Love for Brothers

Let brotherly love abide.

1

Братолю́бство нехай пробува́є між вами!

2

Be not forgetful of hospitality; for by it some have unawares entertained angels.

2

Не забувайте любови до при́ходнів, бо деякі нею, на́віть не ві́даючи, гостинно прийняли а́нголів.

3

Remember prisoners, as bound with [them]; those that are evil-treated, as being yourselves also in [the] body.

Пам'ятайте про в'я́знів, немов із ними були б ви пов'язані, про тих, хто страждає, як такі, що й самі ви знахо́дитесь в тілі.

4

[Let] marriage [be held] every way in honour, and the bed [be] undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers will God judge.

4

Нехай буде в усіх че́сний шлюб та ложе непоро́чне, а блу́дників та пере́любів судитиме Бог.

Jesus Christ is the Same

[Let your] conversation [be] without love of money, satisfied with [your] present circumstances; for *he* has said, I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.

Будьте життям не грошолюбні, задовольняйтеся тим, що́ маєте. Сам бо сказав: „Я тебе не покину, ані не відступлю́ся від тебе!“

So that, taking courage, we may say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not be afraid: what will man do unto me?

Тому́ то ми сміливо говоримо: „Господь — мені Помічни́к, і я не злякаюсь ніко́го: що зробить люди́на мені?“

Remember your leaders who have spoken to you the word of God; and considering the issue of their conversation, imitate their faith.

Спогадуйте наставників ваших, що вам говорили Слово Боже; і, дивлячися на кінець їхнього життя, переймайте їхню віру.

Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and to-day, and to the ages [to come].

Ісус Христос учора, і сьогодні, і навіки Той Са́мий!

9

Be not carried away with various and strange doctrines; for [it is] good that the heart be confirmed with grace, not meats; those who have walked in which have not been profited by [them].

Не захоплюйтеся всілякими та чужими науками. Бо річ добра зміцняти серця благода́ттю, а не стра́вами, що ко́ристи від них не оде́ржали ті, хто за ними ходив.

10

We have an altar of which they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle;

10

Маємо же́ртівника, що від нього годуватися права не мають ті, хто скинії служить, —

11

for of those beasts whose blood is carried [as sacrifices for sin] into the [holy of] holies by the high priest, of these the bodies are burned outside the camp.

бо котри́х звірят кров первосвященик уносить до святині за гріхи, тих м'ясо па́литься поза табо́ром, —

12

Wherefore also Jesus, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate:

12

тому́ то Ісус, щоб кров'ю Своєю людей освятити, постраждав поза брамою.

13

therefore let us go forth to him without the camp, bearing his reproach:

13

Тож виходьмо до Нього поза та́бір, і наругу Його понесімо,

14

for we have not here an abiding city, but we seek the coming one.

14

бо постійного міста не маємо тут, а шукаємо майбутнього!

15

Sacrifices and Prayer

By him therefore let us offer [the] sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, [the] fruit of [the] lips confessing his name.

15

Отож, за́вжди приносьмо Богові жертву хвали́, цебто плід уст, що Ім'я́ Його славлять.

16

But of doing good and communicating [of your substance] be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

16

Не забувайте ж і про доброчинність та спільність, бо жертви такі вгодні Богові.

17

Obey your leaders, and be submissive; for *they* watch over your souls as those that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not groaning, for this [would be] unprofitable for you.

17

Слухайтесь ваших наставників та коріться їм, — вони бо пильнують душ ваших, як ті, хто має здати справу. Нехай вони роблять це з радістю, а не зідхаючи, — бо це для вас не кори́сне.

18

Pray for us: for we persuade ourselves that we have a good conscience, in all things desirous to walk rightly.

18

Моліться за нас, бо наді́ємося, що ми маємо добре сумління, бо хочемо добре в усьому пово́дитись.

19

But I much more beseech [you] to do this, that I may the more quickly be restored to you.

19

А надто прошу́ це робити, щоб шви́дше до вас мене ве́рнено.

20

Benediction and Final Greetings

But the God of peace, who brought again from among [the] dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, in [the power of the] blood of [the] eternal covenant,

20

Бог же миру, що з мертвих підняв великого Па́стиря вівцям кров'ю вічного заповіту, Господа нашого Ісуса,

21

perfect you in every good work to the doing of his will, doing in you what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for the ages of ages. Amen.

21

нехай вас удоскона́лить у кожному доброму ділі, щоб волю чинити Його, чинячи в вас любе перед лицем Його через Ісуса Христа, Якому слава на віки вічні. Амі́нь.

22

But I beseech you, brethren, bear the word of exhortation, for it is but in few words that I have written to you.

22

Благаю ж вас, браття, прийміть слово поті́хи, бо коротко я написав вам.

23

Know that our brother Timotheus is set at liberty; with whom, if he should come soon, I will see you.

23

Знайте, що наш брат Тимофі́й вже ви́пущений, і я з ним; коли незаба́ром він при́йде, я вас побачу.

24

Salute all your leaders, and all the saints. They from Italy salute you.

24

Вітайте всіх ваших наставників та всіх святих. Вітають вас ті, хто в Італії.
