he left Judaea and went away again unto Galilee.

And he must needs pass through Samaria.

He comes therefore to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near to the land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

Now a fountain of Jacob's was there; Jesus therefore, being wearied with the way he had come, sat just as he was at the fountain. It was about the sixth hour.

A woman comes out of Samaria to draw water. Jesus says to her, Give me to drink
Одна самаритянка пришла к колодцу набрать воды, и Иисус обратился к ней: "Дай мне попить".
(for his disciples had gone away into the city that they might buy provisions).
Ученики же Его в это время отправились в город купить еды.
The Samaritan woman therefore says to him, How dost thou, being a Jew, ask to drink of me who am a Samaritan woman? for Jews have no intercourse with Samaritans.
Самаритянка спросила: "Как это Ты, иудей, просишь у меня, самаритянки, пить?" Ибо иудеи не общались с самаритянами.
Jesus answered and said to her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that says to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
Иисус ответил: "Если бы ты знала, что Бог даёт людям и Кто это просит тебя: "Дай Мне попить", то ты сама просила бы Меня, и Я дал бы тебе живой воды".
The woman says to him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: whence then hast thou the living water?
Женщина сказала Ему: "Господин, ведь у Тебя даже нет ведра, а колодец глубок. Где же Ты возьмёшь эту святую воду?
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, and his sons, and his cattle?
Неужели же Ты превосходишь нашего праотца Иакова, который дал нам этот колодец, и сам пил из него со своими детьми и скотом!"
Jesus answered and said to her, Every one who drinks of this water shall thirst again;
Иисус ответил ей на это: "Всякого, кто попьёт этой воды, вскоре снова будет мучить жажда,
but whosoever drinks of the water which I shall give him shall never thirst for ever, but the water which I shall give him shall become in him a fountain of water, springing up into eternal life.
тот же, кто попьёт воды, которую Я дам ему, больше никогда не испытает жажды. Ибо вода, которую Я дам ему, превратится внутри него в животворный источник, приносящий вечную жизнь".
The woman says to him, Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst nor come here to draw.
Женщина сказала: "Господин, дай мне этой воды, чтобы я никогда больше не испытывала жажды и чтобы мне не пришлось больше приходить сюда за водой".
Jesus says to her, Go, call thy husband, and come here.
Он сказал ей: "Пойди, приведи сюда своего мужа".
The woman answered and said, I have not a husband. Jesus says to her, Thou hast well said, I have not a husband;
В ответ женщина сказала: "У меня нет мужа". Иисус сказал: "Ты правду сказала, что у тебя нет мужа!
for thou hast had five husbands, and he whom now thou hast is not thy husband: this thou hast spoken truly.
У тебя было их пятеро, а тот, с кем живёшь сейчас, не муж тебе! Ты правду сказала".
The woman says to him, Sir, I see that thou art a prophet.
Женщина сказала: "Я вижу, Господи, что Ты пророк.
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain, and ye say that in Jerusalem is the place where one must worship.
Наши отцы приходили для поклонения на эту гору. Но вы, иудеи, утверждаете, что люди должны идти для поклонения только в Иерусалим".
Jesus says to her, Woman, believe me, [the] hour is coming when ye shall neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father.
Иисус ответил: "Женщина, поверь Мне, приближается время, когда поклоняться Отцу нашему будете вы не здесь, на этой горе, и не в Иерусалиме.
Ye worship ye know not what; we worship what we know, for salvation is of the Jews.
Вы, самаритяне, поклоняетесь чему-то, чего не понимаете. Мы же, иудеи, понимаем чему поклоняемся, ибо спасение приходит от иудеев.
But [the] hour is coming and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for also the Father seeks such as his worshippers.
Но приближается время, и уже настало, когда истинные почитатели станут поклоняться Отцу по духу и истине. Именно таких ищет Отец наш.
God [is] a spirit; and they who worship him must worship [him] in spirit and truth.
Бог есть Дух, и потому те, кто Ему поклоняются, должны поклоняться Ему в духе и истине".
The woman says to him, I know that Messias is coming, who is called Christ; when *he* comes he will tell us all things.
Женщина сказала: "Я знаю, что приближается Мессия. Когда Он явится, то расскажет нам обо всём".
Jesus says to her, I who speak to thee am [he].
Иисус ответил ей: "Я, Кто говорю с тобой, и есть Мессия".
The Disciples Return and Marvel
And upon this came his disciples, and wondered that he spoke with a woman; yet no one said, What seekest thou? or, Why speakest thou with her?

