The Blessings of Obedience
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to take heed to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that Jehovah thy God will set thee supreme above all nations of the earth;

"Если будешь послушен Господу, Богу твоему, и будешь исполнять все его заповеди, о которых я тебе говорю сегодня, Господь, Бог твой, поставит тебя выше всех народов на земле.
and all these blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God.
Если будешь послушен Господу, Богу твоему, то вот какие благословения получишь, и будут они твоими:
Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
Господь благословит тебя и в городе, и в поле,
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the offspring of thy kine, and the increase of thy sheep.
Господь благословит тебя и даст тебе множество детей, благословит твою землю и даст тебе хороший урожай, благословит твой скот и даст ему многочисленный приплод, благословит всех твоих телят и ягнят.
Blessed shalt thou be in thy coming in, and blessed shalt thou be in thy going out.
Господь благословит тебя во всём, что ты делаешь, во все времена.
Jehovah will give up, smitten before thee, thine enemies that rise up against thee; they shall come out against thee one way, and by seven ways shall they flee before thee.
Господь поможет тебе победить всех врагов твоих, которые выйдут сражаться с тобой: одним путём они выступят против тебя, но семью разными путями побегут от тебя.
Jehovah will command blessing on thee in thy granaries, and in all the business of thy hand; and he will bless thee in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.
Господь благословит тебя и наполнит твои закрома, благословит всё, что ты делаешь, Господь, Бог твой, благословит тебя на той земле, которую даёт тебе.
Jehovah will establish thee unto himself a holy people as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God, and walk in his ways.
Господь сделает тебя Своим святым народом, как обещал, если будешь следовать Господу, Богу твоему, и исполнять Его наказы.
And all peoples of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of Jehovah, and they shall be afraid of thee.
И тогда все народы той земли увидят, что тебя называют именем Господним, и будут страшиться тебя.
And Jehovah will give thee abundance of good, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land that Jehovah swore unto thy fathers to give thee.
И даст тебе Господь множество благ, даст тебе множество детей, даст твоим коровам множество телят, даст тебе хороший урожай на земле, которую Господь обещал дать твоим предкам.
Jehovah will open to thee his good treasure, the heavens, to give rain unto thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand; and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow.
Господь откроет сокровищницу Своих благословений, пошлёт в нужное время дождь на твою землю и благословит все дела твои. У тебя будут деньги, чтобы давать взаймы многим народам, а тебе не нужно будет брать взаймы у них.
And Jehovah will make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if thou hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah thy God, which I command thee this day, to keep and to do them,
Господь сделает тебя головой, а не хвостом, ты будешь на высоте, а не внизу, если будешь исполнять заповеди Господа, Бога твоего, которые я даю тебе сегодня. Тщательно исполняй эти заповеди.
and if thou turn not aside from any of the words that I command thee this day, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Не отступай от учений, которые я даю тебе сегодня, не отступай ни вправо, ни влево, не следуй другим богам и не служи им".
The Curses of Disobedience
But it shall come to pass if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to take heed to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day, that all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee.

"Но если не будешь исполнять то, что Господь Бог говорит тебе, если не будешь исполнять все Его заповеди и законы, то вот какое зло случится с тобой:
Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
Господь проклянёт тебя и в городе, и в поле,
Cursed shall be the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy ground, the offspring of thy kine, and the increase of thy sheep.
Господь проклянёт тебя, и у тебя не будет множества детей, проклянёт твою землю, и у тебя не будет хорошего урожая, проклянёт твой скот, и у него не будет многочисленного приплода, проклянёт всех твоих телят и ягнят.
Cursed shalt thou be in thy coming in, and cursed shalt thou be in thy going out.
Господь проклянёт тебя во всём, что ты делаешь, во все времена.
Jehovah will send upon thee cursing, confusion, and rebuke, in all the business of thy hand which thou doest, until thou be destroyed and until thou perish quickly, because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
Если ты сотворишь зло и отвернёшься от Господа, Он будет посылать тебе зло, смятение и несчастье во всём, что ты делаешь, до тех пор, пока ты не будешь быстро и полностью истреблён, ибо ты отвернулся от Него и покинул Его.
