when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, he said, How difficultly shall those who have riches enter into the kingdom of God;

24

Увидев его печаль, Иисус сказал: "Как трудно богатым войти в Царство Божье!

25

for it is easier for a camel to enter through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

25

Ведь легче верблюду пройти сквозь игольное ушко, чем богатому войти в Царство Божье".

And those who heard it said, And who can be saved?

26

И люди, слышавшие это, сказали: "Кто же тогда будет спасён?"

27

But he said, The things that are impossible with men are possible with God.

27

Иисус ответил: "Что невозможно для людей, возможно для Бога".

28

And Peter said, Behold, *we* have left all things and have followed thee.

28

Тогда Пётр сказал: "Посмотри, мы оставили всё, что у нас было, и последовали за Тобой".

29

And he said to them, Verily I say to you, There is no one who has left home, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,

Иисус сказал им: "Истинно говорю: нет никого, кто, оставив дом, или жену, или брата, или родителей, или детей ради Царства Божьего,

30

who shall not receive manifold more at this time, and in the coming age life eternal.

30

не получит во много раз больше в этой жизни, а после своей смерти — вечную жизнь с Богом".

31

Jesus Again Predicts His Death

And he took the twelve to [him] and said to them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written of the Son of man by the prophets shall be accomplished;

31

Отведя в сторону двенадцать апостолов, Иисус сказал им: "Слушайте! Мы идём в Иерусалим, и всё, что записано пророками о Сыне Человеческом, исполнится.

32

for he shall be delivered up to the nations, and shall be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon.

32

Да, Он будет предан язычникам, над Ним будут издеваться, оскорблять, унижать и оплёвывать Его.

33

And when they have scourged [him] they will kill him; and on the third day he will rise again.

33

И будут бить Его кнутами и убьют. И на третий день Он воскреснет".

34

And they understood nothing of these things. And this word was hidden from them, and they did not know what was said.

34

Но они ничего не поняли из этого, ибо от них был скрыт смысл сказанного Им.

Jesus Heals a Blind Beggar

And it came to pass when he came into the neighbourhood of Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the wayside begging.

35

Приближаясь к Иерихону, Иисус встретил слепого, сидевшего у дороги и просящего милостыню.

36

And when he heard the crowd passing, he inquired what this might be.

36

Услышав, что мимо проходит народ, он спросил, что происходит.

37

And they told him that Jesus the Nazaraean was passing by.

37

И ему сказали, что идёт Иисус из Назарета.

And he called out saying, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.

38

Тогда он закричал: "Иисус, Сын Давида, смилуйся надо мной!"

39

And those [who were] going before rebuked him that he might be silent; but *he* cried out so much the more, Son of David, have mercy on me.

39

Те, кто шли впереди, заставляли его молчать, но он ещё громче кричал: "Сын Давидов, смилуйся надо мной!"

40

And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be led to him. And when he drew nigh he asked him [saying],

Иисус остановился и приказал привести слепого к Нему. Когда же тот подошёл, Иисус спросил его:

What wilt thou that I shall do to thee? And he said, Lord, that I may see.

41

"Что ты хочешь, чтобы Я сделал для тебя?" И тот сказал: "Господи! Я хочу прозреть!"

42

And Jesus said to him, See: thy faith has healed thee.

42

И сказал ему Иисус: "Прозри! Вера твоя исцелила тебя!"

43

And immediately he saw, and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people when they saw [it] gave praise to God.

43

И тотчас же зрение вернулось к этому человеку. И он последовал за Иисусом, прославляя Бога. И люди видели это и воздали хвалу Богу.