В это время возвратились Его ученики и очень удивились, что Он разговаривает с женщиной. Но никто не спросил Его: "Чего Ты хочешь от неё?" или "Почему Ты разговариваешь с ней?"
The woman then left her waterpot and went away into the city, and says to the men,
Женщина оставила свой кувшин с водой и возвратилась обратно в город. Она сказала людям:
Come, see a man who told me all things I had ever done: is not he the Christ?
"Пойдёмте со мной, и вы увидите Человека, который рассказал мне обо всём, что я делала в жизни! Может, Он и есть Христос, как вы думаете?"
But meanwhile the disciples asked him saying, Rabbi, eat.
Тем временем ученики Иисуса упрашивали Его: "Учитель, поешь чего-нибудь!"
But he said to them, I have food to eat which ye do not know.
Но Он сказал им: "У Меня есть такая пища, о которой вы и не знаете!"
The disciples therefore said to one another, Has any one brought him [anything] to eat?
Тогда Его ученики стали спрашивать друг у друга: "Может быть, кто-то принёс Ему еды?"
Jesus says to them, My food is that I should do the will of him that has sent me, and that I should finish his work.
Иисус же ответил на это: "Моя пища в том, чтобы исполнять волю Пославшего Меня и закончить порученную Мне работу.
Do not ye say, that there are yet four months and the harvest comes? Behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes and behold the fields, for they are already white to harvest.
Засевая поле, вы часто говорите: "Ещё четыре месяца, а там и жатва". Так и Я вам говорю: "Откройте глаза свои и посмотрите на поля: они уже созрели для жатвы.
He that reaps receives wages and gathers fruit unto life eternal, that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together.
Тот, кто жнёт, уже получает плату и собирает урожай для вечной жизни, чтобы и сеятель и жнец оба могли радоваться.
For in this is [verified] the true saying, It is one who sows and another who reaps.
Правдива пословица: один сеет, другой жнёт.
I have sent you to reap that on which ye have not laboured; others have laboured, and ye have entered into their labours.
Я послал вас, чтобы жали вы то, над чем не трудились сами. Другие трудились, а вы собрали плоды их трудов".
Many Samaritans Believe
But many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him because of the word of the woman who bore witness, He told me all things that I had ever done.

When therefore the Samaritans came to him they asked him to abide with them, and he abode there two days.
Самаритяне пошли к Иисусу и попросили Его остаться с ними, и Он оставался с ними два дня.
And more a great deal believed on account of his word;
И многие ещё уверовали, услышав, что рассказывал им Иисус.
and they said to the woman, [It is] no longer on account of thy saying that we believe, for we have heard him ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Saviour of the world.
Они сказали той женщине: "Сначала мы уверовали в Иисуса от того, что ты нам рассказала. Теперь же мы верим в Него, потому что сами услышали, и верим, что Этот Человек в самом деле Спаситель мира".
Jesus Heals the Official's Son
But after the two days he went forth thence and went away into Galilee,

When therefore he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all that he had done in Jerusalem during the feast, for they also went to the feast.
И когда Он пришёл в Галилею, галилеяне радушно приняли Его. Эти люди видели всё то, что Иисус совершил во время праздника Пасхи в Иерусалиме, ибо они также были на том празднестве.
He came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain courtier in Capernaum whose son was sick.
Иисус снова отправился в город Кану в Галилее, где Он превратил воду в вино. В это время в городе Капернауме жил один из царских чиновников, и сын его был очень болен.
He, having heard that Jesus had come out of Judaea into Galilee, went to him and asked [him] that he would come down and heal his son, for he was about to die.
Когда этот чиновник узнал, что Иисус пришёл из Иудеи в Галилею, он пришёл к Иисусу и стал умолять, чтобы Он пришёл в Капернаум и исцелил его сына, ибо тот был при смерти.
Jesus therefore said to him, Unless ye see signs and wonders ye will not believe.
Иисус сказал ему: "О люди, если вы не видите чудес и знамений, значит не хотите верить!"
The courtier says to him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
Царский чиновник просил Иисуса: "Господи, приди, пока мой сын не умер!"
Jesus says to him, Go, thy son lives. And the man believed the word which Jesus said to him, and went his way.
Иисус ответил: "Иди домой. Твой сын будет жить". Человек поверил словам Иисуса и пошёл домой.
But already, as he was going down, his servants met him and brought [him] word saying, Thy child lives.
По дороге в родной город он встретил своих слуг, которые сказали ему, что его сын будет жить.
He inquired therefore from them the hour at which he got better. And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
Он спросил их, когда ребёнку стало лучше, и они сказали: "Жар спал у него вчера около часа пополудни".
The father therefore knew that [it was] in that hour in which Jesus said to him, Thy son lives; and he believed, himself and his whole house.
И тогда отец мальчика понял, что это случилось в тот самый час, когда Иисус сказал ему: "Твой сын будет жить". И он уверовал в Иисуса, а вместе с ним и все его домочадцы.
