Jesus Comforts the Disciples

Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe on God, believe also on me.

1

Иисус сказал: "Пусть не печалятся ваши сердца. Продолжайте верить в Бога и в Меня.

In my Father's house there are many abodes; were it not so, I had told you: for I go to prepare you a place;

Много покоев в доме Отца Моего; если бы это было не так, Я сказал бы вам. Я иду туда, чтобы подготовить для вас место.

3

and if I go and shall prepare you a place, I am coming again and shall receive you to myself, that where I am ye also may be.

3

И когда пойду и приготовлю для вас место, приду опять и заберу вас с Собою, чтобы вы были там, где Я.

And ye know where I go, and ye know the way.

4

Вы знаете дорогу, куда Я иду".

The Way, the Truth, and the Life

Thomas says to him, Lord, we know not where thou goest, and how can we know the way?

Фома сказал Ему: "Господи, мы не знаем, куда Ты идёшь. Откуда же нам знать дорогу?"

Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father unless by me.

Иисус сказал: "Я — ваш путь, истина и жизнь. Никто не придёт к Отцу, кроме как через Меня.

If ye had known me, ye would have known also my Father, and henceforth ye know him and have seen him.

7

Если вы узнали Меня, то узнаете и Отца. И с этого дня вы знаете Его, и видели Его".

Philip says to him, Lord, shew us the Father and it suffices us.

Филипп сказал: "Господи, укажи нам Отца, и довольно для нас".

Jesus says to him, Am I so long a time with you, and thou hast not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how sayest thou, Shew us the Father?

Иисус ответил: "Я пробыл среди вас так долго, а ты все ещё не знаешь Меня, Филипп? Кто видел Меня, видел и Отца. Как можешь ты говорить: "Укажи нам Отца"?

Believest thou not that I [am] in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words which I speak to you I do not speak from myself; but the Father who abides in me, he does the works.

Ты ведь веришь, что Я в Отце, а Отец во Мне? Слова, которые Я обращаю к вам, не от Меня: Отец, пребывающий во Мне, свершает Свои деяния.

Believe *me* that I [am] in the Father and the Father in me; but if not, believe me for the works' sake themselves.

11

Верьте Мне, когда говорю, что Отец во Мне, а Я в Отце. А если в это не верите, то верьте Мне по деяниям Моим.

12

Verily, verily, I say to you, He that believes on me, the works which I do shall he do also, and he shall do greater than these, because I go to the Father.

Истинно говорю: кто верует в Меня, сможет исполнить то же, что и Я, и даже больше того, что исполнено Мной, ибо Я иду к Отцу.

13

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, this will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

13

И Я исполню для вас всё, что ни попросите у Меня, и прославится Отец в Сыне.

14

If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.

14

И если чего попросите во имя Моё, Я исполню".

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

15

"Если вы любите Меня, то исполните Мои заповеди,

16

And I will beg the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,

16

Я же попрошу Отца, и Он пошлёт вам другого Утешителя, Который останется с вами навечно,

17

the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see him nor know him; but ye know him, for he abides with you, and shall be in you.

17

Духа Истины. Мир не может принять Его, ибо не видит и не знает Его. Вы же знаете Его, ибо Он живёт среди вас и будет в душах ваших.

18

I will not leave you orphans, I am coming to you.

18

Я не оставлю вас сиротами, а вернусь к вам.

19

Yet a little and the world sees me no longer; but ye see me; because I live ye also shall live.

19

Мир не будет видеть Меня, вы же будете видеть, ибо Я живу, и вы будете жить также.

20

In that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

20

В тот день узнаете вы, что Я в Отце, вы во Мне, и Я в вас.

21

He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me; but he that loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will manifest myself to him.

21

Кто принимает Мои наказы и исполняет их, любит Меня. Кто любит Меня, того и Отец Мой возлюбит, и Я возлюблю того и явлюсь ему".

Judas, not the Iscariote, says to him, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself to us and not to the world?

Иуда, не Иуда Искариот, сказал Ему: "Господи, почему Ты явишься только нам, а не миру?"

23

Jesus answered and said to him, If any one love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.

23

Иисус сказал в ответ: "Если кто полюбит Меня, то станет исполнять Мои заповеди, и Отец Мой возлюбит того, и тогда Мы придём к нему и станем пребывать с ним.

24

He that loves me not does not keep my words; and the word which ye hear is not mine, but [that] of the Father who has sent me.

А кто не возлюбил Меня, не исполняет Моих заповедей; поучения же Мои, которые вы слышите, исходят не от Меня, а от Отца, пославшего Меня.

25

These things I have said to you, abiding with you;

25

Я говорил это вам, пока был среди вас.

26

but the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, *he* shall teach you all things, and will bring to your remembrance all the things which I have said to you.

26

Утешитель же, Дух Святой, Которого Отец пошлёт вам ради Меня, научит вас всему и напомнит вам обо всём, что Я говорил вам.

27

Peace I Leave with You

I leave peace with you; I give *my* peace to you: not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it fear.

27

Я оставляю вас с миром. Свой мир Я оставляю вам, но не так, как мир даёт, даю Я вам. Да не смутятся сердца ваши и да не устрашатся.

28

Ye have heard that I have said unto you, I go away and I am coming to you. If ye loved me ye would rejoice that I go to the Father, for [my] Father is greater than I.

28

Вы слышали, как Я сказал, что ухожу, но приду к вам снова. Если бы вы Меня любили, то сейчас радовались бы тому, что Я ухожу к Отцу, ибо Отец более велик, чем Я.

29

And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it shall have come to pass ye may believe.

29

Потому Я и говорю вам об этом заранее, чтобы, когда это случится, вы поверили.

30

I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world comes, and in me he has nothing;

Недолго Мне ещё осталось говорить с вами, ибо князь этого мира уже близок. Нет у него власти надо Мной,

31

but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father has commanded me, thus I do. Rise up, let us go hence.

31

но всё это происходит ради того, чтобы мир узнал, что Я люблю Отца и поступаю, как Он повелел. Встаньте, и пойдём отсюда".
