And when the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends word to me to cure a man of his leprosy? Only consider, and see how he is seeking a quarrel with me.”

And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.

And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a quarrel with me.”

When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes in dismay and said, “Am I God, that I can give life and take it away? Why is this man asking me to heal someone with leprosy? I can see that he’s just trying to pick a fight with me.”

Як прочитав царь Ізраїлський письмо, так роздер на собі одежу та й каже: Хиба ж я Бог, що робить і мертвими й живими, що він менї приказує, вигоїти чоловіка з його прокази? Тепер вам явно, як він шукає зачепки! -
І сталося, як Ізраїлів цар перечита́в цього листа, то роздер свої ша́ти й сказав: „Чи я Бог, щоб убивати чи лишати при житті, що той посилає до мене, щоб я ви́лікував чоловіка від прока́зи його? Тож зна́йте й дивіться — це він шукає проти мене за́чіпки“.

Когда царь Израиля прочитал это письмо, он разорвал на себе одежду и сказал:
— Разве я Бог, чтобы умерщвлять и оживлять? Почему он посылает ко мне, чтобы я исцелял от проказы? Смотрите, он пытается затеять со мной ссору! -
І сталося, коли цар Ізраїля прочитав листа, то роздер свій одяг і сказав: Хіба я Бог, щоб убивати чи оживляти, що цей посилає до мене, аби вилікувати чоловіка від його прокази? Бо знайте і глядіть, що цей шукає зачіпки проти мене!

Когда израильский царь прочитал письмо, он разодрал на себе одежды и сказал: "Разве я Бог? Нет! У меня нет власти над жизнью и смертью. Так почему же царь сирийский послал ко мне этого человека, чтобы я снял с него проказу? Видите, сирийский царь ищет предлога, чтобы поссориться со мной!"
