Ministers of a New Covenant

Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or do we need, as some, commendatory letters to you, or [commendatory] from you?

Хіба ми починаємо знову самих себе представляти? Чи потребуємо, як деякі, рекомендаційних листів до вас або від вас?

*Ye* are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read of all men,

Наш лист — це ви; він написаний у наших серцях, його знають і читають усі люди.

being manifested to be Christ's epistle ministered by us, written, not with ink, but [the] Spirit of [the] living God; not on stone tables, but on fleshy tables of [the] heart.

Ви показуєте собою, що, завдяки нашому служінню, ви — лист Христа, написаний не чорнилом, а Духом Живого Бога, не на кам’яних скрижалях, а на тілесних скрижалях ваших сердець.

And such confidence have we through the Christ towards God:

not that we are competent of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our competency [is] of God;

who has also made us competent, [as] ministers of [the] new covenant; not of letter, but of spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit quickens.

Який і дозволив нам стати служителями Нового Завіту — не букви, але Духа, адже буква вбиває, а Дух оживляє.

The Glory of the New Covenant

(But if the ministry of death, in letters, graven in stones, began with glory, so that the children of Israel could not fix their eyes on the face of Moses, on account of the glory of his face, [a glory] which is annulled;

І якщо служіння смерті, викарбуване буквами на камені, було таке славне, що ізраїльські сини не могли дивитися на обличчя Мойсея через минаючу славу його обличчя,

how shall not rather the ministry of the Spirit subsist in glory?

8

то наскільки славнішим буде служіння Духа!

9

For if the ministry of condemnation [be] glory, much rather the ministry of righteousness abounds in glory.

Бо коли служіння осуду — слава, то служіння праведності набагато перевершує його в славі.

10

For also that [which was] glorified is not glorified in this respect, on account of the surpassing glory.

Адже в цьому відношенні не прославилося прославлене — через надмірну славу.

For if that annulled [was introduced] with glory, much rather that which abides [subsists] in glory.

Бо коли те, що минає, — славне, то набагато більшим є те, що постійно перебуває в славі.

Having therefore such hope, we use much boldness:

Тому, маючи таку надію, діємо з великою сміливістю,

and not according as Moses put a veil on his own face, so that the children of Israel should not fix their eyes on the end of that annulled.

а не як Мойсей, який ховав під покривалом своє обличчя, аби сини Ізраїлеві не дивилися на кінець того, що проминає.

14

But their thoughts have been darkened, for unto this day the same veil remains in reading the old covenant, unremoved, which in Christ is annulled.

Але їхнє сприйняття закрите. Бо аж по цей день під час читання Старого Завіту залишається не знятим це покривало, адже воно знімається в Христі.

15

But unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil lies upon their heart.

15

І сьогодні, коли читають книги Мойсея, покривало все ще лежить на їхньому серці.

16

But when it shall turn to [the] Lord, the veil is taken away.)

16

Коли ж хто навертається до Господа, покривало спадає.

17

Now the Lord is the Spirit, but where the Spirit of [the] Lord [is, there is] liberty.

17

Господь є Дух, а де Господній Дух, [там] свобода.

18

But *we* all, looking on the glory of the Lord, with unveiled face, are transformed according to the same image from glory to glory, even as by [the] Lord [the] Spirit.

18

Ми ж усі з відкритим обличчям, мов у дзеркалі, оглядаємо Господню славу і перетворюємося в той самий образ від слави в славу, як від Господнього Духа.