Jehovah will make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
Господь будет наводить на тебя ужасные болезни, пока не истребит тебя и пока ты не исчезнешь с лица земли, которой собираешься овладеть.
Jehovah will smite thee with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with burning ague, and with drought, and with blight, and with mildew, and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
Господь поразит тебя болезнями, лихорадкой и воспалением. Господь пошлёт тебе палящий зной, и твой урожай погибнет от жары и болезни. Эти несчастья будут преследовать тебя, пока ты не погибнешь.
And thy heavens which are over thy head shall be brass, and the earth which is under thee, iron.
Небо будет словно полированная медь, а земля под тобой будет жёсткой, как железо.
Jehovah will give as the rain of thy land powder and dust; from the heavens shall it come down upon thee until thou be destroyed.
Господь не пошлёт тебе дождя, только песок и пыль будут падать на тебя с неба, пока не погибнешь.
Jehovah will give thee up smitten before thine enemies; thou shalt go out against them one way, and by seven ways shalt thou flee before them; and thou shalt be driven hither and thither into all the kingdoms of the earth.
Господь даст твоим врагам победить тебя: одним путём ты выступишь против них, а семью путями побежишь от них, и все народы устрашатся бедствий, которые постигнут тебя.
And thy carcase shall be meat unto all the fowl of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and there shall be no man to scare them away.
И будут трупы твои пищей диким птицам и зверям, и некому будет отогнать их.
Jehovah will smite thee with the ulcers of Egypt, and with boils, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
Господь поразит тебя нарывами, как те, которыми поразил египтян, поразит тебя опухолями, мокнущими язвами и неизлечимой чесоткой.
Jehovah will smite thee with madness, and with blindness, and with astonishment of heart;
Господь поразит тебя безумием, ослепит и смутит тебя,
and thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways; and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled continually, and there shall be none to save.
так что среди ясного дня тебе придётся находить дорогу наощупь, как слепцу. Во всех начинаниях будет тебе неудача, и будут тебя обижать и обкрадывать снова и снова, и некому будет спасти тебя.
Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her; thou shalt build a house, and thou shalt not dwell therein; thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not eat of it.
Обручишься с женщиной, но другой будет иметь с ней половое сношение. Построишь дом, но не будешь жить в нём. Посадишь виноградник, но ничего с него не соберёшь.
Thine ox shall be slaughtered before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof; thine ass shall be snatched away from before thy face, and shall not return to thee; thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to recover them.
На глазах у тебя заколят твоих волов, и ты не будешь есть их мяса, заберут ослов твоих, и не возвратят тебе. Враги заберут твоих овец, и некому будет спасти тебя.
Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and languish for them all the day long; and there shall be no power in thy hand [to help it].
Другим народам будет дозволено забрать твоих сыновей и дочерей, и ты будешь искать детей своих день за днём, будешь искать их, пока не ослабеют и не ослепнут глаза твои, но не найдёшь их. И Бог не поможет тебе.
The fruit of thy ground and all thy labour, shall a people that thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed continually.
Неизвестный тебе народ захватит твой урожай и всё, ради чего ты трудился. Они будут притеснять и мучить тебя,
And thou shalt be mad through the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
и ты лишишься разума от всего, что увидишь!
Jehovah will smite thee in the knees and in the legs with evil ulcers, whereof thou canst not be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
Господь поразит тебя открытыми нарывами, от которых нельзя излечиться, и они будут у тебя на коленях, на бёдрах и по всему телу, от ступней ноги до самого темени.
Jehovah will bring thee, and thy king whom thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation that neither thou nor thy fathers have known, and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
Господь отошлёт тебя и царя твоего к неизвестному тебе народу, которого никогда не видел ни ты, ни предки твои, и там ты станешь служить лжебогам, сделанным из дерева и камня.
And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all the peoples whither Jehovah shall lead thee.
В тех странах, куда отошлёт тебя Господь, народ будет потрясён твоими злоключениями, и будут они смеяться над тобой и злословить о тебе.
Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather little in; for the locust shall devour it.
