And Saul said to Jonathan, Tell me what thou hast done. And Jonathan told him and said, With the end of the staff which is in my hand I tasted a little honey, [and] behold, I must die!

Then Saul said to Jonathan, Tell me what thou hast done. And Jonathan told him, and said, I did but taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in mine hand, and, lo, I must die.

Then Saul said to Jonathan, “Tell me what you have done.”
And Jonathan told him, and said, “I only tasted a little honey with the end of the rod that was in my hand. So now I must die!” -

“Tell me what you have done,” Saul demanded of Jonathan.
“I tasted a little honey,” Jonathan admitted. “It was only a little bit on the end of my stick. Does that deserve death?” -
И сказал Саул Ионафану: расскажи мне, что сделал ты? И рассказал ему Ионафан и сказал: я отведал концом палки, которая в руке моей, немного мёду; и вот, я должен умереть.

Саул сказав до Йонатана: «Признайсь мені, що ти зробив.» І признавсь йому Йонатан та й каже: «Я скуштував кінцем палиці, що в руці в мене, трохи меду. Ось я готовий умерти.»

Питає ж тодї Саул у Йонатана: Признайсь менї, що ти вчинив? І признавсь йому Йонатан та й каже: Кінцем палицї, що держав у руцї, скоштував я трохи меду — за се менї смерть! -
І сказав Саул до Йонатана: „Розкажи мені, що́ ти зробив?“ І розповів йому Йонатан і сказав: „Я справді скуштува́в кінцем кия, що був у руці моїй, трохи меду. Ось я помру за це!“

Тогда Саул велел Ионафану:
— Скажи мне, что ты сделал.
Ионафан ответил ему:
— Я просто съел немного меда с конца посоха. И теперь я должен умереть.68 -
І Саул сказав Йонатанові: Сповісти мені, що ти вчинив! І сповістив йому Йонатан, кажучи: Я справді скуштував [5] трохи меду, на кінчику палиці, що в моїй руці. І ось я маю померти.
