Darby Bible Translation

New King James Version

  • Evil in the Last Days

    But this know, that in [the] last days difficult times shall be there;
  • Perilous Times and Perilous Men

    But know this, that in the last days [a]perilous times will come:
  • for men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, evil speakers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, profane,
  • For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
  • without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, of unsubdued passions, savage, having no love for what is good,
  • unloving, [b]unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
  • traitors, headlong, of vain pretensions, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;
  • traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
  • having a form of piety but denying the power of it: and from these turn away.
  • having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
  • For of these are they who are getting into houses, and leading captive silly women, laden with sins, led by various lusts,
  • For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,
  • always learning, and never able to come to [the] knowledge of [the] truth.
  • always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
  • Now in the same manner in which Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, thus these also withstand the truth; men corrupted in mind, found worthless as regards the faith.
  • Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;
  • But they shall not advance farther; for their folly shall be completely manifest to all, as that of those also became.
  • but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
  • All Scripture is God-Breathed

    But *thou* hast been thoroughly acquainted with my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, endurance,
  • The Man of God and the Word of God

    But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance,
  • persecutions, sufferings: what [sufferings] happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured; and the Lord delivered me out of all.
  • persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra — what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.
  • And all indeed who desire to live piously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
  • Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
  • But wicked men and juggling impostors shall advance in evil, leading and being led astray.
  • But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
  • But *thou*, abide in those things which thou hast learned, and [of which] thou hast been fully persuaded, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them];
  • But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
  • and that from a child thou hast known the sacred letters, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation, through faith which [is] in Christ Jesus.
  • and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
  • Every scripture [is] divinely inspired, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;
  • All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [c]instruction in righteousness,
  • that the man of God may be complete, fully fitted to every good work.
  • that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
