Righteousness Through Faith in Christ

Finally, my brothers,a rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is no trouble to me and is safe for you.

На останок, браттє моє, радуйтесь у Господї. Те ж саме писати вам менї не противно, для вас же певно.

Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh.

Остерегайтесь собак, остерегайтесь лихих робітників, остерегайтесь відрізання.

For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of Godb and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh —

Ми бо обрізаннє, которі духом Богу служимо, і хвалимось в Ісусї Христї, а не в тїлї надїємось,

though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more:

хоч і я маю також надїю в тїлї. Коли хто инший думає надїятись у тїлї, то я тим більш, —

circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee;

обрізаний восьмого дня, з роду Ізраїлевого, з колїна Беняминового, Євреїн з Євреїв, по закону Фарисей,

6

as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law,c blameless.

по ревности гонив я церкву, по праведности законній непорочен.

But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.

Та що було менї надбаннєм, те вважав я за втрату ради Христа.

Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

Так оце я все вважаю за втрату ради вищого розуміння Христа Ісуса, Господа мого, ради котрого я все втеряв, і вважаю все за сьміттє, аби придбати Христа,

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith —

та й явитись у Ньому, не маючи моєї праведности, що від закону, а (маючи) ту, що вірою Христовою (здобувається), праведність від Бога у вірі,

10

that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

щоб розуміти Його, і силу воскресення Його, і спільність мук Його, приподоблюючись смерти Його,

11

that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

аби тільки достигнути до воскресення мертвих.

Straining Toward the Goal

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.

Не тим, щоб уже я достиг, або вже був звершений; гоню ж, чи не достигну того, за що і Христос Ісус достиг мене.

13

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,

Браттє, я про себе не думаю, що я вже достиг; одно ж (роблю), забуваючи вже те що позаду, і сягаючи по те, що спереду,

14

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

біжу до мети по нагороду вишнього поклику Божого в Христї Ісусї.

15

Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.

Скільки оце (нас) звершених, се думаймо, і коли що инакше думаєте, то й се Бог вам одкриє.

Only let us hold true to what we have attained.

16

Тільки ж (те), до чого ми достигли, (єсть) одним правилом жити і те саме думати.

17

Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us.

Приподоблюйтесь до мене, браттє, і вважайте, хто так ходить, яко ж маєте за взір нас.

18

For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.

(Многі бо ходять, про котрих не раз говорив я вам, тепер же й плачучи говорю, про ворогів хреста Христового,

19

Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.

котрим кінець — погибель, котрим Бог черево, а слава в соромі їх, котрі про земне думають.)

20

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Наше бо життє єсть на небесах, звідкіля ждемо і Спасителя, Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, котрий переобразить тїло смирення нашого, щоб було подобне тїлу слави Його, по дїйству, котрим зможе і покорити собі все.
