Then all the officials came to Jeremiah and asked him, and he answered them as the king had instructed him. So they stopped speaking with him, for the conversation had not been overheard.

Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.

All the officials did come to Jeremiah and question him, and he told them everything the king had ordered him to say. So they said no more to him, for no one had heard his conversation with the king. -

Then all the officials came to Jeremiah and questioned him. So he reported to them in accordance with all these words which the king had commanded; and they ceased speaking with him, since the conversation had not been overheard. -
Sure enough, it wasn’t long before the king’s officials came to Jeremiah and asked him why the king had called for him. But Jeremiah followed the king’s instructions, and they left without finding out the truth. No one had overheard the conversation between Jeremiah and the king.

И пришли все князья к Иеремии и спрашивали его, и он сказал им согласно со всеми словами, какие царь велел сказать, и они молча оставили его, потому что не узнали сказанного царю.

І справді прийшли таки всі князі до Єремії та й розпитували у нього; він же відказав їм точнісінько, як повелів йому цар, і вони його не турбували, бо розмова не рознеслася.

І прийшли всі зверхники до Єремії й запиталися його, і він розказав їм згідно зо всіма́ тими словами, що звелів був цар. І вони мо́вчки відійшли від нього, бо не довідались про обгово́рену річ.

Все приближенные собрались к Иеремии расспросить его, и он сказал им все так, как велел ему царь. Тогда они ему ничего не сказали, так как никто не слышал, о чем он говорил с царем.

Через це ось приходять дні, — говорить Господь, — і засію Ізраїль і Юду насінням [7] людини та насінням худоби.
