Ruth Meets Boaz
Now Naomi had a relative of her husband’s, a worthy man of the clan of Elimelech, whose name was Boaz.

У Ноеміні була людина, родич її чоловіка, людина сильна і владна з роду Авімелеха, і його ім’я — Вооз.
And Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, “Let me go to the field and glean among the ears of grain after him in whose sight I shall find favor.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.”
Якось моавійка Рут сказала Ноеміні: Піду я в поле і збиратиму колоски позаду женців, де тільки знайду милість у їхніх очах. А та відповіла їй: Іди, дочко.
So she set out and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers, and she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the clan of Elimelech.
І вона пішла, і збирала в полі за женцями. І випадково потрапила на частини поля Вооза, який з роду Авімелеха.
And behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem. And he said to the reapers, “The Lord be with you!” And they answered, “The Lord bless you.”
І ось прийшов Вооз із Вифлеєма, і сказав женцям: Господь з вами! А вони відповіли йому: Нехай Господь тебе благословить!
Then Boaz said to his young man who was in charge of the reapers, “Whose young woman is this?”
І сказав Вооз своєму слузі, який був над женцями: Чия ця молодиця?
And the servant who was in charge of the reapers answered, “She is the young Moabite woman, who came back with Naomi from the country of Moab.
У відповідь слуга, який стояв над женцями, сказав: Молодиця — це моавійка, котра повернулася з Ноемінню з моавського поля.
А вона сказала: Тож я збиратиму, і буду визбирувати поміж снопами за женцями! І вона пішла, і була від ранку аж до вечора, не спочила в полі ані трохи.
Then Boaz said to Ruth, “Now, listen, my daughter, do not go to glean in another field or leave this one, but keep close to my young women.
І промовив Вооз до Рути: Чи ти не чула, дочко? Не ходи збирати на іншому полі, не йди звідси, приєднайся тут до моїх молодиць!
Let your eyes be on the field that they are reaping, and go after them. Have I not charged the young men not to touch you? And when you are thirsty, go to the vessels and drink what the young men have drawn.”
Очі твої хай будуть на полі, де жатимуть, і підеш за ними. Ось я дав вказівку слугам не чіпати тебе, і коли ти відчуватимеш спрагу, то підеш до посудини і питимеш, звідки черпають воду слуги.
Then she fell on her face, bowing to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?”
І вона впала долілиць, поклонилася до землі й сказала йому: Чому так, що я знайшла милість у твоїх очах, щоб на мене звертати увагу? Я ж чужинка!
But Boaz answered her, “All that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband has been fully told to me, and how you left your father and mother and your native land and came to a people that you did not know before.
Та Вооз у відповідь сказав їй: Мені таки сповістили [1] те, що ти вчинила зі своєю свекрухою після смерті твого чоловіка, і як ти залишила твого батька, твою матір і землю, де ти народилася, і пішла до народу, якого ти не знала вчора і третього дня.
The Lord repay you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge!”
Нехай Господь винагородить тебе за твоє діло, і нехай твоя винагорода буде повна перед Господом, Богом Ізраїля, до Якого ти прийшла, щоб мати надію під Його крилами.
Then she said, “I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, for you have comforted me and spoken kindly to your servant, though I am not one of your servants.”
Вона ж сказала: Нехай знайду я милість у твоїх очах, володарю, бо ти мене потішив, адже ти заговорив до серця твоєї рабині, і ось я буду, як одна з твоїх рабинь.
And at mealtime Boaz said to her, “Come here and eat some bread and dip your morsel in the wine.” So she sat beside the reapers, and he passed to her roasted grain. And she ate until she was satisfied, and she had some left over.
А Вооз їй сказав: Вже час їсти, іди сюди і їстимеш хліб, і замочиш твій кусок у квасі. Тож Рут сіла біля женців, а Вооз наклав їй смаженого зерна. Вона поїла, наситилася і відійшла.
When she rose to glean, Boaz instructed his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her.
І піднялася збирати, а Вооз дав вказівку своїм слугам, наказуючи: Нехай збирає і між снопами, і не засоромите її!
And also pull out some from the bundles for her and leave it for her to glean, and do not rebuke her.”
Ви обов’язково носіть [2] до неї і навіть підкидайте [3] їй із зібраного, — залиште і нехай підбирає, і не забороните їй!
Тож вона збирала в полі аж до вечора, і вимолотила те, що зібрала, і вийшло біля ефи ячменю.
And she took it up and went into the city. Her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned. She also brought out and gave her what food she had left over after being satisfied.
Вона взяла і пішла до міста, і її свекруха побачила те, що вона зібрала. А Рут, витягнувши те, що залишилося з їжі після того, як вона наситилася, дала їй.
And her mother-in-law said to her, “Where did you glean today? And where have you worked? Blessed be the man who took notice of you.” So she told her mother-in-law with whom she had worked and said, “The man’s name with whom I worked today is Boaz.”
Її ж свекруха запитала в неї: Де ти сьогодні збирала, і де ти працювала? Нехай буде благословенний той, хто зглянувся на тебе. І Рут сповістила своїй свекрусі, де працювала, і сказала: Вооз ім’я чоловіка, в якого я сьогодні працювала.
And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “May he be blessed by the Lord, whose kindness has not forsaken the living or the dead!” Naomi also said to her, “The man is a close relative of ours, one of our redeemers.”
Тоді Ноемінь сказала своїй невістці: Благословенний він є Господом, бо не відняв свого милосердя від живих і від мертвих. Він нам чоловік-родич, — продовжила говорити до неї Ноемінь, — з наших найближчих родичів.
And Ruth the Moabite said, “Besides, he said to me, ‘You shall keep close by my young men until they have finished all my harvest.’”
А Рут відповіла своїй свекрусі: Він навіть мені сказав: Приєднайся до моїх слуг, аж доки всі не закінчать жнива, які в мене залишаються.
And Naomi said to Ruth, her daughter-in-law, “It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, lest in another field you be assaulted.”
І промовила Ноемінь до своєї невістки Рути: Добре, дочко, що ти пішла з його молодицями, тож не зустрінуть тебе на іншому полі.
