The Lord’s Relentless Judgment on Israel

When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling;
he was exalted in Israel,
but he incurred guilt through Baal and died.

Когда Ефрем говорил, все трепетали. Он был высок в Израиле; но сделался виновным через Ваала и погиб.

And now they sin more and more,
and make for themselves metal images,
idols skillfully made of their silver,
all of them the work of craftsmen.
It is said of them,
“Those who offer human sacrifice kiss calves!”

И ныне прибавили они ко греху: сделали для себя литых истуканов из серебра своего, по понятию своему, — полная работа художников, — и говорят они приносящим жертву людям: «целуйте тельцов!»

Therefore they shall be like the morning mist
or like the dew that goes early away,
like the chaff that swirls from the threshing floor
or like smoke from a window.

За то они будут как утренний туман, как роса, скоро исчезающая, как мякина, свеваемая с гумна, и как дым из трубы.

But I am the Lord your God
from the land of Egypt;
you know no God but me,
and besides me there is no savior.

Но Я — Господь Бог твой от земли Египетской, — и ты не должен знать другого бога, кроме Меня, и нет спасителя, кроме Меня.

It was I who knew you in the wilderness,
in the land of drought;

Я признал тебя в пустыне, в земле жаждущей.

but when they had grazed,a they became full,
they were filled, and their heart was lifted up;
therefore they forgot me.

Имея пажити, они были сыты; а когда насыщались, то превозносилось сердце их, и потому они забывали Меня.

So I am to them like a lion;
like a leopard I will lurk beside the way.

И Я буду для них как лев, как скимен буду подстерегать при дороге.

I will fall upon them like a bear robbed of her cubs;
I will tear open their breast,
and there I will devour them like a lion,
as a wild beast would rip them open.

Буду нападать на них, как лишённая детей медведица, и раздирать вместилище сердца их, и поедать их там, как львица; полевые звери будут терзать их.

He destroysb you, O Israel,
for you are against me, against your helper.

Погубил ты себя, Израиль, ибо только во Мне опора твоя.

Where now is your king, to save you in all your cities?
Where are all your rulers —
those of whom you said,
“Give me a king and princes”?

Где царь твой теперь? Пусть он спасает тебя во всех городах твоих! Где судьи твои, о которых говорил ты: «дай нам царя и начальников»?

I gave you a king in my anger,
and I took him away in my wrath.

И Я дал тебе царя во гневе Моём, и отнял в негодовании Моём.

The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up;
his sin is kept in store.

Связано в узел беззаконие Ефрема, сбережён его грех.

The pangs of childbirth come for him,
but he is an unwise son,
for at the right time he does not present himself
at the opening of the womb.

Муки родильницы постигнут его; он — сын неразумный, иначе не стоял бы долго в положении рождающихся детей.

I shall ransom them from the power of Sheol;
I shall redeem them from Death.c
O Death, where are your plagues?
O Sheol, where is your sting?
Compassion is hidden from my eyes.

От власти ада Я искуплю их, от смерти избавлю их. Смерть! где твоё жало? ад! где твоя победа? Раскаяния в том не будет у Меня.

15

Though he may flourish among his brothers,
the east wind, the wind of the Lord, shall come,
rising from the wilderness,
and his fountain shall dry up;
his spring shall be parched;
it shall strip his treasury
of every precious thing.

Хотя Ефрем плодовит между братьями, но придёт восточный ветер, поднимется ветер Господень из пустыни, и иссохнет родник его, и иссякнет источник его; он опустошит сокровищницу всех драгоценных сосудов.
