The Seventh Day, God Rests

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

Итак, сотворение земли, неба и всего, что на них, было закончено.

And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.

Бог закончил то, что делал, и на седьмой день отдыхал от Своих трудов.

So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

Бог благословил седьмой день и освятил его, сделав особым днём, потому что в тот день Он отдыхал от трудов, которыми был занят, сотворяя мир.

The Creation of Man and Woman

These are the generations
of the heavens and the earth when they were created,
in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.

Вот происхождение неба и земли, рассказ о том, что произошло в то время, когда Господь Бог сотворил землю и небо.

When no bush of the fielda was yet in the landb and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up — for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground,

На земле не было растений; в полях ничего не росло, нигде ещё не было растений. Господь ещё не послал на землю дождь, и не было человека, чтобы ухаживать за растениями.

and a mistc was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground —

Туман поднимался с земли, и вода покрывала её поверхность.

then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.

И тогда Господь Бог взял пыль земную и создал человека. Господь вдохнул в нос человеку дыхание жизни, и тот стал живым существом.

And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Затем Господь Бог посадил на востоке сад в месте, которое называется Эдемом, и поместил там сотворённого Им человека.

And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

После этого Господь Бог сделал так, что в саду стали расти всевозможные красивые деревья и деревья со съедобными плодами, а посередине сада Он поместил дерево жизни и дерево познания добра и зла.

A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and there it divided and became four rivers.

Через Эдем протекала орошавшая сад река, которая потом разделялась на четыре меньших реки.

The name of the first is the Pishon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.

Первая из них называлась Фисон и текла вокруг страны Хавилы.

And the gold of that land is good; bdellium and onyx stone are there.

The name of the second river is the Gihon. It is the one that flowed around the whole land of Cush.

And the name of the third river is the Tigris, which flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

Третья река называлась Тигр и протекала к востоку от Ассирии. Четвертая река называлась Евфрат.

The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.

Господь Бог поселил человека в Эдемском саду, чтобы тот обрабатывал землю и ухаживал за растениями,

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden,

и заповедал Господь Бог человеку: "Можешь есть плоды с любого дерева в саду,

17

but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eatd of it you shall surely die.”

кроме дерева познания добра и зла. Если съешь плод с этого дерева, то умрёшь".

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit fore him.”

18

После этого Господь Бог сказал: "Вижу Я, что нехорошо человеку быть одному. Сотворю ему помощника, такого же, как он".

Now out of the ground the Lord God had formedf every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name.

Господь Бог взял земную пыль и сотворил всех полевых животных и всех птиц небесных. Потом Он привёл всех этих животных к человеку, чтобы узнать, как он их назовёт, и это стало именем животного.

The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adamg there was not found a helper fit for him.

Человек дал названия всем домашним животным, всем птицам небесным и всем диким лесным зверям. Человек увидел несметное множество животных и птиц, но не смог найти себе подходящего помощника.

So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.

Тогда Господь Бог погрузил человека в глубокий сон и, пока тот спал, вынул у него одно ребро, а потом срастил кожу человека в том месте, откуда вынул ребро.

And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he madeh into a woman and brought her to the man.

Господь Бог взял ребро, вынутое у человека, создал из него женщину и привел её к человеку.

23

Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.”i

Человек сказал: "Наконец-то! Она такая же, как и я! Кость её от кости моей, и плоть её от плоти моей. Она взята от мужчины, так назову же её женщиной".

24

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

24

Вот почему мужчина оставляет отца с матерью и соединяется с женой; и двое становятся единой плотью.

25

And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

25

Мужчина и женщина были наги, но не стыдились этого.
