King James Bible

  • The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

    Why do the nations ragea
    and the peoples plot in vain?
  • The Triumphant Messiah

    Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
  • The kings of the earth set themselves,
    and the rulers take counsel together,
    against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
  • The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
  • “Let us burst their bonds apart
    and cast away their cords from us.”
  • Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
  • He who sits in the heavens laughs;
    the Lord holds them in derision.
  • He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
  • Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
    and terrify them in his fury, saying,
  • Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
  • “As for me, I have set my King
    on Zion, my holy hill.”
  • Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
  • I will tell of the decree:
    The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
    today I have begotten you.
  • I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
  • Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
    and the ends of the earth your possession.
  • Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
  • You shall breakb them with a rod of iron
    and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
  • Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
  • Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
    be warned, O rulers of the earth.
  • Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
  • Serve the Lord with fear,
    and rejoice with trembling.
  • Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
  • Kiss the Son,
    lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
    for his wrath is quickly kindled.
    Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
  • Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