Твои поля родят обилие зерна, но урожай будет малым, ибо его съест саранча.
Thou shalt plant and till vineyards, but shalt drink no wine, nor gather [the fruit]; for the worms shall eat it.
Посадишь виноградники и будешь тяжко трудиться на них, но не соберёшь с них винограда и не будешь пить вина, ибо виноград съедят черви.
Olive-trees shalt thou have throughout all thy borders, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with oil; for thine olive-tree shall cast its fruit.
На твоей земле повсюду будут оливковые деревья, но масла у тебя не будет, ибо маслины упадут на землю и сгниют.
Sons and daughters shalt thou beget, but thou shalt not have them [to be with thee]; for they shall go into captivity.
У тебя будут сыновья и дочери, но ты не сможешь их сохранить, ибо их уведут в плен.
All thy trees and the fruit of thy ground shall the locust possess.
Саранча погубит все твои деревья и весь урожай у тебя в полях.
The sojourner that is in thy midst shall rise above thee higher and higher, and thou shalt sink down lower and lower.
Живущие среди тебя пришельцы будут захватывать всё больше и больше власти, ты же утратишь власть, которую имел.
He shall lend to thee, but thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
Пришельцы будут давать тебе взаймы, тебе же нечего будет дать им; они станут головой, а ты будешь хвостом.
And all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, until thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee.
Все эти проклятия падут на тебя, будут преследовать и одолевать тебя, пока не будешь истреблён, ибо ты не слушал, что говорит Господь, Бог твой, не исполнял заповеди и законы, которые Он дал тебе.
And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
Эти проклятия будут для народов знамением того, что Бог навечно осудил тебя и твоих потомков, и народы ужаснутся тому, что с тобой случится.
Because thou servedst not Jehovah thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything,
Господь, Бог твой, послал тебе многие благословения, но ты не служил Ему с радостью и весельем в сердце,
thou shalt serve thine enemies whom Jehovah will send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of everything; and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
и потому будешь служить врагам, которых Господь послал против тебя. Ты будешь томим голодом и жаждой, будешь наг и беден, Господь возложит на тебя бремя, которое не снимется, и будешь нести это бремя, пока Он не истребит тебя.
Jehovah will bring a nation against thee from afar, from the end of the earth, like as the eagle flieth, a nation whose tongue thou understandest not;
Господь приведёт издалека народ, чтобы он сразился с тобой. Как орёл налетит он на тебя, и ты не будешь понимать его языка.
a nation of fierce countenance, which regardeth not the person of the old, nor is kind to the young;
Эти люди будут жестоки, не будут заботиться о стариках и не окажут милосердия детям.
and he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy ground, until thou be destroyed; for he shall not leave thee corn, new wine, or oil, offspring of thy kine, or increase of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
Они будут отбирать у тебя скот и то, что ты выращиваешь себе на пропитание, будут всё отбирать, пока не разорят тебя, не оставив ни зерна, ни вина, ни масла, ни коров, ни овец, ни коз; всё будут отбирать, пока не погубят тебя.
And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and strong walls wherein thou trustedst come down, throughout all thy land; and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates in all thy land, which Jehovah thy God hath given thee.
Этот народ окружит твои города и нападёт на них, и хотя ты будешь надеяться, что высокие крепкие стены вокруг городов защитят тебя, эти стены падут, и враг окружит все города по всей твоей земле, которую Господь, Бог твой, даёт тебе.
And in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee, thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters whom Jehovah thy God hath given thee.
Страдания твои будут ужасны: враг окружит твои города, лишит тебя пищи, и от страшного голода ты станешь поедать своих сыновей и дочерей, будешь поедать плоть детей, которых Господь, Бог твой, дал тебе.
The eye of the man in thy midst that is tender and very luxurious shall be evil towards his brother, and the wife of his bosom, and the residue of his children which he hath left;
Даже самый мягкий и добрый среди вас станет безжалостным; он будет безжалостен и к другим, и к жене, которую горячо любит, и к своим детям, которые останутся в живых.
so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children that he eateth, because he hath nothing left him in the siege and in the straitness wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
И когда ему больше нечего будет есть, он съест собственных детей и не поделится их плотью ни с кем, даже с собственной семьёй. И всё это случится, когда твой враг придёт и, окружив твои города, причинит тебе страдания.
