    A Vision of a Flying Scroll

    Again I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, a flying scroll!

    І зно́ву підніс я свої очі, та й побачив, аж ось летить звій.

    And he said to me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a flying scroll. Its length is twenty cubits, and its width ten cubits.”a

    І сказав він до мене: „Що́ ти бачиш?“ А я відказав: „Я бачу летючого зво́я. Довжина́ його — двадцять мірою ліктем, а ширина́ його — десять ліктів.“

    Then he said to me, “This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole land. For everyone who steals shall be cleaned out according to what is on one side, and everyone who swears falselyb shall be cleaned out according to what is on the other side.

    І сказав він мені: „Це те прокля́ття, що виходить на поверхню всієї землі. Бо кожен зло́дій буде знищений згідно з тим, що з цього боку звою написане, і кожен, хто присяга́є ложно, буде знищений згідно з тим, що з того боку звою написане.

    I will send it out, declares the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter the house of the thief, and the house of him who swears falsely by my name. And it shall remain in his house and consume it, both timber and stones.”

    І привів Я його, прокля́ття, — говорить Господь Саваот, — і при́йде воно до дому зло́дія, і до дому того, хто ложно присягає Йменням Моїм, і воно міцно ося́деться в сере́дині дому його, і вигубить його, і дере́ва його та каміння його“.

    A Vision of a Woman in a Basket

    Then the angel who talked with me came forward and said to me, “Lift your eyes and see what this is that is going out.”

    І вийшов той ангол, що говорив зо мною, та й до мене сказав: „Зведи́ но свої очі й побач, що́ це вихо́дить?“

    And I said, “What is it?” He said, “This is the basketc that is going out.” And he said, “This is their iniquityd in all the land.”

    І сказав я: „Що це таке?“ А він відказав: „Це ефа́, що виходить“. І ще він сказав: „Це їхня подоба в усьому кра́ї“.

    And behold, the leaden cover was lifted, and there was a woman sitting in the basket!

    Аж ось підняла́ся оли́в'яна по́кришка, а це була́ одна жінка, що сиділа посеред ефи́.

    And he said, “This is Wickedness.” And he thrust her back into the basket, and thrust down the leaden weight on its opening.

    І він сказав: „Це та несправедливість“. І кинув її до сере́дини ефи́, і кинув олив'я́ного куска до її отво́ру.

    Then I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, two women coming forward! The wind was in their wings. They had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between earth and heaven.

    І звів я очі свої та й побачив, аж ось дві жінки виходять, і вітер гудів в їхніх кри́лах, а їхні кри́ла — як крила чорногу́за. І підняли́ вони ефу́ між землею та між небом.

    Then I said to the angel who talked with me, “Where are they taking the basket?”

    І сказав я до ангола, що зо мною говорив: „Куди́ вони несуть цю ефу́?“

    He said to me, “To the land of Shinar, to build a house for it. And when this is prepared, they will set the basket down there on its base.”

    І сказав він до мене: „Щоб збудувати їй дім у краю́ Шін'ар. А коли він буде поста́влений, то буде покла́дена там на місці своєму“.
