Lands Yet Unconquered

And Joshua was old, advanced in age, and Jehovah said to him, Thou art old, advanced in age, and there remaineth yet very much land to take possession of.

1

Старійшина Ісус досягнув похилого віку, і Господь промовив до Ісуса: Ти досягнув похилого віку, а для успадкування залишилося багато землі.

2

This is the land that yet remaineth: all the districts of the Philistines and all the Geshurites,

Ось це земля, що залишилась: околиці филистимські, Ґесіра і Ханаанець, —

3

from the Shihor, which [floweth] before Egypt, as far as the borders of Ekron northward, [and which] is counted to the Canaanite; five lordships of the Philistines: of Gazah, and of Ashdod, of Eshkalon, of Gath, and of Ekron; also the Avvites;

від незаселеної землі, що напроти Єгипту, до границь Аккарона з лівої сторони ханаанців, яка зараховується до п’ятьох володінь филистимців — фазейського, азотського, аскалонського, ґеттейського і аккаронського.

in the south, the whole land of the Canaanites, and Mearah which [belongeth] to the Sidonians, unto Aphek, to the border of the Amorites;

І до Евея з Темана, і до всієї Ханаанської землі перед Ґазою, і сидонські, аж до Афека, до аморейських границь,

5

and the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sun-rising, from Baal-Gad at the foot of mount Hermon to the entrance into Hamath;

і всю землю филистимського Ґавлі, і весь Ліван від сходу сонця, від Ґалґала, від гори Аермонської аж до входу в Емат.

all the inhabitants of the hill-country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, all the Sidonians; I will dispossess them from before the children of Israel. Only, partition it by lot to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

Усі, хто живе в горах від Лівану аж до Масерефотмаїма, усіх сидонців, Я їх вигублю з-перед Ізраїля, отже, роздай її Ізраїлеві в спадок, як Я тобі заповів.

And now divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and to half the tribe of Manasseh;

Тепер же розміряй цю землю у спадок дев’ятьом племенам і половині племені Манасії, — від Йордану аж до Великого моря на захід сонця даси її, Велике море буде границею.

Inheritance East of Jordan

with him the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them:

А двом племенам (Рувимові й Ґадові) та половині племені Манасії Мойсей дав на другому боці Йордану, на схід сонця. Дав її Мойсей, Господній слуга,

9

from Aroer, which is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the ravine, and all the plateau of Medeba to Dibon,

від Ароіра, що є при гирлі потоку Арнона, і місто, що на середині долини, і весь Місор, від Медави аж до Девана,

10

and all the cities of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, to the border of the children of Ammon;

10

усі міста Сеона, царя аморейського, який був царем в Есевоні, аж до границь синів Аммона,

11

and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and the whole of Bashan to Salcah;

11

і Ґалаадітиду, границі Ґесіра і Махати, усю гору Аермона і всю Васанітиду аж до Селхи,

12

all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned at Ashtaroth and at Edrei, who remained of the residue of the giants; and Moses smote them and dispossessed them.

усе царство Оґа у Васанітиді, який царював у Астароті та в Едраїні. Він один залишився з гігантів, та Мойсей розгромив його і вигубив.

13

But the children of Israel did not dispossess the Geshurites nor the Maachathites; but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites to this day.

Але ізраїльські сини не вигубили Ґесіра, Махата і ханаанця, і живе цар Ґесіра і Махата між ізраїльськими синами аж до сьогоднішнього дня.

14

Only to the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance: the offerings by fire of Jehovah the God of Israel are their inheritance, as he said to them.

Лише племені Левія не дано спадку; Господь, ізраїльський Бог, Він — їхній спадок, як і сказав їм Господь. Ось це — розподіл, який визначив Мойсей синам ізраїльським в Аравоті моавському на другому боці Йордану, напроти Єрихону.

15

And Moses gave [a portion] to the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families.

15

І дав Мойсей племені Рувима за їхніми родами.

16

And their territory was from Aroer, which is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the ravine, and all the plateau by Medeba;

16

Їхні границі були від Ароіра, що є напроти долини Арнона, і місто, що в долині Арнона, і весь Місор,

17

Heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plateau, Dibon, and Bamoth-Baal, and Beth-Baal-meon,

17

18

And Jahzah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

18

19

and Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar in the mountain of the vale,

20

and Beth-Peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;

all the cities of the plateau, and the whole kingdom of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, whom Moses smote, him and the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the chiefs of Sihon dwelling in the land.

усі міста Місора і все царство Сеона, аморейського царя, якого розгромив Мойсей, його і володарів Мадіяма, Евія, Рокома, Сура, Ора і Ровея, володарів при Сеоні, і тих, які жили в землі,

22

Balaam Slain

And Balaam the son of Beor, the diviner, did the children of Israel kill with the sword among them that were slain by them.

22

і Валаама, сина Веора, віщуна також тоді вбили.

23

And the border of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and [its] border. This is the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and their hamlets.

23

А границі Рувима були: околиці Йордану. Це — спадок синів Рувима за їхніми родами, їхні міста і їхні поселення.

24

And Moses gave [a portion] to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad according to their families.

24

І дав Мойсей синам Ґада за їхніми родами,

25

And their territory was Jaazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer which is before Rabbah;

25

і їхні границі були: Язира, усі міста Ґалааду і половина землі синів Аммона, аж до Ароіра, що є напроти Равви,

26

and from Heshbon to Ramath-Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir;

26

і від Есевона аж до Рамота, напроти Масифи, Вотаніна і Маанена, аж до околиць Давіра,

27

and in the valley, Beth-haram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon the king of Heshbon, the Jordan and [its] border, as far as the edge of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.

і в Емеці ветарамському, Ветанаври, Сокхот, Сафан і частину царства Сеона, царя Есевона, яка залишилася, а Йордан буде межею, — аж до частини моря Хенерета на другому боці Йордану на сході.

28

This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and their hamlets.

28

Це — спадок синів Ґада за їхніми родами, їхні міста і їхні поселення.

29

And Moses gave [a portion] to half the tribe of Manasseh; and for half the tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families:

29

І дав Мойсей половині племені Манасії за їхніми родами,

30

their territory was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, the whole kingdom of Og the king of Bashan, and all the villages of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities.

30

а границі їхні були від Маанема, і включали все царство Васанії, усе царство Оґа, царя Васана, і всі поселення Яіра, що є у Васанітіді, — шістдесят міст,

31

And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, [belonged] to the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, to the one half of the children of Machir according to their families.

31

і половину Ґалааду в Астароті та в Едраїні, міста царства Оґа у Васанітіді, і дані були синам Махіра, сина Манасії (половині синів Махіра, сина Манасії) за їхніми родами.

32

This is that which Moses allotted for inheritance in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan of Jericho, eastward.

32

Це ті, кому Мойсей дав спадок на другому боці Йордану в Аравоті моавському, — на другому боці Йордану, напроти Єрихону, на сході.
