Paul and Apollos God's Fellow Workers

And *I*, brethren, have not been able to speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly; as to babes in Christ.

1

Однак, брати, я не міг говорити до вас як до духовних, але як до тілесних, як до немовлят у Христі.

2

I have given you milk to drink, not meat, for ye have not yet been able, nor indeed are ye yet able;

Я годував вас молоком, а не твердою їжею, тому що ви не могли їсти, та й тепер ще не можете,

for ye are yet carnal. For whereas [there are] among you emulation and strife, are ye not carnal, and walk according to man?

бо ви ще тілесні. Адже коли між вами є заздрість, суперечки [й розділення], то хіба ви не тілесні, хіба ви не поводитеся по-людському?

For when one says, *I* am of Paul, and another, *I* of Apollos, are ye not men?

Бо коли хтось каже: Я — Павлів, а інший: Я — Аполлосів, то чи ж ви не [тілесні] люди?

5

Who then is Apollos, and who Paul? Ministering servants, through whom ye have believed, and as the Lord has given to each.

Хто такий Аполлос? Або хто Павло? [Вони тільки] служителі, через яких ви повірили, — кому скільки вділив Господь.

*I* have planted; Apollos watered; but God has given the increase.

6

Я посадив, Аполлос поливав, та зростив Бог.

So that neither the planter is anything, nor the waterer; but God the giver of the increase.

Тому ні той, хто садить, ні той, хто поливає, не є чимось, але Бог, Який вирощує!

8

But the planter and the waterer are one; but each shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

Хто садить і хто поливає, є одне; кожний одержить особисту нагороду згідно зі своєю працею.

9

For we are God's fellow-workmen; ye are God's husbandry, God's building.

Бо ми є Божими співпрацівниками; ви є Божою нивою, Божою будівлею.

10

Christ the Only Foundation

According to the grace of God which has been given to me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation, but another builds upon it. But let each see how he builds upon it.

10

Згідно з Божою благодаттю, яка мені дана, я, немов той мудрий будівничий, поклав підвалину, а інший будує на ній. Тож нехай кожний пильнує, як будує!

For other foundation can no man lay besides that which [is] laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Адже ніхто не може покласти іншої основи, крім уже покладеної, а нею є Ісус Христос.

12

Now if any one build upon [this] foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, grass, straw,

Коли хто будує на [цій] основі із золота, срібла, коштовного каміння, дерева, сіна чи соломи,

13

the work of each shall be made manifest; for the day shall declare [it], because it is revealed in fire; and the fire shall try the work of each what it is.

13

то діло кожного виявиться; день покаже, бо виявляється вогнем; сам же вогонь і випробує діло кожного, — яким воно є.

14

If the work of any one which he has built upon [the foundation] shall abide, he shall receive a reward.

14

Коли чиєсь діло, яке він збудував, устоїть, той одержить нагороду,

15

If the work of any one shall be consumed, he shall suffer loss, but *he* shall be saved, but so as through [the] fire.

15

а чиє діло згорить, той зазнає шкоди; втім, сам він спасеться, та наче через вогонь.

16

You are God's Temple

Do ye not know that ye are [the] temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwells in you?

16

Хіба не знаєте, що ви — храм Божий, і що Божий Дух живе в вас?

17

If any one corrupt the temple of God, *him* shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, and such are *ye*.

17

Якщо хто нищить Божий храм, того знищить Бог, адже Божий храм святий, а ним є ви.

18

Let no one deceive himself: if any one thinks himself to be wise among you in this world, let him become foolish, that he may be wise.

18

Хай ніхто себе не обманює. Якщо комусь між вами здається, що він мудрий у цьому віці, нехай стане нерозумним, аби стати мудрим.

19

Worldly Wisdom is Foolishness to God

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God; for it is written, He who takes the wise in their craftiness.

19

Адже мудрість цього світу є безумством у Бога. Як написано: Він ловить премудрих у їхніх хитрощах.

20

And again, [The] Lord knows the reasonings of the wise that they are vain.

20

І знову: Господь знає думки мудрих, що вони марні.

21

So that let no one boast in men; for all things are yours.

21

Тому хай ніхто не хвалиться між людьми, бо все воно ваше:

22

Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or [the] world, or life, or death, or things present, or things coming, all are yours;
