Taste and See That the Lord Is Good

a Of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech, so that he drove him out, and he went away.

I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Псальма Давидова по случаю, як він притворився розумом перед Авімелехом, і той відпустив його, й він вийшов. Благословлю Господа по всяк час, без устанку хвала його буде в устах моїх.

My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.

Господом хвалити меться душа моя; почують те смирні і звеселяться.

3

Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!

Звеличайте Господа вкупі зо мною, і вознесїм імя його!

4

I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.

Я шукав Господа, і він озвався до мене, і від всякої журби збавив мене.

5

Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.

Хто вбачає на Господа, розвеселиться, і лице його не осоромиться.

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.

Той бідолашний благав, і Господь почув його, і від всїх напастей вислобонив його.

The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.

Ангел Господень чатує кругом боящихся його; і визволяє їх.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Спробуйте і дізнайтесь, що Господь благий; щасливий чоловік той, що вповає на него.

Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints,
for those who fear him have no lack!

Бійтесь Господа, ви, сьвяті його! Бо не знають недостатку ті, що бояться його.

10

The young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Левчуки терплять голод і недостаток, але ж ті, що шукають Бога, у всякому добрі не зазнають недостатку.

11

Come, O children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

Прийдїте, сини людські, послухайте мене; навчу вас страху Господнього.

What man is there who desires life
and loves many days, that he may see good?

Хто чоловік той, що рад би жити, любить днї, щоб вжиткувати добро?

13

Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking deceit.

Держи язик від злого, а уста твої, щоб не говорили зрадливо;

14

Turn away from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.

Одвертайсь від злого і твори добро, шукай супокою і дбай про него.

15

The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
and his ears toward their cry.

15

Очі Господнї на праведних, і уші його на молитву їх;

16

The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth.

Лице Господнє проти тих, що творять зло, щоб знищити память їх на землї.

17

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.

Праведні взивають, і Господь чує і збавить їх з усїх тїснот їх.

18

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.

18

Господь близько від тих, в кого роздерте серце; і в кого дух розбитий, він спасе його.

19

Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Багацько лиха у праведника, та від усього збавить його Господь.

20

He keeps all his bones;
not one of them is broken.

20

Він хоронить всї костї його, і нї одна з них не переломиться.

21

Affliction will slay the wicked,
and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.

21

Постигне від злого смерть беззаконника, і, хто ненавидїв праведника, зазнає лиха.

22

The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

22

Господь спасає душі слуг своїх, і всї, що вповають на него, не дознають лиха.
