Provision for Priests and Levites

The priests, the Levites, [and] the whole tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: Jehovah's offerings by fire, and his inheritance shall they eat,

У священиків-левітів, у цілого племені Левія, не буде частки чи спадщини разом з Ізраїлем. Їхня спадщина — Господні приношення, — вони житимуть з них.

2

but they shall have no inheritance among their brethren: Jehovah, he is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.

Спадщини ж серед його братів у нього не буде. Його спадщина — Сам Господь, як Він і сказав йому.

3

And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from them that sacrifice a sacrifice, whether ox, or sheep: they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the jawbones, and the maw.

Ось присуд священиків, — те, що належить їм від народу, від тих, хто приносить жертви, — чи то теля, чи то вівцю: лопатку, щелепи та шлунок вони повинні віддати священикові.

4

The firstfruits [also] of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstfruits of the shearing of thy sheep, shalt thou give him;

Також даси йому первоплоди збіжжя, вина й олії та первістки стриження овець.

5

for Jehovah thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, that he may stand to serve in the name of Jehovah, he and his sons continually.

Адже Господь обрав його з усіх твоїх племен, щоб він стояв перед Господом, твоїм Богом, священнодіяв та благословляв Його Іменем — він та його сини, по всі дні.

6

And if the Levite shall come from one of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourneth, and shall come according to all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah will choose,

А якщо якийсь левіт, як його душа забажає, прийде з одного з ваших міст з усіх земель ізраїльських синів, де він проживає, на місце, яке обере Господь,

7

and shall serve in the name of Jehovah his God, as all his brethren the Levites that stand there before Jehovah,

7

то нехай він священнодіє Іменем Господа, свого Бога, як і всі його брати левіти, які стоять там перед Господом.

8

they shall have like portions to eat, besides that which he hath sold of his patrimony.

Нехай він харчується виділеною часткою, окрім отриманого з продажу батьківського майна.

Sorcery Forbidden

When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations.

9

Коли ти ввійдеш у землю, яку Господь, твій Бог, дає тобі, не вчись чинити гидоти, які чинять ті народи.

10

There shall not be found among you he that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, that useth divination, that useth auguries, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,

Хай серед тебе не буде знайдено такого, хто очищає свого сина чи свою дочку вогнем, хто ворожить ворожіння, хто чарує, хто віщує, чаклуна,

11

or a charmer, or one that inquireth of a spirit of Python, or a soothsayer, or one that consulteth the dead.

хто заклинає заклинання, черевомовця, хто гадає, хто викликає мертвих.

12

For every one that doeth these things is an abomination to Jehovah, and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth dispossess them from before thee.

Адже кожний, хто чинить ці речі, огидний для Господа, твого Бога. Через ці гидоти Господь, твій Бог, вигубить їх перед твоїм обличчям.

13

Thou shalt be perfect with Jehovah thy God.

13

Будь досконалим перед Господом, своїм Богом!

14

For these nations, which thou shalt dispossess, hearkened unto those that use auguries, and that use divination; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee [to do] so.

14

Адже народи, які ти захоплюєш, слухаються чарувань та ворожінь, а тобі Господь, твій Бог, дав не це!

15

A New Prophet

Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him shall ye hearken;

15

Господь, твій Бог, поставить тобі Пророка з твоїх братів, як мене, — Його слухайтесь.

16

according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

Саме так, як ти просив у Господа, свого Бога, на Хориві, у день зібрання, кажучи: Хай ми більше не чуємо голосу Господа, нашого Бога, і більше не бачимо цього великого вогню, щоб ми не померли!

17

And Jehovah said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.

17

І Господь сказав мені: Усе, що вони сказали, — правильно.

18

A prophet will I raise up unto them from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

18

Я поставлю їм Пророка з їхніх братів, як тебе. Я вкладу Моє слово в Його вуста, і Він говоритиме їм, як Я Йому велітиму.

19

And it shall come to pass that the man who hearkeneth not unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

19

А людину, яка не послухається Його слів, — того, що пророк скаже від Мого Імені, — Я покараю.

20

But the prophet who shall presume to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.

20

А пророк, який безбожно наважиться говорити від Мого Імені слово, яке Я не велів говорити, чи який говоритиме від імені інших богів, — такий пророк нехай помре.

21

And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word that Jehovah hath not spoken?

21

Якщо ж ти скажеш у своєму серці: Як нам упізнати слово, яке Господь не говорив? —

22

When a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, and the thing followeth not, nor cometh to pass, that is the word which Jehovah hath not spoken; the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: be not afraid of him.

22

то якщо пророк скаже щось від Імені Господа, і те слово не здійсниться і не збудеться, — то це є слово, якого Господь не говорив: це безбожно сказав той пророк, — не майте до нього пощади.
