And Paul said, John indeed baptised [with] the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on him that was coming after him, that is, on Jesus.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”

Павло тоді мовив: «Іоанове хрещення ґрунтується на покаянні. Він закликав людей повірити в того, Хто прийде за ним, тобто в Ісуса».

І промовив Павло: „Таж Іван христив хрищенням на покая́ння, говорячи лю́дям, щоб вірили в Того, Хто при́йде по ньому, цебто в Ісуса“.

Павел сказал:
— Крещение Иоанна было крещением покаяния. Он призывал народ верить в Того, Кто должен был прийти после него, то есть в Иисуса. -
Тож Павло промовив: Іван хрестив хрещенням на покаяння, кажучи людям, щоби повірили в Того, Хто йде за ним, тобто в Ісуса [Христа].
