Darby Bible Translation

English Standard Version

  • The Collection for the Saints

Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the assemblies of Galatia, so do *ye* do also.
  • The Collection for the Saints

Now concerninga the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do.
  • On [the] first of [the] week let each of you put by at home, laying up [in] whatever [degree] he may have prospered, that there may be no collections when I come.
  • On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.
  • And when I am arrived, whomsoever ye shall approve, these I will send with letters to carry your bounty to Jerusalem:
  • And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem.
  • and if it be suitable that *I* also should go, they shall go with me.
  • If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.
  • Paul's Plans for Travel

But I will come to you when I shall have gone through Macedonia; for I do go through Macedonia.
  • Plans for Travel

I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia,
  • But perhaps I will stay with you, or even winter with you, that *ye* may set me forward wheresoever I may go.
  • and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go.
  • For I will not see you now in passing, for I hope to remain a certain time with you, if the Lord permit.
  • For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.
  • But I remain in Ephesus until Pentecost.
  • But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost,
  • For a great door is opened to me and an effectual [one], and [the] adversaries many.
  • for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
  • Timothy Commended

Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear; for he works the work of the Lord, even as I.
  • When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am.
  • Let not therefore any one despise him; but set him forward in peace, that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brethren.
  • So let no one despise him. Help him on his way in peace, that he may return to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers.
  • Now concerning the brother Apollos, I begged him much that he would go to you with the brethren; but it was not at all [his] will to go now; but he will come when he shall have good opportunity.
  • Final Instructions

Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but it was not at all his willb to come now. He will come when he has opportunity.
  • Concluding Exhortations

Be vigilant; stand fast in the faith; quit yourselves like men; be strong.
  • Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
  • Let all things ye do be done in love.
  • Let all that you do be done in love.
  • But I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first-fruits of Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the saints for service,)
  • Now I urge you, brothersc — you know that the householdd of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints —
  • that *ye* should also be subject to such, and to every one joined in the work and labouring.
  • be subject to such as these, and to every fellow worker and laborer.
  • But I rejoice in the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus; because *they* have supplied what was lacking on your part.
  • I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence,
  • For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: own therefore such.
  • for they refreshed my spirit as well as yours. Give recognition to such people.
  • Paul's Final Greetings

The assemblies of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla, with the assembly in their house, salute you much in [the] Lord.
  • Greetings

The churches of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Prisca, together with the church in their house, send you hearty greetings in the Lord.
  • All the brethren salute you. Salute one another with a holy kiss.
  • All the brothers send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
  • The salutation of [me] Paul with my own hand.
  • I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand.
  • If any one love not the Lord [Jesus Christ] let him be Anathema Maranatha.
  • If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!e
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you.
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
  • My love [be] with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
  • My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
