And he issued a proclamation and published through Nineveh, “By the decree of the king and his nobles: Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything. Let them not feed or drink water,

And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh:
“By the decree of the king and his nobles:
Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. -

He issued a proclamation and it said, “In Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let man, beast, herd, or flock taste a thing. Do not let them eat or drink water. -
Then the king and his nobles sent this decree throughout the city:
“No one, not even the animals from your herds and flocks, may eat or drink anything at all. -

І він звелів кли́кнути й сказати в Ніневії з нака́зу царя та його вельмож, говорячи: „Нехай не покуштують нічо́го ані люди́на, ані худоба, худоба велика чи худоба дрібна́, нехай вони не пасуться, і нехай не п'ють води!

Он велел объявить в Ниневии:
«Указ царя и его приближенных:
Пусть ни люди, ни скот — ни крупный, ни мелкий — не принимают пищи, не ходят на пастбища и не пьют воды. -
І проповідувалось, і сказано від царя в Ніневії і від його вельмож, кажучи: Люди, худоба, воли і вівці хай нічого не їдять, не пасуться і не п’ють води!
