O God, we have heard with our ears,
our fathers have told us,
what deeds you performed in their days,
in the days of old:

you afflicted the peoples,
but them you set free;

for not by their own sword did they win the land,
nor did their own arm save them,
but your right hand and your arm,
and the light of your face,
for you delighted in them.

You are my King, O God;
ordain salvation for Jacob!

На пояс меч повесь, могучий мой, надень мундир великолепный.

Through you we push down our foes;
through your name we tread down those who rise up against us.

И поспеши победу одержать во имя истины и справедливости, рукою праведной своею укажи на благородные поступки.

For not in my bow do I trust,
nor can my sword save me.

И пусть в сердца всех вражеских царей твои вонзятся стрелы, пусть народы падут к Твоим ногам.

But you have saved us from our foes
and have put to shame those who hate us.

Твой трон пребудет, Господи, вовеки, Твой царский скипетр — скипетр справедливости.

In God we have boasted continually,
and we will give thanks to your name forever. Selah

Ты возлюбил добро и ненавидишь зло, и потому твой Бог тебя поставил превыше прочих, одного Тебя помазав радости елеем.

But you have rejected us and disgraced us
and have not gone out with our armies.

Твои одежды источают аромат алоэ, мирра, кассии, и музыка всех струн в дворце слоновой кости Твой слух ласкает.

You have made us turn back from the foe,
and those who hate us have gotten spoil.

Ты в окруженьи царских дочерей, и справа от Тебя — в короне злата чистого — невеста.

You have made us like sheep for slaughter
and have scattered us among the nations.

Послушай, дочь, прислушайся ко мне, забудь об отчем доме и народе.

You have sold your people for a trifle,
demanding no high price for them.

Царь покорён твоею красотой, склонись пред Ним, поскольку Он — твой муж.

13

You have made us the taunt of our neighbors,
the derision and scorn of those around us.

Из Тира многие придут к тебе с дарами и будут богатейшие мечтать о том, чтоб принести тебе богатые дары.

You have made us a byword among the nations,
a laughingstockb among the peoples.

Внутри покоев этих — дочь царя, её одежда золотом расшита.

15

All day long my disgrace is before me,
and shame has covered my face

В одеждах ослепительных её ведут к царю, за ней идут подруги.

16

at the sound of the taunter and reviler,
at the sight of the enemy and the avenger.

Идут с великой радостью, ликуя вступают во дворец царя.

17

All this has come upon us,
though we have not forgotten you,
and we have not been false to your covenant.

Места отцов Твоих со временем займут Твои сыны, правителями всюду Ты сделаешь их.

18

Our heart has not turned back,
nor have our steps departed from your way;

Память о Тебе я пронесу сквозь поколенья, и будут все народы восхвалять Тебя вовеки.
