Ministers of a New Covenant

Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or do we need, as some, commendatory letters to you, or [commendatory] from you?

Не начинаем ли мы снова сами себя расхваливать? Или же нужны нам письма к вам или от вас, как некоторым другим людям? Разумеется, нет!

*Ye* are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read of all men,

Вы и есть наше письмо, написанное в сердцах наших, известное всем и прочитанное всеми.

being manifested to be Christ's epistle ministered by us, written, not with ink, but [the] Spirit of [the] living God; not on stone tables, but on fleshy tables of [the] heart.

Вы показываете, что вы — письмо Христово, написанное не чернилами, а Духом Бога живого, написанное не на скрижалях каменных, а на сердцах человеческих.

And such confidence have we through the Christ towards God:

Благодаря Христу мы можем с уверенностью утверждать это перед Богом.

not that we are competent of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our competency [is] of God;

И не потому, что мы сами можем заявить, что это исходит от нас, но способность наша исходит от Бога. Эта уверенность исходит от Бога,

who has also made us competent, [as] ministers of [the] new covenant; not of letter, but of spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit quickens.

Кто сделал нас исполнителями Своего нового Соглашения со Своим народом, Соглашения, основанного не на письменном законе, а на духе, ибо письменный закон убивает, дух же даёт жизнь.

The Glory of the New Covenant

(But if the ministry of death, in letters, graven in stones, began with glory, so that the children of Israel could not fix their eyes on the face of Moses, on account of the glory of his face, [a glory] which is annulled;

Но если служение смерти, словами высеченное на камне, было так славно, что народ Израиля не мог смотреть в лицо Моисею, сиявшее этой славой, хотя такая слава и затмевается позднее,

how shall not rather the ministry of the Spirit subsist in glory?

то как же может служение духа не оказаться ещё более славным?

For if the ministry of condemnation [be] glory, much rather the ministry of righteousness abounds in glory.

Ибо, если служение осуждения было славно, то насколько же более славно служение оправдания перед Богом.

10

For also that [which was] glorified is not glorified in this respect, on account of the surpassing glory.

10

Потому что то, что исполнено было славы в том случае, затмевается славой нового служения.

11

For if that annulled [was introduced] with glory, much rather that which abides [subsists] in glory.

Ибо, если то служение, которому суждено затмение, славно, то это непреходящее служение ещё более славно.

Having therefore such hope, we use much boldness:

Так как у нас есть надежда на это, мы смелы в своих речах

and not according as Moses put a veil on his own face, so that the children of Israel should not fix their eyes on the end of that annulled.

и не уподобляемся Моисею, который скрывал своё лицо за пеленой, чтобы не видел народ Израиля конец проходящей славы.

14

But their thoughts have been darkened, for unto this day the same veil remains in reading the old covenant, unremoved, which in Christ is annulled.

Но их умы ослеплены, ибо по сей день остаётся неподнятой эта пелена при чтении закона, ибо она будет поднята только через Христа.

15

But unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil lies upon their heart.

15

Но по сей день, когда читают закон Моисея, пелена остаётся у всех на сердцах.

16

But when it shall turn to [the] Lord, the veil is taken away.)

16

Когда же обращается человек к Господу, эта пелена спадает.

17

Now the Lord is the Spirit, but where the Spirit of [the] Lord [is, there is] liberty.

17

Господь же, о Ком я говорю, — это Дух, где же Дух Господний, там и свобода.

18

But *we* all, looking on the glory of the Lord, with unveiled face, are transformed according to the same image from glory to glory, even as by [the] Lord [the] Spirit.

18

Но все мы, с незакрытыми лицами, словно в зеркале созерцая славу Господню, превращаемся в подобие Его во всевозрастающей славе Его — и преображение это от Господа, то есть от Духа.
