Peter and John Before the Council

And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,

being distressed on account of their teaching the people and preaching by Jesus the resurrection from among [the] dead;

досадуя на то, что Пётр и Иоанн учат народ и возвещают людям воскресение из мёртвых через Иисуса.

and they laid hands on them, and put them in ward till the morrow; for it was already evening.

Они арестовали их и посадили в тюрьму до следующего дня, ибо был уже вечер.

But many of those who had heard the word believed; and the number of the men had become [about] five thousand.

Но многие, слышавшие слово, уверовали, и было их около пяти тысяч мужчин.

And it came to pass on the morrow that their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together at Jerusalem,

На следующий день предводители, старейшины и законники собрались в Иерусалиме.

and Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of [the] high priestly family;

Там были также первосвященник Анна, Каиафа, Иоанн, Александр и все, принадлежавшие к роду первосвященника.

and having placed them in the midst they inquired, In what power or in what name have *ye* done this?

Поставив перед собой апостолов, они начали допрашивать их: "Какой властью и чьим именем вы сделали это?"

Then Peter, filled with [the] Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people and elders [of Israel],

Тогда Пётр, исполнившись Духа Святого, сказал им: "Предводители народные и старейшины!

if *we* this day are called upon to answer as to the good deed [done] to the infirm man, how *he* has been healed,

Раз нас допрашивают сегодня о благодеянии, оказанном калеке, и спрашивают, как он был исцелён,

10

be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazaraean, whom *ye* have crucified, whom God has raised from among [the] dead, by *him* this [man] stands here before you sound [in body].

то вы все и весь народ Израиля должны знать: это сделано именем Иисуса Христа Назорея, Которого вы распяли и Которого Бог воскресил из мёртвых. Его именем и стоит он перед вами полностью исцелённый.

*He* is the stone which has been set at nought by you the builders, which is become the corner stone.

Иисус — "Камень, отвергнутый строителями и ставший краеугольным".

And salvation is in none other, for neither is there another name under heaven which is given among men by which we must be saved.

Только в Нём одном спасение, ибо нет другого имени под небесами, данного людям, через которое мы можем спастись".

Peter and John Threatened, Released

But seeing the boldness of Peter and John, and perceiving that they were unlettered and uninstructed men, they wondered; and they recognised them that they were with Jesus.

Иудейские предводители поняли, что Пётр и Иоанн простые и необразованные люди. Увидев, однако же, смелость их речей, они были изумлены, а потом поняли, что Пётр и Иоанн были с Иисусом.

And beholding the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to reply;

Но так как рядом с апостолами стоял исцелённый ими человек, они не нашлись, что ответить.

15

but having commanded them to go out of the council they conferred with one another,

Приказав Петру и Иоанну покинуть синедрион, предводители стали совещаться друг с другом:

16

saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed an evident sign has come to pass through their means is manifest to all that inhabit Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.

16

"Что же нам делать с этими людьми, ибо каждому, живущему в Иерусалиме, ясно, что через них было совершено великое чудо, и мы не можем отрицать этого.

17

But that it be not further spread among the people, let us threaten them severely no longer to speak to any man in this name.

17

Но чтобы дальше это не распространялось в народе, прикажем им, чтобы они ни с кем не говорили от имени Иисуса".

18

And having called them, they charged [them] not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

18

Они позвали апостолов и приказали им ни в коем случае не говорить и не учить во имя Иисуса.

19

But Peter and John answering said to them, If it be righteous before God to listen to you rather than to God, judge ye;

19

Но Пётр и Иоанн ответили им: "Рассудите, справедливо ли перед Богом слушать вас больше, чем Бога?

20

for as for us *we* cannot refrain from speaking of the things which we have seen and heard.

20

Ибо мы не можем не говорить о том, что видели и слышали".

21

But they, having further threatened them, let them go, finding no way how they might punish them, on account of the people, because all glorified God for what had taken place;

21

И пригрозив им снова, иудейские предводители отпустили их, потому что не могли найти повода наказать их, ибо весь народ воздавал хвалу Богу за происшедшее.

22

for the man on whom this sign of healing had taken place was above forty years old.

22

Ведь человеку, над которым свершилось чудо исцеления, было больше сорока лет.

The Believers' Prayer for Boldness

And having been let go, they came to their own [company], and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.

23

После того, как Петра и Иоанна освободили, они пришли к своим и рассказали обо всём, что сказали первосвященники и старейшины.

24

And they, having heard [it], lifted up [their] voice with one accord to God, and said, Lord, *thou* art the God who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them;

24

Услышав это, все они воззвали к Богу и сказали: "Владыка, Ты создал небо и землю, море и всё в мире.

25

who hast said by the mouth of thy servant David, Why have [the] nations raged haughtily and [the] peoples meditated vain things?

25

Это Ты сказал через Духа Святого устами слуги Твоего Давида, предка нашего: "Почему были дерзки народы? И замышляли тщетное?

26

The kings of the earth were there, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against his Christ.

26

Цари земные приготовились к битве, а правители собрались вместе против Господа и Его Христа".

27

For in truth against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou hadst anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with [the] nations, and peoples of Israel, have been gathered together in this city

27

Всё это на самом деле случилось в то время, когда Ирод и Понтий Пилат вместе с иудеями и другими народами собрались в Иерусалиме против Святого Слуги Твоего Иисуса, Того, Кого избрал Ты Христом.

28

to do whatever thy hand and thy counsel had determined before should come to pass.

28

Собрались, чтобы свершилось то, что предопределено было Тобой, согласно воле и власти Твоей.

29

And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings, and give to thy bondmen with all boldness to speak thy word,

29

Взгляни теперь, Господи, на их угрозы и дай рабам Твоим со всем дерзновением говорить Твоё слово,

30

in that thou stretchest out thy hand to heal, and that signs and wonders take place through the name of thy holy servant Jesus.

30

простирая руку Твою для исцеления, для знамений и чудес, совершаемых именем Святого Слуги Твоего Иисуса".

31

And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and spoke the word of God with boldness.

31

Когда закончили они молиться, содрогнулось место, где они собрались, и, преисполнившись Духа Святого, стали все смело говорить, провозглашая слово Божье.

Sharing among Believers

And the heart and soul of the multitude of those that had believed were one, and not one said that anything of what he possessed was his own, but all things were common to them;

Было же у всех уверовавших одно сердце и одна душа. И никто ничего из имущества своего не называл своим собственным, и всё у них было общее.

33

and with great power did the apostles give witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

33

И с великой силой апостолы свидетельствовали о воскресении Господа Иисуса. И Божье благословение было на всех них.

34

For neither was there any one in want among them; for as many as were owners of lands or houses, selling them, brought the price of what was sold

34

И не было нуждающихся среди них, ибо кто владел землёй или домами, продавали их, приносили деньги, вырученные от продажи,

35

and laid it at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to each according as any one might have need.

35

и отдавали апостолам, и всё распределялось между всеми, каждому по нужде его.

36

And Joseph, who had been surnamed Barnabas by the apostles (which is, being interpreted, Son of consolation), a Levite, Cyprian by birth,

36

И один из верующих по имени Иосиф, урождённый киприянин из рода Левита, которого апостолы называли также Варнавой (это имя означает "помогающий другим"), и

37

being possessed of land, having sold [it], brought the money and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
