Idolaters to Be Put to Death

If there arise among you a prophet, or one that dreameth dreams, and he give thee a sign or a wonder,

"Если среди вас появится прорицатель или толкователь снов и объявит, что покажет вам знамение или чудо,

and the sign or the wonder come to pass that he told unto thee, when he said, Let us go after other gods, whom thou hast not known, and let us serve them,

и если знамение или чудо, о котором он говорил, сбудется, то он может уговорить вас следовать богам, которых вы не знаете, говоря: "Будем служить им!"

3

-- thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams; for Jehovah your God proveth you, to know whether ye love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Не слушайте того человека, ибо Господь, Бог ваш, испытывает вас, желая знать, любите ли вы Его всем сердцем и всей душой.

Ye shall walk after Jehovah your God, and ye shall fear him, and his commandments shall ye keep, and his voice shall ye hear; and ye shall serve him, and unto him shall ye cleave.

Следуйте Господу, Богу вашему, почитайте Его, исполняйте Его заповеди и всё, что Он велит вам. Служите Господу, никогда не покидайте Его!

And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; for he hath spoken revolt against Jehovah your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, -- to draw thee out of the way that Jehovah thy God commanded thee to walk in; and thou shalt put evil away from thy midst.

И убейте того прорицателя или толкователя снов, если он, стараясь отвратить вас от жизни, которую обещал вам Бог, будет уговаривать вас обратиться против Господа, Бога вашего, который вывел вас из Египта, где вы были рабами. И потому вы должны убить того человека, чтобы отвести зло от своего народа.

If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, who is to thee as thy soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods (whom thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;

Если кто-то из близких, будь то брат или сын, или дочь, или любимая тобою жена, или близкий друг, тайно станет убеждать тебя поклоняться другим богам и скажет: "Пойдём и станем служить другим богам", тем, которых не знал ни ты, ни предки твои,

of the gods of the peoples which are round about you, near unto thee, or far from thee, from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth),

богам народов, живущих на землях вокруг вас, близких и далёких,

thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye spare him, neither shalt thou pity him, neither shalt thou screen him,

8

не соглашайся с тем человеком, не слушай его, не жалей его, не дай ему уйти и не защищай его!

9

but thou shalt in any case kill him: thy hand shall be the first against him to put him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people;

9

Убей того человека! Первым подбери камень и брось в него, а потом пусть весь народ забьёт его камнями насмерть.

10

and thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; for he hath sought to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;

10

Забей его камнями! Ибо тот человек пытался увести тебя от Господа, Бога твоего, а ведь это Господь вывел тебя из земли Египетской, где вы все были рабами.

11

and all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wicked thing as this in thy midst.

И тогда весь израильский народ услышит об этом и испугается, и не будет больше совершать такое зло".

Idolatrous Cities to Be Destroyed

If in one of thy cities, which Jehovah thy God hath given thee to dwell there, thou hearest, saying,

"Если когда-нибудь до вас дойдёт худая весть об одном из городов, которые Господь Бог дал вам, чтобы жить в них, и вы услышите,

13

There are men, children of Belial, gone out from among you, and they have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, whom ye have not known;

13

что нечестивые люди из вашего народа убеждают его жителей поступать плохо, говоря: "Пойдём и станем служить иным богам" (тем, которых вы не знали раньше),

14

then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and if it be truth, [and] the thing be certain, that this abomination hath happened in the midst of thee,

то сделайте всё, чтобы разузнать, правда ли это. И если узнаете, что это правда, если докажете, что эта мерзость случилась на самом деле,

15

thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, devoting it to destruction, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.

накажите жителей этого города, убейте их всех и заколите весь их скот. Разрушьте этот город полностью,

16

And all the spoil of it shalt thou gather into the midst of the open place thereof, and shalt burn the city with fire, and all the spoil thereof, wholly to Jehovah thy God; and it shall be a heap for ever; it shall not be built again.

а потом соберите всё ценное, отнесите на площадь и сожгите этот город и всё, что в нём. Это будет приношение сожжением Господу, Богу вашему. Пусть этот город навсегда превратится в пустынную груду камней, и пусть никогда не будет он выстроен вновь.

17

And thou shalt not let anything cleave to thy hand of the devoted thing; that Jehovah may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;

Всё в этом городе отдайте Богу, чтобы оно было уничтожено, ничего не оставляйте себе, и если исполните этот наказ, то Господь перестанет гневаться на вас, и будет к вам добр и сострадателен и даст вашему народу умножиться числом, как и обещал вашим предкам.

18

when thou hearkenest to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, that thou mayest do what is right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.

18

И если будете слушаться Господа, Бога вашего, будете исполнять все заповеди, которые я даю вам сегодня, если будете поступать правильно по слову Господнему, то это исполнится".
