  • God Shall Scatter His Enemies

    To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song.

    God shall arise, his enemies shall be scattered;
    and those who hate him shall flee before him!
  • For the choir director: A song. A psalm of David.

    Rise up, O God, and scatter your enemies.
    Let those who hate God run for their lives.
  • As smoke is driven away, so you shall drive them away;
    as wax melts before fire,
    so the wicked shall perish before God!
  • Blow them away like smoke.
    Melt them like wax in a fire.
    Let the wicked perish in the presence of God.
  • But the righteous shall be glad;
    they shall exult before God;
    they shall be jubilant with joy!
  • But let the godly rejoice.
    Let them be glad in God’s presence.
    Let them be filled with joy.
  • Sing to God, sing praises to his name;
    lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts;
    his name is the Lord;
    exult before him!
  • Sing praises to God and to his name!
    Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds.a

    rejoice in his presence!
  • Father of the fatherless and protector of widows
    is God in his holy habitation.

  • “Bless God in the great congregation,
    the Lord, O youe who are of Israel’s fountain!”
  • Praise God, all you people of Israel;
    praise the LORD, the source of Israel’s life.
  • There is Benjamin, the least of them, in the lead,
    the princes of Judah in their throng,
    the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.
  • Look, the little tribe of Benjamin leads the way.
    Then comes a great throng of rulers from Judah
    and all the rulers of Zebulun and Naphtali.
  • Summon your power, O God,f
    the power, O God, by which you have worked for us.
  • Summon your might, O God.d
    Display your power, O God, as you have in the past.
  • Because of your temple at Jerusalem
    kings shall bear gifts to you.
  • The kings of the earth are bringing tribute
    to your Temple in Jerusalem.
  • Rebuke the beasts that dwell among the reeds,
    the herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples.
    Trample underfoot those who lust after tribute;
    scatter the peoples who delight in war.g
  • Rebuke these enemy nations —
    these wild animals lurking in the reeds,
    this herd of bulls among the weaker calves.
    Make them bring bars of silver in humble tribute.
    Scatter the nations that delight in war.
  • Nobles shall come from Egypt;
    Cush shall hasten to stretch out her hands to God.
  • Let Egypt come with gifts of precious metalse;
    let Ethiopiaf bring tribute to God.
  • O kingdoms of the earth, sing to God;
    sing praises to the Lord, Selah
  • Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth.
    Sing praises to the Lord.

  • to him who rides in the heavens, the ancient heavens;
