Wanderings in the Wilderness

And we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as Jehovah had said unto me; and we went round mount Seir many days.

1

"Тогда мы исполнили то, что повелел мне Господь, возвратились обратно в пустыню по дороге, ведущей к Красному морю. Мы шли много дней, обходя горы Сеира,

And Jehovah spoke to me, saying,

и сказал мне Господь:

Ye have gone round this mountain long enough: turn you northward.

3

"Довольно вам ходить вокруг этой горы, поворачивайте на север.

4

And command the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the border of your brethren the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you; and ye shall be very guarded:

Скажи народу вот что: вы пройдёте через землю Сеир, принадлежащую вашим сородичам, потомкам Исава, и они испугаются вас, будьте с ними очень осторожны.

5

attack them not; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot-breadth; for I have given mount Seir as a possession unto Esau.

Не сражайтесь с ними: Я не дам вам их землю, ни единой пяди, ибо Я отдал горную страну Сеира во владение Исаву.

6

Ye shall buy of them food for money, that ye may eat; and water shall ye also buy of them for money, that ye may drink;

Заплатите народу Исава за пищу, которую будете там есть, и за воду, которую будете там пить.

7

for Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee in all the work of thy hand. He hath known thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years hath Jehovah thy God been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

Помните, что Господь, Бог ваш, благословил вас во всём, что вы делали, и знает о том, что вы идёте по великой пустыне. Господь, Бог ваш, был с вами все эти 40 лет, и у вас всегда было всё, что нужно".

And we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, by the plain, by Elath, and by Ezion-geber, and we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.

И вот мы прошли мимо наших сородичей, народа Исавова, живущего в Сеире, свернули с дороги, ведущей из Иорданской долины к городам Елафу и Ецион-Гаверу, и повернули на дорогу, ведущую в пустыню Моав".

9

And Jehovah said to me, Distress not the Moabites, neither engage with them in battle; for I will not give thee of their land a possession; for unto the children of Lot have I given Ar as a possession.

"И сказал мне Господь: "Не беспокойте народ Моава, не начинайте с ними войну. Я не дам вам ни куска их земли, ибо они потомки Лота, и Я отдал им город Ар"".

10

(The Emim dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall as the Anakim.

10

(В прошлом, в Аре жили емимы, народ сильный, многочисленный и высокий, как енакитяне.

11

They also are reckoned as giants like the Anakim; but the Moabites call them Emim.

Енакитяне были частью рефаимского народа, и народ считал, что емимы тоже рефаимы, но моавитяне называли их емимами.

12

And in Seir dwelt the Horites in times past; and the children of Esau dispossessed them, and destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did to the land of their possession, which Jehovah gave to them.)

В Сеире раньше жили также и хорреи, но народ Исава захватил их землю. Народ Исава уничтожил хорреев и поселился на их земле, поступив с ними точно так же, как израильский народ поступил с народом той земли, которую Господь отдал им во владение. )

13

Now rise up, and pass over the torrent Zered. And we passed over the torrent Zered.

13

Господь сказал мне: "Теперь отправляйтесь на другую сторону долины Заред", и мы пересекли долину Заред.

14

Now the days in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we had come over the torrent Zered, were thirty-eight years; until the whole generation of the men of war was consumed from the midst of the camp, as Jehovah had sworn unto them.

С того времени, как мы вышли из Кадес-Варни, и до того времени, когда мы прошли через долину Заред, прошло 38 лет, и в нашем стане уже умерли все мужчины того поколения, способные воевать, ибо Господь поклялся, что это случится.

15

Moreover the hand of Jehovah was against them to destroy them from the midst of the camp, until they were consumed.

15

Господь был против них, и они все умерли, и не осталось их в нашем стане.

16

And it came to pass when all the men of war were consumed, having died off from among the people,

Когда все мужчины, способные воевать, умерли,

17

that Jehovah spoke to me, saying,

17

Господь сказал мне:

18

Thou art to pass this day over the border of Moab, [which is] Ar,

18

"Сегодня пересеките границу у Ара и войдите в Моав.

19

and come near over against the children of Ammon; thou shalt not distress them nor attack them; for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon a possession; for unto the children of Lot have I given it as a possession.

19

Когда подойдёте ближе к аммонитянам, не начинайте с ними раздора, не воюйте с ними, ибо Я не дам вам их землю: они — потомки Лота, и Я отдал эту землю им"".

20

(That also is reckoned a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in time past, and the Ammonites call them Zamzummim;

20

Эта страна называется также страной рефаимов. Когда-то в прошлом здесь жили рефаимы. Аммонитяне же называли их замзумимами.

