Twelve Memorial Stones from the Jordan
When all the nation had finished passing over the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua,

“Take twelve men from the people, from each tribe a man,
„Візьміть собі з народу дванадцять мужі́в, по одно́му му́жеві з пле́мени.
and command them, saying, ‘Take twelve stones from here out of the midst of the Jordan, from the very place where the priests’ feet stood firmly, and bring them over with you and lay them down in the place where you lodge tonight.’”
І накажете їм, говорячи: Винесіть звідси, із сере́дини Йорда́ну, із місця, де міцно стояли ноги священиків, дванадцять ка́менів, і перенесе́те їх із собою, і покладете їх на нічлі́гу, що в ньому будете ночувати цієї ночі“.
Then Joshua called the twelve men from the people of Israel, whom he had appointed, a man from each tribe.
І покликав Ісус тих дванадцятьох мужів, що настановив з Ізраїлевих синів, по одному му́жеві з пле́мени,
And Joshua said to them, “Pass on before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take up each of you a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel,
та й сказав їм Ісус: „Підіть перед ковче́гом Господа, Бога вашого, до сере́дини Йорда́ну, і підійміть собі кожен на плече́ своє одно́го ка́меня за числом племе́н Ізраїлевих синів,
that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’
щоб то було́ знаком між вами, коли взавтра запитають ваші сини, говорячи: Що це в вас за камі́ння?
then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. So these stones shall be to the people of Israel a memorial forever.”
то скажете їм, що була́ відді́лена йорда́нська вода перед ковчегом Господнього заповіту, — коли він перехо́див в Йорда́ні, була відді́лена йорда́нська вода. І будуть ті камі́ння за па́м'ятку для Ізра́їлевих синів аж навіки“.
And the people of Israel did just as Joshua commanded and took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel, just as the Lord told Joshua. And they carried them over with them to the place where they lodged and laid them downa there.
І зробили Ізра́їлеві сини так, як наказав Ісус, — і поне́сли вони дванадцять ка́менів із сере́дини Йорда́ну, як говорив Господь до Ісуса, за числом племен Ізраїлевих синів. І перене́сли їх із собою до нічлі́гу, та й поклали їх там.
А інших дванадцять ка́менів поставив Ісус в сере́дині Йорда́ну на місці, де стояли но́ги священиків, що несли ковчега заповіту, — і вони там аж до дня цього.
For the priests bearing the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything was finished that the Lord commanded Joshua to tell the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua.

А священики, що не́сли ковчега, стояли в сере́дині Йорда́ну аж до закі́нчення всього, що Господь наказав був Ісусові сказати наро́дові, згідно з усім тим, що наказав був Мойсей Ісусові. А народ ква́пився і перехо́див.
And when all the people had finished passing over, the ark of the Lord and the priests passed over before the people.
І сталося, як увесь народ скінчи́в перехо́дити, то перейшов Господній ковчег та священики перед наро́дом.
The sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh passed over armed before the people of Israel, as Moses had told them.
І перейшли́ Руви́мові сини й сини Ґадові та половина пле́мени Манасі́їного, озбро́єні до бо́ю, перед Ізраїлевими синами, як Мойсей говорив був до них.
About 40,000 ready for war passed over before the Lord for battle, to the plains of Jericho.
Коло сорока тисяч озбро́єних вояків перейшли перед Господнім лицем на війну до єрихо́нських степі́в.
On that day the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel, and they stood in awe of him just as they had stood in awe of Moses, all the days of his life.
Того дня звели́чив Господь Ісуса на оча́х усього Ізраїля, і стали боятися його, як боялися Мойсея по всі дні його життя.
“Command the priests bearing the ark of the testimony to come up out of the Jordan.”
„Накажи священикам, що носять ковче́га запові́ту, і нехай вони вийдуть з Йорда́ну“.
So Joshua commanded the priests, “Come up out of the Jordan.”
І наказав Ісус священикам, говорячи: „Вийдіть з Йорда́ну!“
And when the priests bearing the ark of the covenant of the Lord came up from the midst of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests’ feet were lifted up on dry ground, the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and overflowed all its banks, as before.
І сталося, коли священики, що не́сли ковчега Господнього заповіту, вийшли з сере́дини Йорда́ну, а сто́пи ніг священиків відірвалися від нього, щоб стати на сухо́му, то вода Йорда́ну верну́лася на своє місце, і пішла, як учора-позавчора, по всіх його берега́х.
The people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and they encamped at Gilgal on the east border of Jericho.
А народ вийшов із Йорда́ну десятого дня першого місяця, та й таборува́в у Ґілґа́лі, на схі́дньому боці Єрихо́ну.
And those twelve stones, which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up at Gilgal.
А дванадцять тих ка́менів, що взяли́ з Йорда́ну, Ісус поставив у Ґілґалі.
And he said to the people of Israel, “When your children ask their fathers in times to come, ‘What do these stones mean?’
І сказав він до Ізра́їлевих синів, говорячи: „Коли взавтра запитають вас ваші сини своїх батькі́в, говорячи: Що це за камі́ння?
then you shall let your children know, ‘Israel passed over this Jordan on dry ground.’
то познайо́мте ваших синів, говорячи: По сухому перейшов був Ізраїль цей Йорда́н,
For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up for us until we passed over,
бо Господь, Бог ваш, висушив воду Йорда́ну перед вами, аж поки ви не перейшли́, як зробив був Господь, Бог ваш, морю Червоному, яке Він висушив перед нами, аж поки ми не перейшли́,
