Darby Bible Translation

New Living Translation

  • Rejoicing in Heaven

After these things I heard as a loud voice of a great multitude in the heaven, saying, Hallelujah: the salvation and the glory and the power of our God:
  • Songs of Victory in Heaven

After this, I heard what sounded like a vast crowd in heaven shouting,
    “Praise the LORD!a
Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.
  • for true and righteous [are] his judgments; for he has judged the great harlot which corrupted the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his bondmen at her hand.
  • His judgments are true and just.
He has punished the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth with her immorality.
He has avenged the murder of his servants.”
  • And a second time they said, Hallelujah. And her smoke goes up to the ages of ages.
  • And again their voices rang out:
    “Praise the LORD!
The smoke from that city ascends forever and ever!”
  • And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and did homage to God who sits upon the throne, saying, Amen, Hallelujah.
  • Then the twenty-four elders and the four living beings fell down and worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out, “Amen! Praise the LORD!”
  • And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his bondmen, [and] ye that fear him, small and great.
  • And from the throne came a voice that said,
    “Praise our God,
    all his servants,
    all who fear him,
from the least to the greatest.”
  • The Marriage of the Lamb

And I heard as a voice of a great crowd, and as a voice of many waters, and as a voice of strong thunders, saying, Hallelujah, for [the] Lord our God the Almighty has taken to himself kingly power.
  • Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder:
    “Praise the LORD!
For the Lord our God,b the Almighty, reigns.
  • Let us rejoice and exult, and give him glory; for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife has made herself ready.
  • Let us be glad and rejoice,
and let us give honor to him.
For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb,
and his bride has prepared herself.
  • And it was given to her that she should be clothed in fine linen, bright [and] pure; for the fine linen is the righteousnesses of the saints.
  • She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.”
For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people.
  • And he says to me, Write, Blessed [are] they who are called to the supper of the marriage of the Lamb. And he says to me, These are the true words of God.
  • And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.”
  • And I fell before his feet to do him homage. And he says to me, See [thou do it] not. I am thy fellow-bondman, and [the fellow-bondman] of thy brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Do homage to God. For the spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus.
  • Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sistersc who testify about their faith in Jesus. Worship only God. For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus.d
  • The Rider on the White Horse

And I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and one sitting on it, [called] Faithful and True, and he judges and makes war in righteousness.

  • The Rider on the White Horse

Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war.
  • And his eyes are a flame of fire, and upon his head many diadems, having a name written which no one knows but himself;
  • His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself.
  • and [he is] clothed with a garment dipped in blood; and his name is called The Word of God.
  • He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God.
  • And the armies which [are] in the heaven followed him upon white horses, clad in white, pure, fine linen.
  • The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses.
  • And out of his mouth goes a sharp [two-edged] sword, that with it he might smite the nations; and he shall shepherd them with an iron rod; and he treads the wine-press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.
  • From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress.
  • And he has upon his garment, and upon his thigh, a name written, King of kings, and Lord of lords.
  • On his robe at his thighe was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
  • Defeat of the Beast and False Prophet

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid-heaven, Come, gather yourselves to the great supper of God,
  • Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, shouting to the vultures flying high in the sky: “Come! Gather together for the great banquet God has prepared.
  • that ye may eat flesh of kings, and flesh of chiliarchs, and flesh of strong men, and flesh of horses and of those that sit upon them, and flesh of all, both free and bond, and small and great.
  • Come and eat the flesh of kings, generals, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders; and of all humanity, both free and slave, small and great.”
  • And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against him that sat upon the horse, and against his army.
  • Then I saw the beast and the kings of the world and their armies gathered together to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army.
  • And the beast was taken, and the false prophet that [was] with him, who wrought the signs before him by which he deceived them that received the mark of the beast, and those that worship his image. Alive were both cast into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone;
  • And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast — miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
  • and the rest were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which goes out of his mouth; and all the birds were filled with their flesh.
  • Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came from the mouth of the one riding the white horse. And the vultures all gorged themselves on the dead bodies.
