Love for Brothers

Let brotherly love abide.

1

Нехай утверджується братолюбність!

2

Be not forgetful of hospitality; for by it some have unawares entertained angels.

2

Не забувайте гостинності, бо завдяки їй деякі, не відаючи, гостинно прийняли ангелів.

3

Remember prisoners, as bound with [them]; those that are evil-treated, as being yourselves also in [the] body.

Пам’ятайте про в’язнів, наче з ними ув’язнені, — про тих, які страждають, бо й ви самі перебуваєте в тілі.

4

[Let] marriage [be held] every way in honour, and the bed [be] undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers will God judge.

4

Шлюб у всіх нехай буде у великій пошані, і ложе незаплямоване, а розпусників і перелюбників судитиме Бог.

Jesus Christ is the Same

[Let your] conversation [be] without love of money, satisfied with [your] present circumstances; for *he* has said, I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.

У поведінці будьте не грошолюбні, задоволені тим, що маєте. Бо Він сказав: Я тебе не покину і не відступлю від тебе!

So that, taking courage, we may say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not be afraid: what will man do unto me?

Тому ми відважуємося говорити: Господь — мені помічник, тож я не боятимусь. Що зробить мені людина?

Remember your leaders who have spoken to you the word of God; and considering the issue of their conversation, imitate their faith.

Згадуйте ваших наставників, які проповідували вам Боже Слово, і, дивлячись на кінець їхнього життя, наслідуйте їхню віру.

Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and to-day, and to the ages [to come].

Ісус Христос учора, сьогодні й навіки Той Самий!

Be not carried away with various and strange doctrines; for [it is] good that the heart be confirmed with grace, not meats; those who have walked in which have not been profited by [them].

Не піддавайтеся різним чужим ученням. Адже добре підкріпляти серця благодаттю, а не стравами, від чого не отримали користі ті, які так живуть.

10

We have an altar of which they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle;

10

Маємо жертовника, з якого не мають права їсти ті, які служать наметові.

11

for of those beasts whose blood is carried [as sacrifices for sin] into the [holy of] holies by the high priest, of these the bodies are burned outside the camp.

Адже тіла тих тварин, кров яких за гріх первосвященик вносить до Святого, спалюються поза табором.

12

Wherefore also Jesus, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate:

Тому й Ісус, щоб освятити народ Своєю кров’ю, постраждав поза брамою.

13

therefore let us go forth to him without the camp, bearing his reproach:

Тож виходьмо до Нього поза табір, несучи Його наругу,

14

for we have not here an abiding city, but we seek the coming one.

14

бо ми не маємо тут постійного міста, але шукаємо майбутнього.

15

Sacrifices and Prayer

By him therefore let us offer [the] sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, [the] fruit of [the] lips confessing his name.

15

Отже, через Нього завжди приносьмо жертву хвали Богові, тобто плід уст, що прославляють Його Ім’я.

16

But of doing good and communicating [of your substance] be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

16

Не забувайте про доброчинність і спілкування, бо такі жертви до вподоби Богові.

17

Obey your leaders, and be submissive; for *they* watch over your souls as those that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not groaning, for this [would be] unprofitable for you.

17

Слухайтеся ваших наставників, підкоряйтеся їм, тому що вони дбають про ваші душі, оскільки мають дати звіт. Хай же вони роблять це з радістю, а не з зітханням, адже це для вас не корисне.

18

Pray for us: for we persuade ourselves that we have a good conscience, in all things desirous to walk rightly.

Моліться за нас, бо ми переконані, що маємо добре сумління, у всьому бажаючи поводитися чесно.

19

But I much more beseech [you] to do this, that I may the more quickly be restored to you.

19

Особливо ж прошу робити це, щоб я швидше був повернений вам.

20

Benediction and Final Greetings

But the God of peace, who brought again from among [the] dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, in [the power of the] blood of [the] eternal covenant,

20

А Бог миру, Який кров’ю вічного Завіту підняв з мертвих Великого Пастиря овець — Господа нашого Ісуса,

21

perfect you in every good work to the doing of his will, doing in you what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for the ages of ages. Amen.

21

нехай удосконалить вас у всякому доброму ділі, аби виконати Його волю, здійснюючи у вас все, що Йому до вподоби, — через Ісуса Христа, Якому слава навіки-віків! Амінь [1].

22

But I beseech you, brethren, bear the word of exhortation, for it is but in few words that I have written to you.

22

Прошу вас, брати: прийміть слова втіхи. Адже я, стисло написавши, послав вам.

23

Know that our brother Timotheus is set at liberty; with whom, if he should come soon, I will see you.

23

Знайте, що наш брат Тимофій звільнений, — і я разом з ним; якщо він незабаром прийде, то я вас побачу.

24

Salute all your leaders, and all the saints. They from Italy salute you.

24

Вітайте всіх ваших наставників та всіх святих. Вітають вас ті, хто в Італії.
