And as John was fulfilling his course he said, Whom do ye suppose that I am? *I* am not [he]. But behold, there comes one after me, the sandal of whose feet I am not worthy to loose.

And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.

And as John was finishing his course, he said, ‘Who do you think I am? I am not He. But behold, there comes One after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to loose.’

As John was completing his work, he said: ‘Who do you suppose I am? I am not the one you are looking for. But there is one coming after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.’ -

As John was finishing his ministry he asked, ‘Do you think I am the Messiah? No, I am not! But he is coming soon — and I’m not even worthy to be his slave and untie the sandals on his feet.’

При окончании же поприща своего Иоанн говорил: «за кого почитаете вы меня? я не тот; но вот, идёт за мною, у Которого я недостоин развязать обувь на ногах».

Сповнивши шлях свій, Йоан мовив: Я не той, за кого ви мене вважаєте, та он іде за мною, якому я не гідний взуття розв'язати.

Сповнивши ж Йоан путь свій, рече: Хто я, думаєте ви? Се не я. А ось іде за мною, котрому я недостоєн обувє ніг розвязати. -
Завершивши свою справу, Іоан сказав: „Ким ви мене вважаєте? Я — не Христос.[35] Але Тому, Хто прийде за мною, я не гідний навіть розв’язати ременці Його сандалій”.

А коли свою путь Іван виконав, то він промовляв: „Я не Той, за Кого́ ви мене вважаєте, але йде он за мною, що Йому розв'язати ремінця́ від узуття́ Його я недостойний“.

Заканчивая свое служение, Иоанн говорил: «За кого вы меня принимаете? Я не Он. Но за мной идет Тот, у Кого я не достоин даже развязать ремни сандалий на ногах».

А коли Іван завершував свій шлях, то сказав: За кого ви мене вважаєте? Це не я! Але йде за мною Той, Якому я не гідний розв’язати ремінця від взуття!
