As they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Tell the servant to pass on before us (and he passed on), but stand thou still now, that I may cause thee to hear the word of God.

And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.

As they were going down to the edge of the town, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to go on ahead of us” — and the servant did so — “but you stay here for a while, so that I may give you a message from God.” -

As they were going down to the outskirts of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to pass on before us, and when he has passed on, stop here yourself for a while, that I may make known to you the word of God.” -

When they reached the edge of town, Samuel told Saul to send his servant on ahead. After the servant was gone, Samuel said, “Stay here, for I have received a special message for you from God.”

Когда подходили они к концу города, Самуил сказал Саулу: скажи слуге, чтобы он пошёл впереди нас, — и он пошёл вперёд; — а ты остановись теперь, и я открою тебе, что сказал Бог.

Коли вони підхо́дили на край міста, то Самуїл сказав до Саула: „Скажи тому слузі, і нехай він іде перед нами“. І той пішов. „А ти зараз спини́ся, — я оголошу́ тобі Боже слово!“

Пока они спускались к окраине города, Самуил сказал Саулу:
— Скажи слуге, чтобы он пошел впереди нас, — и тот пошел вперед, — но сам стой здесь, я открою тебе, что сказал Бог. -
Коли вони сходили до околиці міста, то Самуїл сказав Саулові: Скажи слузі, і нехай іде перед нами, а ти стань сьогодні й послухай Боже слово.
