  • Taste and See That the Lord Is Good

    a Of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech, so that he drove him out, and he went away.

    I will bless the Lord at all times;
    his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
  • aA psalm of David, regarding the time he pretended to be insane in front of Abimelech, who sent him away.

    I will praise the LORD at all times.
    I will constantly speak his praises.
  • My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
    let the humble hear and be glad.
  • I will boast only in the LORD;
    let all who are helpless take heart.
  • Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
    and let us exalt his name together!
  • Come, let us tell of the LORD’s greatness;
    let us exalt his name together.
  • I sought the Lord, and he answered me
    and delivered me from all my fears.
  • I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me.
    He freed me from all my fears.
  • Those who look to him are radiant,
    and their faces shall never be ashamed.
  • Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
    no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
  • This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
    and saved him out of all his troubles.

    around those who fear him, and delivers them.

    and loves many days, that he may see good?
  • Does anyone want to live a life
    that is long and prosperous?
  • Keep your tongue from evil
    and your lips from speaking deceit.
  • Then keep your tongue from speaking evil
    and your lips from telling lies!
  • Turn away from evil and do good;
    seek peace and pursue it.
  • Turn away from evil and do good.
    Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
  • The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
    and his ears toward their cry.
  • The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right;
    his ears are open to their cries for help.
  • The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
  • But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil;
    he will erase their memory from the earth.
  • When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
    and delivers them out of all their troubles.
  • The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help.
    He rescues them from all their troubles.
  • The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
    and saves the crushed in spirit.
  • The LORD is close to the brokenhearted;
    he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
  • Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
    but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
  • The righteous person faces many troubles,
    but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.
  • He keeps all his bones;
    not one of them is broken.
  • For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous;
    not one of them is broken!
  • Affliction will slay the wicked,
    and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
  • Calamity will surely destroy the wicked,
    and those who hate the righteous will be punished.
  • The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
    none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.
  • But the LORD will redeem those who serve him.
    No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
