New King James Version

  • My Refuge and My Fortress

    He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
  • Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

    He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
    Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
  • I will saya to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”
  • I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
    My God, in Him I will trust.”
  • For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
    and from the deadly pestilence.
  • Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the [a]fowler
    And from the perilous pestilence.
  • He will cover you with his pinions,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
  • He shall cover you with His feathers,
    And under His wings you shall take refuge;
    His truth shall be your shield and [b]buckler.
  • You will not fear the terror of the night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
  • You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
    Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
  • nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
    nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
  • Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
    Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
  • A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
  • A thousand may fall at your side,
    And ten thousand at your right hand;
    But it shall not come near you.
  • You will only look with your eyes
    and see the recompense of the wicked.
  • Only with your eyes shall you look,
    And see the reward of the wicked.
  • Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place —
    the Most High, who is my refugeb
  • Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
    Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
  • no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
    no plague come near your tent.
  • No evil shall befall you,
    Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
  • For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways.
  • For He shall give His angels charge over you,
    To keep you in all your ways.
  • On their hands they will bear you up,
    lest you strike your foot against a stone.
  • In their hands they shall [c]bear you up,
    Lest you [d]dash your foot against a stone.
  • You will tread on the lion and the adder;
    the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
  • You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
    The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
  • “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
    I will protect him, because he knows my name.
  • “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
    I will [e]set him on high, because he has known My name.
  • When he calls to me, I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble;
    I will rescue him and honor him.
  • He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble;
    I will deliver him and honor him.
  • With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”
  • With [f]long life I will satisfy him,
    And show him My salvation.”
