Then Abimelech went up to mount Zalmon, he and all the people that were with him; and Abimelech took an axe in his hand, and cut down a bough from the trees, and took it up and laid it on his shoulder, and said to the people that was with him, What ye have seen me do, make haste, do as I have done.

so he led his forces to Mount Zalmon. He took an ax and chopped some branches from a tree, then put them on his shoulder. “Quick, do as I have done!” he told his men.

И пошёл Авимелех на гору Селмон, сам и весь народ, бывший с ним, и взял Авимелех топоры с собою и нарубил сучьев древесных, и положил на плечи свои, и сказал народу, бывшему с ним: вы видели, что я делал; скорее делайте и вы то же, что я.

пішов він з усім людом, що мав при собі, на Цалмон-гору і, вхопивши сокиру, відтяв з дерева гілляку, підняв її, закинув собі на плечі та й сказав народові, що був з ним: “Мерщій, що зробив я, зробіть і ви!”

І пійшов Абимелех з усїм людом, що мав при собі, на Селмон-гору. Тут ухопив сокиру, нарубав галузя, підняв і закинув собі на плечі, і звелїв усїм військовим, що йшли за ним: Бачите, що я роблю, те й ви робіте! -
І вийшов Авімелех на го́ру Цалмон, він та ввесь народ, що з ним. І взяв Авімелех сокири в свою руку, та й настина́в галу́ззя з де́рева, і позно́сив його, і поклав на своє плече. І сказав він до народу, що з ним: „Що ви бачили, що́ зробив я, — поспішно зробіть, як я“.

он вместе со всеми своими воинами поднялся на гору Цалмон. Он взял топор, срубил несколько веток и положил их на плечи. Затем он приказал воинам, которые были с ним:
— Быстро делайте то же, что и я. -
І пішов Авімелех до гори Селмон, він і весь народ, який з ним, і взяв Авімелех сокиру у свою руку, нарубав в’язку дров, узяв її, поклав на свою спину і сказав народові, який з ним: Коли бачите, що я чиню, то швидко чиніть так, як я.
