and the people of Israel said to them, “Would that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots and ate bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

And the children of Israel said to them, “Oh, that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.” -

“If only the LORD had killed us back in Egypt,” they moaned. “There we sat around pots filled with meat and ate all the bread we wanted. But now you have brought us into this wilderness to starve us all to death.”

Говорили до них сини Ізраїля: "О, коли б ми були повмирали від руки Господньої в Єгипетській землі, сидівши, було, круг казанів з м'ясом та ївши хліба досхочу! А то вивели ви нас у цю пустиню, щоб голодом поморити всю громаду."

І мовляли їм синове Ізрайлеві: Лучче б нам було повмірати од руки Господньої в Египецькій землї, як седимо було круг казана з мясивом, як їмо було хлїба до схочу. Бо вивели ви нас у пустиню сю, щоб голодом поморити всю громаду. -
І говорили їм Ізраїлеві сини: „Коли б ми були повмирали від Господньої руки в єгипетськім кра́ї, як ми сиділи над горшком м'яса, як ми їли хліба до́сить! Бо ви вивели нас до цієї пустині, щоб поморити голодом увесь цей збір“.

Израильтяне говорили им:
— Лучше бы нам было умереть в Египте от руки Господа! Там мы сидели у котлов с мясом и ели хлеб досыта. А вы вывели нас в пустыню, чтобы весь народ уморить голодом. -
Ізраїльські сини сказали їм: Краще було б, аби ми, уражені Господом, померли в Єгипетській землі, коли ми сиділи біля казанів з м’ясом і їли хліб досита. А ви вивели нас у цю пустелю, щоб усю цю громаду вигубити голодом!
