Peter and John Before the Council

And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,

being distressed on account of their teaching the people and preaching by Jesus the resurrection from among [the] dead;

которые были крайне возмущены тем, что они учат народ и проповедуют, что, как Иисус воскрес из мертвых, так воскреснут и Его последователи.26

and they laid hands on them, and put them in ward till the morrow; for it was already evening.

Они схватили Петра и Иоанна и, так как уже было поздно, заключили их до утра под стражу.

But many of those who had heard the word believed; and the number of the men had become [about] five thousand.

Многие же из слышавших Весть поверили, и число верующих27 возросло примерно до пяти тысяч.

And it came to pass on the morrow that their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together at Jerusalem,

На следующий день начальники, старейшины и учители Закона собрались вместе в Иерусалиме.

and Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of [the] high priestly family;

and having placed them in the midst they inquired, In what power or in what name have *ye* done this?

Они поставили арестованных посередине и стали допрашивать их:
— Какой силой или от чьего имени вы сделали это?

Then Peter, filled with [the] Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people and elders [of Israel],

Тогда Петр, исполненный Святым Духом, сказал им:
— Начальники народа и старейшины!

if *we* this day are called upon to answer as to the good deed [done] to the infirm man, how *he* has been healed,

Если вы сегодня требуете от нас ответа за добро, совершенное калеке, и спрашиваете нас, как он был исцелен,

10

be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazaraean, whom *ye* have crucified, whom God has raised from among [the] dead, by *him* this [man] stands here before you sound [in body].

то знайте, вы и весь народ Израиля: этот человек сейчас стоит перед вами здоровым благодаря имени Иисуса Христа из Назарета, Которого вы распяли и Которого Бог воскресил из мертвых!

*He* is the stone which has been set at nought by you the builders, which is become the corner stone.

Иисус и есть тот

Камень, Который был отвергнут вами, строителями,
и Который стал краеугольным.29

And salvation is in none other, for neither is there another name under heaven which is given among men by which we must be saved.

Ни в ком другом спасения нет, потому что не дано людям никакого другого имени под небом, которым надлежало бы нам спастись.

Peter and John Threatened, Released

But seeing the boldness of Peter and John, and perceiving that they were unlettered and uninstructed men, they wondered; and they recognised them that they were with Jesus.

Всех удивляла смелость Петра и Иоанна, ведь было видно, что они люди неученые и простые. В них узнавали спутников Иисуса.

14

And beholding the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to reply;

Видя же рядом с ними исцеленного, присутствующие ничего не могли им возразить.

15

but having commanded them to go out of the council they conferred with one another,

Тогда они приказали им покинуть Высший Совет30 и стали совещаться между собой.

16

saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed an evident sign has come to pass through their means is manifest to all that inhabit Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.

16

— Что нам делать с этими людьми? — говорили они. — Все жители Иерусалима знают, что они совершили великое чудо, и мы не можем это отрицать.

17

But that it be not further spread among the people, let us threaten them severely no longer to speak to any man in this name.

17

Чтобы слух об этом не распространился еще шире среди народа, давайте пригрозим им, чтобы они никому не говорили об этом имени.

And having called them, they charged [them] not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

Они опять велели ввести их и запретили им вообще говорить и учить во имя Иисуса.

But Peter and John answering said to them, If it be righteous before God to listen to you rather than to God, judge ye;

19

Но Петр и Иоанн ответили им:
— Посудите сами, справедливо ли перед Богом подчиняться вам больше, чем Богу?

20

for as for us *we* cannot refrain from speaking of the things which we have seen and heard.

20

Ведь не можем же мы молчать о том, что мы видели и слышали.

21

But they, having further threatened them, let them go, finding no way how they might punish them, on account of the people, because all glorified God for what had taken place;

Члены Высшего Совета, пригрозив им еще раз, отпустили их, не найдя возможности наказать, потому что весь народ славил Бога за то, что произошло.

22

for the man on whom this sign of healing had taken place was above forty years old.

22

Ведь человеку, с которым произошло это чудо исцеления, было больше сорока лет.

The Believers' Prayer for Boldness

And having been let go, they came to their own [company], and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.

23

Когда Петра и Иоанна отпустили, они вернулись к своим и рассказали им обо всем, что им говорили первосвященники и старейшины.

24

And they, having heard [it], lifted up [their] voice with one accord to God, and said, Lord, *thou* art the God who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them;

24

Когда верующие об этом услышали, то они единодушно возвысили голос к Богу и сказали:
— Владыка! Ты создал небо, землю, море и все, что в них.31

25

who hast said by the mouth of thy servant David, Why have [the] nations raged haughtily and [the] peoples meditated vain things?

25

Ты сказал Святым Духом через уста нашего отца и Твоего слуги Давида:

«Зачем возмущаются народы,
и язычники замышляют пустое?

26

The kings of the earth were there, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against his Christ.

26

Восстают земные цари,
и правители собираются вместе
против Господа
и против Его Помазанника32».33

27

For in truth against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou hadst anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with [the] nations, and peoples of Israel, have been gathered together in this city

27

Ведь действительно объединились в этом городе Ирод34 и Понтий Пилат с язычниками и с народом35 Израиля против Твоего святого Слуги Иисуса, Которого Ты помазал.

28

to do whatever thy hand and thy counsel had determined before should come to pass.

28

Они сделали то, что предопределено было Твоей силой и волей.

And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings, and give to thy bondmen with all boldness to speak thy word,

29

И сейчас, Господи, взгляни на их угрозы и дай Твоим слугам смело возвещать Твое слово.

30

in that thou stretchest out thy hand to heal, and that signs and wonders take place through the name of thy holy servant Jesus.

30

Протяни руку Твою и исцеляй больных, совершай знамения и чудеса именем Твоего святого Слуги Иисуса!

31

And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and spoke the word of God with boldness.

31

И когда они помолились, то место, где они находились, сотряслось, и они были исполнены Святым Духом и смело возвещали слово Божье.

Sharing among Believers

And the heart and soul of the multitude of those that had believed were one, and not one said that anything of what he possessed was his own, but all things were common to them;

Все множество уверовавших было едино сердцем и душой. Никто не считал, что его имущество принадлежит лично ему, но все у них было общее.

33

and with great power did the apostles give witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

For neither was there any one in want among them; for as many as were owners of lands or houses, selling them, brought the price of what was sold

and laid it at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to each according as any one might have need.

And Joseph, who had been surnamed Barnabas by the apostles (which is, being interpreted, Son of consolation), a Levite, Cyprian by birth,

being possessed of land, having sold [it], brought the money and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
