New American Standard Bible

  • The Time of the End

“At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book.
  • The Time of the End

“Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued.
  • And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
  • “Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt.
  • And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above;a and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.
  • “Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.
  • But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
  • “But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.”
  • Then I, Daniel, looked, and behold, two others stood, one on this bank of the stream and one on that bank of the stream.
  • Then I, Daniel, looked and behold, two others were standing, one on this bank of the river and the other on that bank of the river.
  • And someone said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream,b “How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?”
  • And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be until the end of these wonders?”
  • And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream; he raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven and swore by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be finished.
  • I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time; and as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed.
  • I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, “O my lord, what shall be the outcome of these things?”
  • As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these events?
  • He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end.
  • He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time.
  • Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
  • “Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.
  • And from the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days.
  • “From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
  • Blessed is he who waits and arrives at the 1,335 days.
  • “How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days!
  • But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days.”
  • “But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age.”
