The Collection for the Saints

Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the assemblies of Galatia, so do *ye* do also.

Щодо підтримки людям Божим, то робіть те, що я наказав робити по церквах галатських.

On [the] first of [the] week let each of you put by at home, laying up [in] whatever [degree] he may have prospered, that there may be no collections when I come.

В перший день кожного тижня кожен з вас мусить відкласти щось з прибутку і покласти до скарбниці, щоб не збирати, коли я прийду.

3

And when I am arrived, whomsoever ye shall approve, these I will send with letters to carry your bounty to Jerusalem:

Коли ж я прийду, то відправлю вибраних вами людей з листами й дарунками вашими до Єрусалиму.

and if it be suitable that *I* also should go, they shall go with me.

А якщо буде доречно і мені йти, то піду і я з ними.

Paul's Plans for Travel

But I will come to you when I shall have gone through Macedonia; for I do go through Macedonia.

Прийду я до вас, перетнувши Македонію, бо у планах моїх — побувати там.

But perhaps I will stay with you, or even winter with you, that *ye* may set me forward wheresoever I may go.

Можливо, я трохи затримаюся з вами або навіть і перезимую. І тоді ви допоможете мені в подорожі, хоч куди б я йшов.

For I will not see you now in passing, for I hope to remain a certain time with you, if the Lord permit.

Я не хочу зараз заходити до вас мимохідь, бо сподіваюся деякий час погостювати у вас, якщо буде Господня воля.

But I remain in Ephesus until Pentecost.

В Ефесі ж я пробуду до свята П’ятдесятниці,

For a great door is opened to me and an effectual [one], and [the] adversaries many.

бо зараз є нагода плідно попрацювати, хоч багато хто перешкоджає мені.

Timothy Commended

Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear; for he works the work of the Lord, even as I.

Якщо прийде Тимофій, то подбайте, щоб йому було затишно серед вас, щоб його ніхто даремно не турбував. Бо робить він справу Господню, як і я.

Let not therefore any one despise him; but set him forward in peace, that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brethren.

Тож нехай ніхто не зневажає його. Відправте його з миром, щоб він міг прийти до мене. Я чекаю його, як і інших братів.

Now concerning the brother Apollos, I begged him much that he would go to you with the brethren; but it was not at all [his] will to go now; but he will come when he shall have good opportunity.

Щодо брата нашого Аполлоса, то я дуже радив йому відвідати вас разом з іншими братами. Та не було Божої волі на те, щоб він прийшов зараз. Тож прийде він лише тоді, коли з’явиться нагода.

Concluding Exhortations

Be vigilant; stand fast in the faith; quit yourselves like men; be strong.

Пильнуйте! Будьте непохитні у вірі своїй! Будьте мужні й міцні!

14

Let all things ye do be done in love.

14

Все, що ви робите, робіть з любов’ю.

15

But I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first-fruits of Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the saints for service,)

15-16

Ви знаєте, що родина Степанова була першою віруючою родиною в Ахаї. Вони присвятили себе служінню Божим людям. Тож благаю вас, брати і сестри, щоб ви корилися таким людям і всім, хто єднається з ними в праці і служінні Господу.

that *ye* should also be subject to such, and to every one joined in the work and labouring.

17

But I rejoice in the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus; because *they* have supplied what was lacking on your part.

17-18

Я радий, що до мене прийшли Степан, Фортунат і Ахаїк, бо вони зайняли достойне місце у відсутність вашу, заспокоївши мій дух і ваш. Шануйте таких людей.

For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: own therefore such.

19

Paul's Final Greetings

The assemblies of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla, with the assembly in their house, salute you much in [the] Lord.

Церкви азіатські вітають вас. Акила і Прискилла шлють вам палке вітання у Господі разом із церквою, що збирається в їхньому домі.

20

All the brethren salute you. Salute one another with a holy kiss.

Всі брати вітають вас. Вітайте одне одного святим поцілунком.[33]