21

a people great, and many, and tall as the Anakim; and Jehovah destroyed them before them, and they dispossessed them, and dwelt in their stead;

21

Замзумимов было множество, народ очень сильный и высокий, как енакитяне, но Господь помог аммонитянам уничтожить замзумимов, и аммонитяне захватили их землю и теперь живут там.

22

as he did to the children of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, from before whom he destroyed the Horites; and they dispossessed them, and dwelt in their stead, even to this day.

Бог сделал то же самое и для народа Исавова: когда-то в Сеире жили хорреи, но народ Исавов истребил хорреев, и потомки Исава живут там и по сей день.

23

And the Avvites who dwelt in the hamlets as far as Gazah -- the Caphtorim, who came out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.)

Бог сделал то же самое и для кафторимов из Кафтора, которые пришли и истребили аввеев, живших в городах вокруг Газы, захватили ту землю и живут там по сей день.

24

King Sihon Defeated

Rise up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon. Behold, I have given into thy hand Sihon the king of Heshbon, the Amorite, and his land: begin, take possession, and engage with him in battle.

24

"Господь сказал мне: "Собирайтесь, пересеките долину Арнона, и Я дам вам победить аморрея Сигона, царя Есевонского, и захватить его землю. Сражайтесь с ним и захватите его землю.

25

This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the peoples under the whole heaven; who will hear report of thee, and will tremble, and quake because of thee.

С этого дня Я сделаю так, что все народы повсюду будут бояться вас и, услышав весть о вас, испугаются и затрепещут от страха".

26

And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sihon the king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying,

26

Когда мы были в долине Кедемоф я отправил послов к Сигону, царю Есевонскому, и они предложили Сигону мир, сказав:

27

Let me pass through thy land: by the highway alone will I go; I will neither turn to the right hand nor to the left.

27

"Позволь нам пройти через твою землю. Мы пойдём по дороге, не сворачивая с неё ни направо, ни налево,

28

Thou shalt sell me food for money that I may eat; and thou shalt give me water for money that I may drink; I will only pass through on my feet,

28

и заплатим серебром за съеденную пищу и выпитую воду, мы только пройдём через твою страну.

29

-- as the children of Esau who dwell in Seir, and the Moabites who dwell in Ar, did to me, -- until I shall pass over the Jordan into the land which Jehovah our God giveth us.

29

Позволь нам пройти через твою землю, чтобы дойти до реки Иордан и выйти на землю, которую даёт нам Господь, Бог наш. Другие народы позволили нам пройти через их земли: даже народ Исава, живущий в Сеире, и народ моавский, живущий в Аре".

30

But Sihon the king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him; for Jehovah thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obdurate, that he might give him into thy hand, as it is this day.

30

Но Сигон, царь Есевонский, не позволил нам пройти через его землю, ибо Господь, Бог ваш, сделал так, что он заупрямился; Господь сделал это, чтобы дать вам победить царя Сигона, и сегодня мы знаем, что так и случилось!

31

And Jehovah said to me, Behold, I begin to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin, take possession, that thou mayest possess his land.

31

Господь сказал мне: "Я отдаю вам царя Сигона и страну его, идите и завладейте его землёй!"

32

And Sihon came out against us for battle, he and all his people, to Jahaz.

32

И тогда Сигон со всем своим народом вышел на сражение с нами при Яаце,

33

But Jehovah our God gave him up before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and his whole people.

33

но Господь, Бог наш, предал его нам в руки, и мы одолели царя Сигона вместе с его сыновьями и со всем его народом,

34

And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every city, men, and women, and little ones: we let none escape.

34

захватили все принадлежавшие в то время царю Сигону города и истребили весь народ в этих городах: и мужчин, и женщин, и детей, никого не оставив в живых!

35

Only the cattle we took as booty for ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.

35

Мы взяли в добычу только скот и всё ценное из этих городов.

36

From Aroer, which is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the ravine even to Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: Jehovah our God delivered all before us.

36

Мы одолели город Ароир на краю долины Арнона и ещё один город посередине этой долины. Господь дал нам одолеть все города между долиной Арнона и Галаадом, ни один город не устоял против нас!

37

Only thou didst not approach the land of the children of Ammon, the whole border of the river Jabbok, nor the cities of the mountain, nor to whatsoever Jehovah our God had forbidden us.

37

Только к земле, принадлежащей аммонитянам, мы не подошли, не подошли ни к берегам реки Иавок, ни к горным городам, ни к одному из тех мест, которыми Господь, Бог наш, не дал нам завладеть".
