The Fifth Trumpet
And the fifth angel sounded [his] trumpet: and I saw a star out of the heaven fallen to the earth; and there was given to it the key of the pit of the abyss.
And the fifth angel sounded [his] trumpet: and I saw a star out of the heaven fallen to the earth; and there was given to it the key of the pit of the abyss.
І п’ятий ангел засурмив, — і я побачив зорю, що з неба впала на землю. І дано їй ключ від колодязя безодні.
And it opened the pit of the abyss; and there went up smoke out of the pit as [the] smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke of the pit.
І вона відкрила колодязь безодні, і піднявся дим із колодязя, наче дим з великої печі, і померкло сонце та повітря від диму з колодязя.
And out of the smoke came forth locusts on the earth, and power was given to them as the scorpions of the earth have power;
І з диму на землю вийшла сарана, і дано їй владу, — таку владу, яку мають земні скорпіони.
and it was said to them, that they should not injure the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but the men who have not the seal of God on their foreheads:
І сказано їй, щоб не шкодила земній траві, ані жодному зіллю, ані жодному дереву, але тільки людям, які не мають Божої печаті на чолах.
and it was given to them that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months; and their torment [was] as [the] torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man.
І дано їй не вбивати їх, але щоб мучилися п’ять місяців, а мука від неї — наче мука від скорпіона, коли вжалить людину.
And in those days shall men seek death, and shall in no way find it; and shall desire to die, and death flees from them.
І в ті дні люди шукатимуть смерті, але не знайдуть її; і забажають померти, та смерть втече від них.
And the likenesses of the locusts [were] like to horses prepared for war; and upon their heads as crowns like gold, and their faces as faces of men;
А сарана та подібна була до коней, готових до бою. На головах у неї, наче вінці, подібні до золота, а обличчя її — наче обличчя людини.
and they had hair as women's hair, and their teeth were as of lions,
І вона мала волосся, наче волосся в жінок, а зуби такі, як у левів;
and they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings [was] as the sound of chariots of many horses running to war;
і мала панцери, подібні до залізної броні, а шум її крил — як від колісниць з великою кількістю коней, які біжать до бою.
and they have tails like scorpions, and stings; and their power [was] in their tails to hurt men five months.
І має хвости та жала, такі як у скорпіонів, а в тих хвостах — її влада, аби шкодити людям п’ять місяців.
They have a king over them, the angel of the abyss: his name in Hebrew, Abaddon, and in Greek he has [for] name Apollyon.
Мала вона над собою царя — ангела безодні. Ім’я його по-єврейськи Аваддон, а по-грецьки — Аполліон [1].
The first woe has passed. Behold, there come yet two woes after these things.
Одне горе минуло, та йдуть за ним ще два горя.
The Sixth Trumpet
And the sixth angel sounded [his] trumpet: and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which [is] before God,

І шостий ангел засурмив, — і я почув один голос від чотирьох рогів золотого жертовника, що перед Богом,
saying to the sixth angel that had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound at the great river Euphrates.
який говорив до шостого ангела, який мав сурму: Звільни чотирьох ангелів, зв’язаних біля великої ріки Євфрат!
And the four angels were loosed, who are prepared for the hour and day and month and year, that they might slay the third part of men;
І звільнені були чотири ангели, приготовані на годину, і на день, і на місяць, і на рік, щоб вигубити третину людей.
and the number of the hosts of horse [was] twice ten thousand times ten thousand. I heard their number.
А кількість кінного війська — двадцять тисяч разів по десять тисяч, я почув їхнє число.
And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those that sat upon them, having breastplates of fire and jacinth and brimstone; and the heads of the horses [were] as heads of lions, and out of their mouths goes out fire and smoke and brimstone.
Тож таким чином я у видінні побачив коней, а ті, хто сидить на них, мають броню вогненну, і гіацинтову, і сірчану. І голови коней — наче голови левів, а з їхніх уст виходить вогонь, дим і сірка.
By these three plagues were the third part of men killed, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which goes out of their mouths.
Від цих трьох кар: від вогню, від диму і від сірки, що виходять з їхніх уст, загинула третина людей,
For the power of the horses is in their mouth and in their tails: for their tails [are] like serpents, having heads, and with them they injure.
бо влада коней була в їхніх устах і в їхніх хвостах. Хвости ж були подібні до зміїв, які мають голови і ними завдають шкоду.
And the rest of men who were not killed with these plagues repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and the golden and silver and brazen and stone and wooden idols, which can neither see nor hear nor walk.
А решта людей, які не загинули від цих кар, не покаялися у вчинках своїх рук, щоб не поклонятися демонам, ні золотим ідолам, ні срібним, ні мідним, ні кам’яним, котрі ні бачити не можуть, ні чути, ні ходити.
