    ALEPH. Blessed are the perfect in the way, who walk in the law of Jehovah.
  • Blessed are those who keep his testimonies,
    who seek him with their whole heart,
  • Blessed are they that observe his testimonies, that seek him with the whole heart;
  • who also do no wrong,
    but walk in his ways!
  • Who also do no unrighteousness: they walk in his ways.
  • You have commanded your precepts
    to be kept diligently.
  • Thou hast enjoined thy precepts, to be kept diligently.
  • Oh that my ways may be steadfast
    in keeping your statutes!
  • Oh that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
  • Then I shall not be put to shame,
    having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
  • Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
  • I will praise you with an upright heart,
    when I learn your righteous rules.b

    BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his path? by taking heed according to thy word.
  • With my whole heart I seek you;
    let me not wander from your commandments!

    that I might not sin against you.
  • Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.

    for I trust in your word.
  • So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me; for I confide in thy word.
  • And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
    for my hope is in your rules.

  • The proud have derided me beyond measure: I have not declined from thy law.

    yet I have not forgotten your statutes.

    When will you judge those who persecute me?
  • How many shall be the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?
  • The insolent have dug pitfalls for me;
    they do not live according to your law.
  • The proud have digged pits for me, which is not according to thy law.
  • All your commandments are sure;
    they persecute me with falsehood; help me!
  • All thy commandments are faithfulness. They persecute me wrongfully: help thou me.
  • They have almost made an end of me on earth,
    but I have not forsaken your precepts.
  • They had almost consumed me upon the earth; but as for me, I forsook not thy precepts.
  • In your steadfast love give me life,
    that I may keep the testimonies of your mouth.

    for all things are your servants.

  • If your law had not been my delight,

    because my foes forget your words.
