David Again Spares Saul

And the Ziphites came to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Does not David hide himself in the hill of Hachilah, facing the waste?

Зифеи пришли к Саулу в Гиву и сказали: "Давид скрывается на холме Гахила, напротив Иесимона".

And Saul arose, and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, having three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.

И спустился Саул в пустыню Зиф с тремя тысячами человек, отобранными из всего Израиля, чтобы искать там Давида.

And Saul encamped in the hill of Hachilah, which faces the waste, by the way side. And David abode in the wilderness; and when he saw that Saul had come after him into the wilderness,

Саул разбил свой лагерь на холме Гахила, у дороги напротив Иесимона. Давид же находился в пустыне и видел, что Саул шёл туда за ним.

David sent out spies, and learned that Saul was certainly come.

Давид послал разведчиков и выяснил, что Саул действительно пришёл.

And David arose and came to the place where Saul had encamped; and David beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his host; and Saul lay within the wagon-defence, and the people were encamped round about him.

Тогда Давид пошёл туда, где Саул разбил свой лагерь. Он увидел, где спал Саул и его военачальник Авенир, сын Нира. Саул спал в центре лагеря, а народ расположился вокруг него.

And David spake and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said, I will go down with thee.

Давид обратился к Ахимелеху Хеттеянину и к Авессе, сыну Саруина, брату Иоава. Он спросил их: "Кто пойдёт со мной к Саулу в лагерь?" Авесса ответил: "Я пойду с тобой".

And David and Abishai came to the people by night, and behold, Saul lay sleeping within the wagon-defence, and his spear stuck in the ground at his head; and Abner and the people lay round about him.

Ночью Давид и Авесса пошли в лагерь Саула. Саул спал в лагере, и копьё его было воткнуто в землю у его изголовья, а Авенир и остальной народ спали вокруг Саула.

And Abishai said to David, God has delivered thine enemy into thy hand this day; and now let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear, even to the ground once, and I will not do it the second time.

Авесса сказал Давиду: "Сегодня Бог отдаёт врага в твои руки. Позволь, я пригвозжу его копьём к земле одним ударом, мне не придётся два раза ударять!"

9

And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not; for who can stretch forth his hand against Jehovah's anointed, and be guiltless?

Но Давид сказал Авессе: "Не убивай Саула! Кто поднимет руку на помазанника Господа, тот будет наказан!

10

And David said, [As] Jehovah liveth, Jehovah will surely smite him; either his day shall come to die, or he shall descend into battle and perish.

Как жив Господь, Он сам поразит Саула. Может быть, придёт его день, и он умрёт или будет убит в сражении.

11

Jehovah forbid that I should stretch forth my hand against Jehovah's anointed! But now take, I pray thee, the spear that is at his head, and the cruse of water, and let us go.

А я молю Господа, чтобы он никогда не позволил мне поднять руку на царя, избранного Господом! Теперь возьми копьё и сосуд с водой, которые у изголовья Саула, и пойдём".

And David took the spear and the cruse of water from Saul's head; and they went away, and no man saw [it], and none knew [it], and none awaked, for they were all asleep; for a deep sleep from Jehovah had fallen upon them.

Давид взял копьё и сосуд с водой у изголовья Саула, и они ушли из лагеря Саула. И никто не знал и не видел, что произошло, и никто не проснулся. Все люди Саула спали, ибо Господь усыпил их глубоким сном.

David Reproves Abner

And David went over to the other side, and stood on the top of a hill afar off; a great space [being] between them.

Давид перешёл на другую сторону долины и стал на вершине горы напротив лагеря Саула. Между ними было большое расстояние.

14

And David cried to the people, and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, Answerest thou not, Abner? Then Abner answered and said, Who art thou that criest to the king?

И закричал Давид народу и Авениру, сыну Нира: "Отвечай, Авенир!" Авенир ответил: "Кто ты такой, чтобы кричать царю?"

15

And David said to Abner, Art not thou a man? and who is like to thee in Israel? and why hast thou not guarded thy lord the king? for one of the people came in to destroy the king thy lord.

Давид сказал Авениру: "Не муж ли ты? Кто может сравниться с тобой в Израиле? Так почему же ты не бережёшь господина твоего, царя? Простой человек приходил в лагерь, чтобы убить царя, господина твоего.

16

This thing is not good which thou hast done. As Jehovah liveth, ye are worthy to die, because ye have not guarded your master, Jehovah's anointed. And now see where the king's spear is, and the cruse of water that was at his head.

Ты совершил большую ошибку! И как верно то, что жив Господь, ты и люди твои заслуживаете смерти за то, что не охраняете господина вашего, царя, избранного Господом. Посмотри вокруг. Где копьё и сосуд с водой, которые были у изголовья Саула?"

17

And Saul knew David's voice, and said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my lord, O king.

Саул узнал голос Давида и сказал: "Твой ли это голос, сын мой, Давид?" Давид ответил: "Да, это мой голос, господин мой царь".

18

And he said, Why does my lord thus pursue after his servant? for what have I done? or what evil is in my hand?

И ещё сказал Давид: "Господин мой, за что ты преследуешь меня? Что я сделал? В чём виноват я?

19

And now, I pray thee, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If Jehovah have moved thee against me, let him accept an oblation; but if the sons of men, cursed be they before Jehovah; for they have driven me out this day from adhering to the inheritance of Jehovah, saying, Go, serve other gods.

Господин мой царь, выслушай меня! Если Господь возбудил в тебе злобу против меня, то пусть Он примет жертву. Но если это люди возбудили в тебе злобу ко мне, то пусть они будут прокляты перед Господом! Они изгнали меня с земли, которую дал мне Господь, говоря: "Иди и служи чужим богам".

20

And now, let not my blood fall to the earth far from the face of Jehovah; for the king of Israel is come out to seek a single flea, as when they hunt a partridge on the mountains.

20

Так не дай пролиться крови моей на землю вдали от Господа. Царь Израиля вышел искать одну блоху, как человек, который гоняется за куропаткой по горам".

Saul Acknowledges his Sin

And Saul said, I have sinned: return, my son David; for I will no more do thee harm, because my life was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have acted foolishly, and have erred exceedingly.

И сказал Саул: "Я согрешил. Возвратись, сын мой, Давид. Я не буду больше делать тебе зла, ибо сегодня ты показал, что тебе дорога жизнь моя. Я вёл себя глупо и совершил большую ошибку".

22

And David answered and said, Behold the king's spear, and let one of the young men come over and fetch it.

Давид ответил: "Вот копьё царя. Пусть один из юношей придёт сюда и возьмёт его.

23

And Jehovah will render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness; for Jehovah gave thee into [my] hand this day, and I would not stretch forth my hand against Jehovah's anointed.

23

Господь воздаёт каждому по делам его. Он вознаграждает тех, кто поступает праведно, и наказывает тех, кто неправеден. Господь сегодня отдавал тебя в мои руки, но я не подниму руки своей на царя, избранного Господом.

24

And behold, as thy life was highly esteemed this day in mine eyes, so let my life be highly esteemed in the eyes of Jehovah, that he may deliver me out of all distress.

24

Сегодня я показал, что твоя жизнь дорога мне! Так и Господь, да ценит мою жизнь и да избавит меня от всяких бед!"

25

And Saul said to David, Blessed be thou, my son David: thou shalt certainly do [great things], and shalt certainly prevail. And David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.

И сказал Саул Давиду: "Да благословит тебя Бог, сын мой Давид. Ты будешь творить великие дела, и успех будет тебе во всём". И пошёл Давид Своим путём, а Саул возвратился домой.
