The Patches and Wineskins
And he spoke also a parable to them: No one puts a piece of a new garment upon an old garment, otherwise he will both rend the new, and the piece which is from the new will not suit with the old.

And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old. -

He told them this parable: “No one tears a piece out of a new garment to patch an old one. Otherwise, they will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old. -

Then Jesus gave them this illustration: “No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and uses it to patch an old garment. For then the new garment would be ruined, and the new patch wouldn’t even match the old garment.

При сём сказал им притчу: никто не приставляет заплаты к ветхой одежде, отодрав от новой одежды; а иначе и новую раздерёт, и к старой не подойдёт заплата от новой.

Він їм сказав також цю притчу: “Ніхто не відриває латки від нової одежини й не пришиває її до старої, а то порве й нову, і латка від нової не підійде до старої.

Сказав же й приповість до них: Що нїхто латки з одежини нової не пришиває до одежини старої; коли ж нї, то й нову розідре, й старій не личить латка з нового. -
Тоді ж Ісус розповів їм притчу: «Ніхто не відриває латку від нового одягу, щоби пришити на старий. Якщо так зробити, то й нову одежину порвеш, і до старої не припасується латка від нової.

Розповів же і при́казку їм: „Ніхто ла́тки з одежі ново́ї в одежу стару не вставляє, а то подере́ й нову́, а латка з ново́ї старій не надасться.

Он также рассказал им притчу:
— Никто не пришивает заплату к старому плащу, оторвав для этого кусок от нового. Если он это сделает, то он и новый плащ испортит, и к старому заплата не подойдет. -
І Він розповів їм притчу, що ніхто, відірвавши кусок нового одягу, не пришиває до старого одягу, бо і нове порве, і до старого не згодиться латка з нового.
