And Jonathan said to David, Jehovah, God of Israel, when I sound my father about this time to-morrow, [or] the next day, and behold, there be good toward David, and I then send not to thee, and apprise thee of it,
-
And Jonathan said unto David, O LORD God of Israel, when I have sounded my father about to morrow any time, or the third day, and, behold, if there be good toward David, and I then send not unto thee, and shew it thee;

Then Jonathan said to David, “I swear by the Lord, the God of Israel, that I will surely sound out my father by this time the day after tomorrow! If he is favorably disposed toward you, will I not send you word and let you know? -

Then Jonathan said to David, “The LORD, the God of Israel, be witness! When I have sounded out my father about this time tomorrow, or the third day, behold, if there is good feeling toward David, shall I not then send to you and make it known to you? -
Then Jonathan told David, “I promise by the LORD, the God of Israel, that by this time tomorrow, or the next day at the latest, I will talk to my father and let you know at once how he feels about you. If he speaks favorably about you, I will let you know.

И сказал Ионафан Давиду: жив Господь, Бог Израилев! я завтра около этого времени, или послезавтра, выпытаю у отца моего; и если он благосклонен к Давиду, и я тогда же не пошлю к тебе и не открою пред ушами твоими,

Йонатан і каже до Давида: «Свідком мені Господь, Бог Ізраїля: взавтра або позавтра о цій порі я вивідаю мого батька, і коли буде він прихильний до Давида, я пошлю до тебе й сповіщу тебе про те.

От і каже Йонатан Давидові: Як живе Господь, Бог Ізрайлїв: я завтра около сієї пори, або позавтра, допитаюсь у панотця мого, і наколи буде що добре про Давида, а я тодї не пошлю до тебе й не сповіщу тебе про те, -
І сказав Йоната́н до Давида: „Свідок Господь, Бог Ізраїлів, що післязавтра цього ча́су ви́відаю я батька свого. Нехай скарає мене Бог, якщо тоді не пошлю́ до тебе, і не сповіщу́ тебе, —

Ионафан сказал Давиду:
— Пусть Господь, Бог Израиля, будет свидетелем! Я непременно выспрошу все у отца к этому времени завтра или послезавтра! Если он расположен к тебе, я пошлю к тебе и извещу тебя. -
І промовив Йонатан до Давида: Господь, Бог Ізраїля, знає, що довідаюся в батька мого, при нагоді — тричі, чи ось доброзичливий буде до Давида, то невже не пошлю до тебе в поле.
