Warnings against False Teachers

But the Spirit speaks expressly, that in latter times some shall apostatise from the faith, giving their mind to deceiving spirits and teachings of demons

speaking lies in hypocrisy, cauterised as to their own conscience,

Такие учения придут через лицемерие лжецов с совестью, клейменной каленым железом,10

forbidding to marry, [bidding] to abstain from meats, which God has created for receiving with thanksgiving for them who are faithful and know the truth.

которые запрещают людям жениться, запрещают употреблять те или иные виды пищи, созданной Богом для того, чтобы верующие и знающие истину ели с благодарностью.

For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing [is] to be rejected, being received with thanksgiving;

for it is sanctified by God's word and freely addressing [him].

A Good Minister of Jesus Christ

Laying these things before the brethren, thou wilt be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished with the words of the faith and of the good teaching which thou hast fully followed up.

Если ты, Тимофей, будешь говорить об этом братьям, то будешь хорошим служителем Христа Иисуса, питаемым словами веры и здравого учения, которому ты последовал.

But profane and old wives' fables avoid, but exercise thyself unto piety;

Не трать время на безбожные россказни, пристойные разве что старухам, а развивай в себе благочестие.

for bodily exercise is profitable for a little, but piety is profitable for everything, having promise of life, of the present one, and of that to come.

Есть определенная польза в физических упражнениях, но благочестие полезно во всем, ведь оно обещает жизнь и в настоящем, и в будущем.

The word [is] faithful and worthy of all acceptation;

Это слово верно и заслуживает принятия.

for, for this we labour and suffer reproach, because we hope in a living God, who is preserver of all men, specially of those that believe.

Ради этого мы и трудимся, и ведем борьбу, потому что надеемся на живого Бога, Спасителя всех людей, а особенно11 тех, кто верен Ему.

Enjoin and teach these things.

Этого требуй от людей и этому учи их.

Let no one despise thy youth, but be a model of the believers, in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

Не позволяй никому смотреть на тебя с пренебрежением из-за твоей молодости. Будь для верных примером в словах, в жизни, любви, вере и чистоте.

Till I come, give thyself to reading, to exhortation, to teaching.

13

Пока я не приду, занимайся чтением,12 проповедью, учительством.

Be not negligent of the gift [that is] in thee, which has been given to thee through prophecy, with imposition of the hands of the elderhood.

Не пренебрегай даром, который был дан тебе через пророчество с возложением рук руководителей церкви.

Occupy thyself with these things; be wholly in them, that thy progress may be manifest to all.

Будь усерден в твоем служении, отдавайся ему полностью, чтобы все видели твой успех.

Give heed to thyself and to the teaching; continue in them; for, doing this, thou shalt save both thyself and those that hear thee.

Следи за собой и за тем, чему ты учишь. Будь верен этому учению, и если ты так будешь поступать, то спасешь и себя, и тех, кто слушает тебя.