The eye of the tender and luxurious woman in thy midst who would not attempt to set the sole of her foot upon the ground from luxuriousness and from tenderness, shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and her son, and her daughter,
Даже самая мягкая и добрая среди вас станет безжалостной. Даже если она так изнежена, что никогда не ступала на землю ногой, всё равно станет безжалостной к мужу своему, которого горячо любит, и к сыну своему, и к дочери своей.
because of her afterbirth which hath come out between her feet, and her children whom she shall bear; for she shall secretly eat them for want of everything in the siege and in the straitness wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
И тайно родив ребёнка, она съест и ребёнка, и всё, что вместе с ним исторгнет её тело. Всё это случится, когда придёт твой враг, и, окружив твои города, причинит тебе страдания.
If thou wilt not take heed to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, to fear this glorious and fearful name, JEHOVAH THY GOD;
Так исполняй же все заповеди и учения, записанные в этой книге, и почитай славное и грозное имя Господа, Бога твоего, а если не исполнишь, то
then Jehovah will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, great and persistent plagues and evil and persistent sicknesses;
Господь пошлёт тебе и твоим потомкам бесчисленные бедствия. Твои бедствия и болезни будут ужасны!
and he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt which thou art afraid of, and they shall cleave unto thee.
Ты видел в Египте много бедствий и болезней, вселивших в тебя страх, и Господь пошлёт всё это зло против тебя.
Also every sickness and every plague which is not written in the book of this law, them will Jehovah bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
Господь будет посылать тебе всяческие бедствия и болезни, которые не записаны в книге закона, пока ты не будешь истреблён.
And ye shall be left a small company, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou hast not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah thy God.
И хотя вы многочисленны, словно звёзды в небе, лишь немногие из вас уцелеют, ибо ты не слушал Господа, Бога твоего.
And it shall come to pass, that as Jehovah rejoiced over you to do you good and to multiply you, so Jehovah will rejoice over you to cause you to perish, and to destroy you; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whereunto thou goest to possess it.
И как радовался Господь, делая вам добро и умножая вас, так будет радоваться Он, губя и уничтожая вас, и вы будете изгнаны с той земли, которую собираетесь захватить.
And Jehovah will scatter thee among all peoples, from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; and thou shalt there serve other gods, whom thou hast not known, neither thou nor thy fathers, wood and stone.
Господь рассеет вас среди народов мира, Господь рассеет вас от одного края земли до другого, и вы будете там служить лжебогам, сделанным из дерева и камня, которым не поклонялся ни ты, ни предки твои.
And among these nations shalt thou have no rest, neither shall the sole of thy foot have a resting-place, and Jehovah shall give thee there a trembling heart, languishing of the eyes, and pining of the soul.
Не будет тебе мира среди этих народов, не будет тебе места для отдыха, Господь наполнит твой ум тревогой, а глаза усталостью, и будешь ты в смятении.
And thy life shall hang in suspense before thee; and thou shalt be in terror day and night and shalt be afraid of thy life.
Жизнь твоя будет всегда в опасности, ты будешь жить в страхе, будешь трепетать днём и ночью и не будешь уверен в своей жизни.
In the morning thou shalt say, Would that it were even! and in the evening thou shalt say, Would that it were morning! through the fright of thy heart wherewith thou shalt be in terror, and through the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
Утром будешь говорить: "О, если бы пришёл вечер!", а вечером будешь говорить: "О, если бы наступило утро!", ибо в сердце твоём будет страх, и увидишь ты зло великое.
And Jehovah will bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I said unto thee, Thou shalt see it again no more; and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and there shall be no man to buy [you].
Господь возвратит тебя в Египет на кораблях, и хотя я сказал, что тебе никогда больше не придётся идти туда, Господь отправит тебя туда. В Египте ты станешь продавать себя в рабство своим врагам, но никто не купит тебя!"
